The koala girl gave Liang a thumbs up as the other girl made her way forward on the branch. Then, jumped. Ala scampered to the end of the branch, watching the bird fall for a few moments before flapping her wings, slowing her fall and eventually evening herself out.

"Yay!" Alaqua clapped her hands. The birdie was flying!

Lifting her head up, Liang locked her sights on the evergreen. She was feeling a sort of rush, and her crest feathers were catching the wind. Maybe this was why birds flew? It might have been risky, but it was fun! She felt her face coloring, from a mix of adrenaline and embarassment that she had earlier been afraid. She was still afraid, but it didn't seem so important anymore. If the climbing girl Alaqua had been right, as long as she didn't look down she wouldn't fall. Her wings were beating with a steady rhythmn now, and she only had to tilt them a little to push herself toward the tree. It looked like steering wouldn't be so hard either.

Ala grinned as the bird girl turned a bit and started towards the tree she'd pointed out. Grinning, Alaqua climbed down to run across and climb up that tree. Then she could tell the birdie how good of a job she did. Yes, that sounded good.

And so, the koala girl climbed down the tree and started off across the way to the evergreen.

Liang heard Alaqua going down the tree, and venturing a risk, she glanced down, keeping her wings at their angle. She spotted the girl running across the grass toward the evergreen, and because of her newfound confidence in her ability, she didn't fall. This was amazing! She took the chance to look around further, giddy when she still didn't crash. Figuring she was going to crash into the tree if she kept this up, she looked back toward it. Suddenly, she realized she was coming to the point that she had failed with miserably last time. Landing. And now she wouldn't even be landing on the ground.

Ala reached the other tree and climbed up, close to the level where Liang was flying. She grinned and waved at the girl, who was coming in fairly close. Yes, landing into a tree might be a bit interesting... But Ala would try and grab her when she got closer. Maybe that would help?

She could use the branches, yeah! Liang was a bit more confident now that she had a plan, and when she thought about it logically it didn't seem so hard. She tipped her wings back, using them to slow herself down some. Just level out and get ready. She came in at the tree a bit faster than she had planned, but she managed to grab hold of a fairly thick branch away from Ala. She didn't want to ram into her afterall. It was a bit hard to stop the motion, and before she knew it she tumbled around the branch, flipping over it like she'd seen her older brother do on the bars. But she had done it! She had flown and she had landed! It wasn't that hard afterall.

Alaqua watched as Liang performed some sort of gymnastics trick in the tree, clapping at the girl's landing. Okay, so the flipping over the branch hadn't been necessary, but it added to the landing. "See? Lots easier, right?"

"Yeah, easy, sure," Liang said quickly, a bit shaken by her landing. "I didn't do that on purpose," she added, "But it was kind of fun." Shrugging her shoulders, she climbed to a point where she could sit comfortably, "I still can't land on the ground though, or dive. Brother Teagan says birds like hawks and falcons can dive straight down and catch themselves before they hit the ground."

"Really, you didn't? But it looked cool." The koala girl nodded.

Alaqua settled down near Liang. "But you're still learning, right? So maybe after you've gotten good at flying you can practice diving some too." The girl nodded. That's all it took. Practice. And lots of it."

She nodded, still giddy that she had flown, even if it was just for a short while. "Yeah, I'm still learning. Maybe I'll be able to find someone to practice with. I went to a class for flying, but I don't know if any of the people there would want to practice with me." Deciding she should change the subject from herself, she crossed her legs over, steadying herself, "Where did you learn to climb so well?"

"Practicing with someone would be fun." Alaqua commented. A class for flying? She wondered if there was a class for climbing, too. "Hmm? Oh, I... I used to climb on my Mommy a lot when I was littler. And Mommy told me about using my claws to help me." She shrugged.

"I only really talked to two people in the class though, I think they called themselves lovebirds. The girl was kind of loud but I wouldn't mind practicing with the boy, he probably knows a lot about flying." She mused, fluttering her wings lightly. She had to be careful with them, both because of their weight and their sheer size. That was one of her problems with being like a bird. Even though she could fly now she still broke things with them a lot.

"Well, at least you know someone to practice with. And I bet Miss Kat knows lots of birds you could meet." Ala nodded. Miss Kat knew everything, right? Just like Mommy.

The girl watched as Liang's wings shifted. It must be cool to have wings. But they'd get in the way for climbing, Alaqua bet. She wouldn't be able to climb in tighter spots...

Liang nodded, "Yeah, I'll ask her if he won't practice with me. I think the guy teaching the class was called Mr. Solon, it was kind of interesting. There were a couple kids with no feathers, that was kind of weird, but it turns out you don't have to have feathers to fly." She hoped the girl didn't think that meant you could fly without wings, she'd feel horrible if the she was the reason someone got hurt.

People could fly without feathers? Interesting... but, then again, Worrel hadn't had feathers and he flies because he's a dragon, right? So maybe dragons weren't the only exception. But dragons still had wings...

"Was Liggy in the class?" Remembering Worrel led to the owl boy. She hadn't seen Liggy in a long time, having met him shortly after she'd met her mommy. She'd met Ter then too.
