I'm joining in officially, and requesting a single squadron of Ties (72) packed into The Starfire. and if I can get a single, heavily shielded ship with no weapons and powerful engines, I'd like it to be painted yellow and sprinkled with chicken feathers....it will be my personal escape pod....
and if I can go further as to requisition 7000 commando's as my passenger compliment, all the better.
now then, since I loath the double post, I'll just throw my bio in at the end here:
Name: Sagetim Character name: Vorus du Celestus. Character Age: 65 Rank: Admiral
Troops under his command: more or less as many as he wants..but he generally keeps under 10,000 to keep things managable.
Personal Weaponry: Vibro Dagger, old fashioned stilleto in his boot, a blaster rifle and 3 clips in every wall panel of his ship, a frag grenade, 2 stun grenades, and a thermal detonator.
Armor: he generally wears a Personal shielding device (which lasts a few minutes before the batteries burn out) over a Storm Trooper Uniform. This not only helps him blend with his troops, it also gives them a greater sense of knowing thier commander.
Ship: The Starfire (capital ship) along with a full compliment of TIE fighters and an emergency Transport loaded into the Hangar (effectively large escape pod with hyperdrive and heavy shields)
Character History/ personality: Vorus was one of the few soldiers to start his career as a common soldier and work his way up. he's served in the Imperial Navy for 45 years, easily more than half his life, and in that time he's garnered a reputation as one of the strange commanders. His tactics are generally different than most, as he tries to keep as many of his troops alive in the process of any mission. In doing this he's managed to get an amount of comradery and trust from his lower ranking officers that most admirals don't bother with. Although he is ranked an Admiral, he prefers to control but one ship or as few ships as possible, in part to keep from having to keep track of too much, and in part to have stronger ties to those who he is in command of.
He enrolled in the Navy at the Age of 20, having grown up as the son of mechanics. After graduating from the Academy, he began his work as a foot soldier of the Empire, and at times would disobey direct order's from superior officers to accomplish his task. It was either through luck or fate that he managed to avoid being executed for treason, as one of the superior officers got a kick out of seeing a subordinate not only disobey orders, but manage to get the job done. By the time he was 30, Vorus had managed to work his way up to being an officer. However since he had started as a troop, he kept his Armor and integrated it into his uniform as much as he could...which wasn't much. After putting up with other officers and petty squabbling for another decade, Vorus found himself in the position of Captain. Now that he had a ship under his command he began to run things as he saw fit. The first thing he did was to institute a lack of dress code during off duty hours. he would also keep his crew on a four shift rotation, allowing the crew 18 hours of free time instead of the standard. Although his policies did manage to endear him to the crew, he also found that he needed them to be better trained in case of an emergency during shift change or other emergency. To do this he began by training his own crew in class groups, showing them what he had grown up learning about repair work and maintenence of gear. Over the course of a year he managed to have a ship running with one of the highest morale ratings and least corruption of officers.
Over the course of the remaining years, Vorus ran his ship with effciency, and got married. By now his children are grown and have begun to persue thier own course in life instead of following in thier father's footsteps.
