..:: Journal Role Play: Findings ::.. THUMP. Alarai groaned under her breath as she finally -almost- dropped the books on the checkout counter. The librarian looked at the stack of books, then over them to give Alarai a raised eyebrow. "You sure you rather not just buy them? You've checked most of these out at least a dozen times during the past six months..." Alarai shook her head, grinning. "Naw, because then I'd have to find a permanent place to store them at home when I'm not actively reading them." The librarian lifted a hand to show he yielded and started to check out the books, placing them in a neat pile after scanning each one. Alarai showed him her library card so the computer knew who to check the books out to, then shoved the card back into her back pocket when the librarian gave it back. She picked up the pile with an "oof", smiled at the librarian who rolled his eyes at her, and walked out the door, deciding it was a nice enough day to hoof it, even with the stack of books in her arms. She juggled the books to one side, and started walking home, humming in glee at the treasures she got. She managed to get about halfway home before her clumsiness struck, sending her sprawling over a vine with a cry as the books tumbled from her hands and under the leafy owner of the vine. Grumbling as she got up, Alarai looked around for her precious books, hoping they weren't damaged from that. Spotting one, she squealed in glee and lunged at it, brushing her hand against some of the leaves in her haste to pick up the book and examine it. It didn't look too bad... She brushed the dirt off, peering at it to see if it was dented or torn somewhere. Luck seemed to be with her. Not a scratch. She quickly searched for the others, leaving the recovered books in a stack outside the plant. She did a double-check to make sure she hand them all and felt her hand come across a leathery tube. She frowned as she pulled the object out into view and peered quizzically at the case. If she didn't know any better, she'd say it was a scroll case. She turned it over in her hands, idly scratching at parts of her skin that had made contact with the plant. She shrugged, then placed it with the other books before picking up the stack and finishing her trip home. It didn't take long after placing the books that her skin really started to itch, and she found out that it was a poison ivy plant vine she had tripped over. She was going to be hurting in the morning... ((^^; Didn't I say it would involve Alarai being her bookworm self, lots of books, maybe a clumsy accident or two done by Alarai, and, of course, the scroll? Plus either a library or a bookstore... or a mall... Yup. And so it did. >>))

..:: Journal Role Play: Scratchy Results ::.. Alarai scowled as she scratched at her skin once again, then forced herself to relax and settle into her living room couch, speculating. Should she take another steaming-hot shower? The water should have had enough time to warm up again by now. She had already thrown her clothes into the washer to try to get the oil off them, and was thankful she tended to wear long sleeves if she wasn't going to be outside long. Hopefully, if any rashes appeared, it would be on her hands only... annnd perhaps her scalp since she had tuck a stray hair or two behind one ear as she was gathering the books up. She hoped not. That didn't stop her from nearly burning herself as she scrubbed herself almost religiously with lots of soap until the water ran cold though, when she did a quick rinse and shut the water off. Then she had gone straight to the medicine cabinet - dripping water as she went - to grab some anti-itch gel to smother her skin with. Only then did she go to get some loose clothes to pull on. She hoped she was wrong, that she had identified the wrong plant - once she had gotten placed the books, she rummaged through her books to see what kind of plant that was. Upon finding out, she paled, then rushed into action. Thus the shower and stuff. But now she was slightly calmer. There wasn't much else to do... besides figuring out what to do with that scroll. Should she try to save it? It had been under that poison ivy plant for some time now... which might explain why it was there in the first place. She sighed, then eyed the case from its position on the table in front of her. What to do with the scroll... She was fairly certain there was a scroll in there; after all, it was a scroll case, right? She took some time debating, then got up, carefully placed gloves over her hands, and picked up the case. Could she wash it? She took it over to her sink and set it down. She then grabbed a washcloth, drenched it, put a drop of soap on it, and wrung it until it was damp. She then lightly dabbed the washcloth against the leather case, hoping she wasn't damaging it and that she was getting rid of whatever oils may have been clinging to it. After several minutes of dabbing, she sighed, placed the washcloth aside to be washed later, peeled off the gloves, and got a paper towel to dry the case off with. She patted at the case for a few moments until she deemed it dry. She chucked the wadded paper towel into a nearby wastebasket and carried the case back into the living room, making sure she didn't trip over anything and break the case as she went. She flopped back down onto the sofa and examined the case closely. Could she open it? A few moments' struggle answered that for her: No. She sighed, leaned back as she placed the scroll case next to her, and closed her eyes to catch a quick nap. She'd take another shower later. Sleep now, before she was unable to sleep.

..:: Journal Role Play: Unsealed Aftermath ::.. Takes Place Immediately After Unsealing Ends Alarai sighed and leaned on the door once it was shut behind her. She could almost hear footsteps walking away, but that could have been her imagination. As she looked down at the child falling asleep in her arms, only one thought was going through her mind, What have I gotten myself into? Another sigh pressed its way past her sealed lips, and she moved deeper into her house, intent on finding a room for the child - Papina - to sleep in. Gone was any thoughts or memories of having touched a poison ivy plant earlier, now there were thoughts on figuring out just how one cared for a child. Were there any special diets? Allergies? Likes? Dislikes? She had no clue on how to deal with the child. Well... perhaps she should start by thinking of her by name, so that she would start calling the child by name. Papina. Native American for Ivy. Papina. Hopefully she didn't create an impossible standard for Papina to live up to when she named her. Now... to figure out what the child wanted. She opened her mouth to ask the chi- Papina something, looked down, and... shut her mouth, gently hefting the child and placing her on one hip as she made a detour for her room. She would be fast asleep right now. And no doubt would be cranky if she was woken prematurely. Best to take her to bed and let her sleep until she woke up. She placed the ivy chil - Papina - on the bed, and after some thought, prepared her self for bed and crawled in with Papina. She had better not get any visitors until they were both awake... If I get one more salesales person knocking on my door and they manage to wake up Papina... was the last thought before she fell asleep.

..:: Alarai's Journal Entry: #001 ::.. Good gawd, what have I gotten myself into?! First I stumble over a poison ivy plant, then I find a scroll under the poison ivy plant - brushing against it repeatedly in the process - which I just have to pick up, then some couple comes by and say they want to see the scroll! And just what do they do with the scroll? They unseal a kid from within, of course! The woman - whatshername - Nara... I think... made it sound as if she had done this before! ... Oh gawd, what if she has done it before... I don't have to take care of more kids, do I?! Ok EE, you need to quit freaking out... Anyways... But... this one is kinda cute... even if she does have green hair and green eyes. Hm. Well, even if I don't have to take care of the others, don't I have to take Papina to see them every so often? Dunno why, of course, but if they were all unsealed from scrolls... doesn't that make them friends at the least, family at the most? I should look at that card again; it might tell me where to go looking for that couple and see if they might be willing to tell me where the other "scroll kids" live...
Oh... And I need to make sure I get Papina - my scroll kid - some more clothes and some furniture for her new bedroom - I finally cleared out one of the spare rooms that I had been piling stuff into... Heh... At least now I've cleaned it out like I've been planning to for ages and ages. I might take Papina to the park later; she might like to see all the plants....
On a good note, desipite all my fears and what not, I don't seem to have broken out... yet. Hopefully I won't, because if I am and Papina somehow becomes a poison ivy plant... Naw... She might have come from a scroll, but really... turn into a plant? If she does turn into something anyways... After all, that's the picture the scroll had on it... the leaf of a poison ivy plant... Maybe it wasn't chance of where the scroll was...
Ok, I think I've done enough rambling for now. It's been long enough and I feel calmer. Two good things when waiting for a child to wake. Now to go hide this somewhere where Papina can't reach yet I can find again, and then go see if she's awake yet or not...
... Oh yeah... And I need to see if Papina can read and write yet, and get her a journal of her own...

..:: Journal Role Play: Settling In ::.. Takes Place Not Long After The Park: All Unsealed & Guardians Ends Alarai groaned as she finally shut the door behind her and moved to flop down on the living room sofa. Papina squealed with delight as she ran off towards her room with one of the many waiting boxes that had been outside when they got home. Alarai whimpered as she debated whether to put her hands over her eyes or her ears. Oiy. Well... they had gone to the park and Papina seemed to have fun. Hopefully she came away with at least one of those she met being her friend. "Ugh," was the only sound that came out when Papina came racing back in empty-handed and climbed up to plop on her lap. "Papina, hun, I know your excited, but aren't you the least bit tired after going to the park today?" Papina shook her head side to side quickly, her eyes wide. Well, perhaps not. After all, she got to sleep on the way home. No fair. Alarai sighed before chasing Papina off her lap and rising with a groan. She could have swore she wasn't old last time she checked... Of course, she couldn't remember the last time she truly checked, but hey. She shuffled over the the boxes and started to help Papina unpack all her new stuff and get her room set up.
Several, several, long hours later... Alarai whimpered as she tried to make sense of the instructions once more and turned it upside-down (or was it upside-right) once more to see if that helped. Papina was giggling in the background as she played with some of the new toys she had gotten. Alarai stuck her tongue out as she tossed the instructions over one shoulder and simply tried to stick the pieces together as Papina continued to giggle, snagging some of the pieces and starting to copy her...
Even later... Alarai despaired putting some of Papina's furniture together before bedtime and decided to let Papina sleep in her bed again tonight. She sighed as she palmed her face and let out a large yawn, which Papina echoed a fraction of a second later. Papina put down what she had in her hands at the time and crawled into Alarai's lap. Alarai groaned before putting down what she had, shifted Papina, got up (with Papina in one hand - not easy), and walked as far as the door before turning to look at the half-finished room. There was now paint on the walls (in leafy patterns), toys all over the floor, and lopsided furniture all over the room. Alarai grinned wryly to herself before turning off the light, shutting the door, and taking the two of them to bed. They could always brush their teeth in the morning... or whenever they managed to get the furniture to look like it did at the store... Maybe I should ask for some help... was the last thought before she fell asleep.

..:: Alarai's Journal Entry: #002 ::.. Bleh. Well, Papina is settling in right now. I left her asleep in my bed; I couldn't stay asleep for long - too many thoughts tumbling through my head. We returned home to find everything by our front door... That sounds so strange - we, not I. Papina started carrying things on her own, but she needed me to help her carry the heavier stuff in. Somehow, we manged to get everything into her brand-spanking new (ok, maybe just clean and empty is more accurate) room and start setting things up. Either we got the wrong stuff or the instructions are wrong (it can't possibly be my fault), because the furniture (bed, shelves, dresser, stuff like that) was impossible to put together correctly. Last I saw them, they looked all crooked and stuff (those that had managed to stay upright, that is). So I'm letting Papina stay in my room some more. I have yet to see if she can read and/or write yet, or to get her a journal of her own... I wonder if poison ivy oils would harm paper? Hmm... Maybe I shouldn't try to read her journal once she gets one - she might leave oils there on purpose and I'd be caught literally with red hands. Red, itchy hands.
Oh. Papina seems to be changing. Her skin is starting to turn green and there's a leaf coming out of her head. Her hands and feet are starting to look weird too. Good thing she's asleep - it looks like it'd hurt if she was awake... Oops. Spoke too soon. She's awake and crying. Best go see what it is...

..:: Journal Role Play: Changes ::.. Takes Place Immediately After Alerai Entry 002 Alarai closed her journal shut with a snap and quickly stood up, leaving it on the desk as she made her way towards the source of the cries. Papina was sitting up in bed, crying, her head buried in her... are those, those... roots her hands? At least, I think they're roots... Maybe they just look like roots... Alarai quickly sat on the bed next to Papina - and after a moment's hesitation - put her arms around the girl in a loose hug. Papina continued to weep as she flung herself around and into Alarai's chest, her sobs becoming somewhat muffled. "Momma, it hurts and itches and hurts!" She sniffed, then withdrew her head somewhat before tilting it upwards to look directly at Alarai. "I feel funny too." Alarai blinked, trying to figure out what this meant before scanning the room for something to try and help. She blinked again as she looked first sharply at Papina - or rather - the leaf on her head, then around the dark room. Well, not dark exactly, but there was no sunlight coming in. The only source of light was from the open doorway. "Come on hun, I have a theory." Maybe Papina couldn't fully change if she wasn't exposed to sunlight during at least part of it? She helped Papina off the bed and almost carried her out the front door. Papina gasped as the sunlight struck her and instantly went ridged, her arms outspread, her face upturned, her eyes closed in sudden relief. Alarai froze as well, before withdrawing enough to make sure she wasn't blocking the sunlight. The leaf on top of Papina's head unfurled and started to rise on it's little stem as her hair became longer and her skin went from a palish white-green to deep green and even deeper green vine patterns rose to the surface. Her forearms became thicker and turned lighter in contrast to the green skin, soon becoming a kind-of creamy off-white color. The color of roots. Her hands also became thicker as they shifted color to match her forearms and Alarai would not be surprised if Papina couldn't flex her wrists anymore. Her eys trailed down to see Papina's slippers straining to contain her shifting feet and quickly bent down to attempt to take them off. Papina almost fell over as Alarai got first one, then the other slipper off and pocketed them. Papina's feet started to grow rapidly as soon as the slippers were off, becoming thicker and lighter, nearly matching her hands in appearance. Her toes fused together and lengthened into a single point per foot, looking like she was wearing some odd sort of shoe or other. Her clothing, on the other hand, didn't change so much as they strained, even tore, at the changes. Well, Alarai knew that growing children would out-grow their clothes, but she thought it would take longer then this. Well, at least she wouldn't spend years and years replacing Papina's clothes almost as soon as she got them. Good thing she had gotten Papina some loose clothing yesterday - she doubted Papina could fit into the more form-fitting clothes now. She waited a moment to see if more changes would happen, but if they did, it wasn't where she could see them. She finally, reluctantly, reached over and tugged gently on Papina's hair. Papina's eyelids fluttered for a moment, as if she was somewhere she didn't want to leave, but finally opened - rather reluctantly - as she turned her head towards the direction of the tug and lowered her arms. She had a rather dreamy look in her eyes as she made a questioning noise at Alarai, sounding half-asleep. Alarai blinked, then sighed as she registered the fact that Papina would likely want to stay out her awhile. "Papina, hun, can you stand going inside long enough to change before staying out her for awhile?" Papina made a rude sounding snort, but finally turned and trundled into the house, coming out moments later with a loose red shirt, transparent green under shirt (at least, that was what Alarai called it), and longer gold pants on. She returned to the same spot she changed in and dug her bare feet into the dirt before raising face and arms up once more to welcome the sun, her eyes again closed in bliss. Alarai nibbled on one fingernail in concern. She couldn't remember if Papina's room sported a window or not. She was pretty sure it did, but still... Well, she could always eithr move Papina to a room with a window, or knock out part of one wall to make a window if there wasn't. She hesitated a moment longer, wondering Papina would be okay on her own, before going back into the cooler house and watching Papina from there.

..:: Journal Role Play: Death by Boredom ::.. Takes Place Some Random Time After Metaplot :: Kidnapped! Papina groaned as she flopped backwards down on top of her bed and flung an arm over her eyes. Bored. So bored. Alarai had been super protective of her lately and wasn't allowing her to go out for fear of... well, she didn't know exactly, but it was something major. She muttered to herself as she picked her arm up so she could turned her head this way and that, looking around the room. Just because she was safe in here didn't mean she wouldn't die of boredom. One wouldn't think it was possible, but it sure felt like it could happen right now. She sat up with a determined look in her eyes as the leaf on her head twitched with surpressed emotion. Well her mom put her in here, she could do something about her boredom! She stalked over to the door and opened it... to be greeted with the sound of her mom telling her not to leave the house. She rolled her eyes in sad amusement, and wandered over to the source of the voice. She found her mom in the living room watching the tv avidly. The fact that she was sitting on her hands meant that she was trying not to bite her nails, which would be she was very nervous. She came around to be behind Alarai and watched the screen for a few moments to see what her mom was watching. News. Alarai noticed her at that point. "Papina! You shouldn't be watching this! As long as you don't leave this house, I don't particularly care what you do at this point! Just stay out of trouble and don't let them see you!" Papina blinked. "Them?" Alarai winced as she let out too much information. "Never mind! Just stay in the house and find something to do!" She returned to watching the screen and actually brought and hand out from under her close to her face, a finger already between her teeth as she bit down on it from pure worry. Papina gave her a worried look, but wandered off to make herself a sandwich. Who were the "they" that her mom was so worried about and why was she worried?

..:: Journal Role Play: On One Condition ::.. Takes Place Just Before The Park: Papina and Maggie "Awww... Come on, Mom! Just for a few hours? I'm going brown here!" Papina attempted yet again to get her mom to let her go out. Alarai frowned thoughtful as she looked at the leaf on top of her daughter's head. It did look a little wilted. Her mouth twitched sideways for a moment, a sigh she was thinking, and thinking hard. "Alright." She had to make herself louder to be heard over Papina's cheers, "But," Papina instantly quietly, staring at her mother with wide eyes. Now what? "But," Alarai started again, quieter this time, "one, you have to take self-defence lessons," Papina rolled her eyes. She was likely to get that in her classes over controling her skills. "Two, you have to take this with you." She held out something in one hand towards Papina. Papina cautiously took it and held it up to see. A cell phone! "Now now," Alarai started. "You are not to use it whenever you feel like. It's for emergencies only." Papina's face fell as Alarai continued. "And you are to call every half-hour when you are out of this house, and you are to be back before sun down. Got it?" Papina hugged Alarai, taking care not to touch bare skin to bare skin. "Got it Mom! Every half-hour, back by sun down!" She was all packed up and out the door before Alarai could correct her to be back before sun down. Ah well. Hopefully nothing bad would happen to Papina while she was out... Time to check her closet and see what she had been picking out lately for clothes.

..:: Journal Role Play: Troublesome... Teens? ::.. Takes Place Before Metaplot :: Rescue! Alarai sighed as Papina slammed the door to her room. The ivy child had gotten so... moody... lately. The leaf on her head seemed to be starting new buds on either side of it as well. Perhaps... she was growing? She already had to extend the minutes on the cell phone Papina had since she was starting to use it more and more. And not all to call her mom. Alarai sighed again and stepped softly over to Papina's door, raising her hand to knock before she froze, realizing that she had no clue what to say. Perhaps she was a bit harsh on the child. After all, everything seemed... quiet. She should let Papina out more... maybe. And only in the company of those she already knew. Need to get the child into more classes too. She started to pace outside the door, deep in thought, until Papina herself opened the door and peered out to see what her mom was up to now. She made a face as she saw her mom pacing, but only said, "Mom? I don't suppose you could please think elsewhere? Bad enough I'm stuck indoors so I can't escape when you start plotting, but must you do it right outside my door?" Alarai sighed yet again before making a shooing sound at Papina. "If you don't want to be here, then shoo. Go to the park, or the library." She quickly added as Papina started to shut the door to go look for clothes to wear, "And make sure you aren't seen on the way there." Papina rolled her eyes where Alarai couldn't see her, but snagged a cloak her mother got earlier for her, and shot out her door, bouncing with excitement towards the front door. The buds on her head had unfurled, showing a total of three, now razor-sharp looking leaves. She was wearing a rather reveiling outfit, all things considering, and... "Papina! Please tell me you're wearing support!" Papina stopped to turn and stare blankly at Alarai for a moment before shifting the belt up higher, and was reaching for the handle... "And put on that cloak!" before whipping the cloak over her form, yanking the door out, and bolting for the quiet of the library. Who knows? Maybe Reign or one of the other scroll kids would be there.

..:: Journal Role Play: One Crisis Over... ::.. Takes Place After Metaplot :: Rescue! Alarai was waiting for Papina when she finally came home from the library, elated, yet furious. Elated because Nara was back... furious at the Templars for what they did to Nara. Hopefully her mother wouldn't ask too many questions, now that she was dry and clean again. The people at Museaum were very nice in finding the time to get her clothes clean and dry, and she had spent that cloth-less time getting herself clean and dry. She paused in front of the door leading into the house, frozen at the thought that perhaps she should think first on what to say instead of making her mother even more unhappy. She sighed and turned around to sit on the steps, trying to think of just what to say. Of course, Alarai had been worried about her and had been watching for her out a window. So when she saw Papina come home, she went to the front door and stood ready to start a unleash a combination of fear and anger in a vocal barrage.
((I am putting this post in for when I finally figure out just what I want to post. This will happen after Papina comes home from the metaplot, and Alarai will be furious that 1) Alarai didn't call on time, 2) Someone other then Papina finally talked to her, simply to say that cell phones didn't work where they supposedly were, and 3) Papina didn't call to say she was done before she came home. So somewhere in here Papina will be lightly grounded, manage to convince Alarai that what she did was a good thing and then proceed to tell her what happened, upon which she will have to find a way to keep Alarai from going after the Templars. Not sure how at the moment... I just want to get this post set up so I can do other posts afterwards for when my muse finally feels like it.))

..:: Journal Role Play: WAITAMINUTE! ::.. Takes Place Immediately After Unsealing: Nara and Luna Papina stared at the door as it clicked shut behind Nara's fleeing form. Luna heaved a sad sigh before she removed her thumb long enough to say, "Almost-Mommy wan way..." Papina turned to look at Luna as Alarai paused in place before they both blinked at her. That would explain why Nara left in a hurry, Alarai mused. After all, she always seemed anxious when she asked if the new guardian wanted to keep the child or not once they were unsealed... Papina walked over to Luna and knelt down to look at the toddler eye to eye. "If Nara is Almost-Mommy, who am I?" Luna looked blankly at Papina for a moment before her eyes lit up. "Sister!" Alarai chuckled before she started to move again towards the kitchen, hoping she still had some formula for Luna. Papina hadn't needed nearly as much as she had thought, since she had been unsealed at an older age then Luna had. Papina raised an eyebrow at Luna's excited response as she followed her mother and new sibling into the kitchen. Alarai passed Luna over to Papina, freeing both arms to she could rummage around in first the fridge, then the cabinets.
Papina blinked at Luna as Luna blinked at Papina, the two both taking in the sight of the other. Luna had been unsealed in a one-piece pajama outfit that could have past as a deep blue jumpsuit. There were silver stars and moons all over Luna’s outfit, giving a hint as to what scroll she had been unsealed from. Luna had gotten lucky, having been unsealed with a blanket. Much easier to keep around than old clothes that didn’t even fit anymore. Luna started to fuss, trying to pull herself higher. Papina tilted her head down as she hefted the child up higher. Big mistake. Luna reached out and grabbed hold of the leaves on her head before she dragged them towards herself, stuck them in her mouth, and bit down. Papina let out a yell of shock, pain, and a tinge of anger, trying to pull Luna away from her. It only made her poor injured leaves hurt worse. Papina felt tears come to her eyes as Luna spat the abused leaves out and made a face.
Meanwhile, Alarai hurried to find some formula, hoping that something to eat would keep Luna from tasting everything. She finally found some formula in one of the upper cabinets and brought it down, taking a glance at the back to try and remember how to make it. She zipped around the kitchen, getting everything together. She finally popped the lid onto the bottle and about shoved it into Luna's mouth. Luna promptly started to drink the formula, acting like she had been starving. She quickly finished off the last few drops and yawned, dropping off into a deep slumber, leaving the two to stare at her in amazement. Alarai could only think that she was glad Papina had been unsealed at an older age - toddlers were exhausting. Oh dear, Papina thought, and I have to live with her??? She tenderly touched the leaves on top of her head, whimpering in pain as she devoutly hoped that she could keep Luna from doing that again. Alarai simply figured that Papina just figured out that she'd have to live with Luna.

..:: Journal Role Play: Shopping For Those... ::.. Takes Place During Babysitting: Reign and Luna Papina had managed to shove her mother out the door and drag her to the mall, just where her mom had promised to take her. She really needed some new clothes, and maybe she could get that new belt she had been eyeing. Alarai, however, was blushing madly, yet she managed to tug on one of Papina's sleeves, directing the ivy girl to follow her. She half-led, half-dragged the poor confused teen past clothing featuring several hot fashion trends and towards the back, where the undergarments were. Papina started to blush as she got a notion of where they were going, and by the time they were among the undergarments, her checks were a bright red. "Mom?" she managed to squeak, hoping they were just lost. One look at Alarai's face, however, forced her to see that they were not lost, they were supposed to be here. She groaned as Alarai dragged her towards a display of... bras. "Papina, " Alarai began nervously. Did all parents hove to go through this with their kids? "You’re starting to grow up and…" she blushed slightly. Papina, however, had heard tidbits from Reign on the matter and quickly caught on. "And we need to get me some more… mature… items, right?" Alarai blinked at her daughter. Perhaps this wouldn't be as bad as she thought. "Right. So, let's see, you would be a..." She rumaged through the display before holding up several different bras for her daughter to try out. "Go try these on and tell me which one fits best, ok?" Papina's blush renewed itself as she went towards the fitting rooms to try them on. She came back several minutes later with two groups and handed one back to her mom. "These fit best," she hefted the group she still had as she said this. Alarai nodded and gave the one group to the person at the counter to clean and put back up for sale. She then turned to Papina, who followed with the other set, and directed her to follow to the check out. "Now, Papina, was there any one other thing you wanted to get?" Papina's eyes lit up and she raced off to get that belt while the cashier started to check out their items. The ivy girl came back in time to add the belt to the pile before the cashier finished. Alarai checked the belt, nodded, and let the cashier ring it up. "Alright, that's all for now. We can get more later. For now, we need to get home and see how Reign is doing with Luna, ok?" Papina sighed, but nodded. At least she got a belt out of this. Alarai took the bagged purchases from the cashier and led Papina out of the store and took the two of them home.

..:: Journal Role Play: How Can I Hide That? ::.. Takes Place Before Growth Papina looked more closely at herself in the bathroom mirror, her eyes filled with worry. Were those suppose to do that? One hand came up and her fingertips brushed lightly at the red lines that were starting to replace her dark green patterns. She had to hide them. At least the visible ones. Her mother would worry otherwise and not only take her to see Nara - which she wasn't sure Nara was up to still - but she would also forbid both her and Luna to leave the house for 'quarantine' supposedly. And Papina doubted that anyone else would have their patterns slowly turn to red - starting at the tips- just from coming into contact with her. But how was she to hide them? Her mother would notice if the patterns suddenly disappeared, and she didn't have access to anything thin enough to mark along the patterns only. Even if she did have access, she wasn't sure she had the patience to trace all of her patterns to get all the red. So what was she to do? Makeup. But how was she to get it all? Ack, this was going to take some thought.
It took a bit, but in the end, she was reduced to carefully going over all the red lines with a thin paintbrush dipped in light green makeup. This was going to severely hamper her time-management plan.
((Basically, the whole point of this is something to show a transfer between teen stage with all green patterns, and adult stage, which will have all red patterns. Papina, however, will be trying to hide this change until something happens that lets everyone know. Just FYI.))
