Goma could not move much so taking the hit was the only option. Yaku's paw hit him and he fell down, pulling on the tail he was attached to.

Smart of, kid....real smart. He smirked as he pulled down on the hyena's tail.

Okay these two were getting serious about this. Jamaa wiped away his tears of laughter and towered over the two. Jamaa was superior in height, being the oldest and the given species, he was sort of above average. He reached down at swatted at Goma's mouth, forcing him to release. The copper brown dog reached down around Yaku's scruff. Goma, still enraged and still competitive, lunged at Jamaa, slashing at his head, messing up his head fur.

Jamaa dropped the hyena down by his side, growled, and pushed Goma back with his paw then brushing his head. "Hey, enough of that." It took me forever to grow this.

Alright, down to business. "Goma, there was a reason why I brought you here instead of Topas. I knew you would not be able to find Ger since today he is at Pride Rock with his Pride. I didn't want Topas to come because he's got a mate to look after. You are perfect for this job." he said. "Goma I want you to stay here in the Elephant Graveyard for me, or at least for a little while. Jamaa wants you to keep an eye on Yaku, understand?" he eyed both of them.

"But! I! But I!"

Jamaa's golden eyes narrowed down at him.

He yelped slightly as Goma pulled on his tail, maybe he should have waited untill he let go to do that... Regardless, he soon found himself being picked up and placed down by Jamaa's side. He glared at Goma as Jamaa spoke, but when he heard the bit about Goma staying in the graveyard he found himself needing to protest.

"What?! Jamaa, I'm fine, really, and besides, if the others find him they might attack him, and we don't want that do we?" He said, though it really was unlikely that the other hyenas would attack him unless they found out that he was staying.

"I'm going to have to agree with Goma on this one, he doesn't have to stay, really!" He said, he did not want the pest around him any more than nessicary.

Jamaa scuffed. "This is more for me than you, Yaku." he said. "I just want him to come, check up on you, and report back to me once and a while. I just want to know that you are alright."

"Besides, you won't even see him."

Goma growled, "Jamaa, I got better things to do. And besides Blue Butt can take care of himself." Goma didn't want to be here in the graveyard. This was so....pointless. "Yaku agrees, I don't need to be here. If you are worried about him so much then check up on him yourself!"

"But I can't, I don't want to inter----" he paused. "I'll talk with you later..." Jamaa turned to Yaku. "Alright, do you want Goma around or not?"

He hesitated, he didn't want Goma around, but he didn't want Jamaa to worry about him either... "Well, if I don't have to see him, its fine with me." He said with a shrug, "Besides, its not me who will get eaten by the other local hyenas, he's small enough to be an easy meal for some of them, and they won't care if he's 'with me' or not." He said, glaring at Goma once again.

"And if he is going to stay, he is not staying with me." He added, wanting to make sure that he had as little to do with him as possible. "I don't want Goma around, but its okay if you want him to just check up on me." He said with a scowl, "As long as he isn't afraid of some much bigger and scarier hyenas that is." He said, smiling mischeviously at Goma.

Goma growled, "There is no way in the Pride Lands will I even be here in the Elephant Graveyard. I'm sorry, but you can get that Pride Lander cub to do it." the black jackal scowled.

"Ger? But he's just a mere cub. He can't escape from here without someone with him." he said, worried for if the cub was to be used. "Besides, you are a jackal you can move around much more quickly."

"Jamaa, say another word and I am leaving."

"But--"

"That's it! I'm leaving!" The jackal stormed off away from the two until he disappeared into the tall grass.

"...." Jamaa was sort of speechless. That put a damper on his plans. "Fine then, I guess I can come by now and again and see you myself." he turned over to Yaku, "rarely, though."

Yakuti watched as Goma argued with Jamaa, he deffinately agreed about Ger not coming, he was lucky to have only met Yakuti the last time around or he would have been killed without a second thought. He watched in surprise as the jackal stormed off into the grass, he figgured Jamaa would have made him stay, but hey, now he didn't have to deal with him, right?

"Better you than him." He said, turning his head back to facing Jamaa, "I'll be glad to see you more often, and don't worry, I'll be fine." He said reassuringly, "I'm getting stronger every day, and there's hardly a chanse of anyone finding my new den, its well hidden, so nobody can get me while I'm asleep."

"Well, I can force him, you know?" he said in a fatherly tone. "Tell you somethin', I think he's older than me." he giggled with a funny grin. It was possible, Jackals lived longer than Wild Dogs and Goma acted much more mature than he did...or did he just act more immature?

"Well..." Jamaa said suspiciously as he laid down. "There was sort of a reason why I didn't want myself to come and see you, Yaku. And it was that very reason why I had to let you go here, too."

He laughed, "If he is, thats gotta be the smallest older-than-Jamaa creature I've ever seen." He said, "But I do know that they don't get very big." He said, not wanting to sound foolish. But the thought of Goma being older than Jamaa was just too strange, mostly because he was so small compared to him.

He cocked his head, "Really? Whats the reason?" He asked curiously, "Why did you have to let me go?"

Jamaa let out a heavy sigh, he didn't think he'd have to tell the hyena this this soon.

"Yaku, you are a hyena. I am a wild dog. We are two different species, I can't take care of you, if I did I would raise you like a wild dog. I had to let you go to the graveyard to be with other hyenas and grown like you should. Yaku, I want you to grow to be a hyena and I fear that my presence could sway you." he explained, a hint of sorrow in his voice. Jamaa didn't want to abandon his son, but it was something that he had to do more for the hyena than himself.

"I have been restricting myself from coming here, I almost could not get myself to come this time." the older canine turned away from his son. "But I still want to be a part of your life."

"You understand, don't you?"

He listened in silence as his friend spoke, only speaking when Jamaa had asked him if he understood. "Jamaa, hyenas and wild dogs... We aren't really that different, are we?" He asked, looking at Jamaa and then looking at himself, or the bits of himself that he could see. He couldn't see many differences.

"Jamaa, I want you to be a part of my life too..." He said sadly, "I-I understand, you're just doing whats best." He said, trying his best not to cry.

"Will I see you again?"

"There aren't any difference, Yaku. But we are different in ways I cannot be and you the same." he said, "I'll be sure to see you now and again, but it can't be a frequent thing. Jamaa doesn't want to hinder your training." he smiled warmly.

"Yaku, are you listening to Mapa?" he asked. From what he can recall, that was the name of the hyena who was caring for Yaku. Jamaa sometimes wished he was able to talk to her, but that may make him mad at Yaku or could get him killed. Jamaa presence to this Mapa would be bad all together for the both of them.

His ears drooped slightly, "I understand Jamaa, but at least I can still see you." He said, trying to smile.

He cocked his head, "You mean Mafa? Yes, she's the alpha, and I do everything she says." He said proudly, "I probably wouldn't be able to stay if I didn't" He said with a chuckle, "And I even brought in a couple of new pack members, I think that made her happy."

"I must return to my own pack now. I bet Temari is worried and....Dhati is probably curious of where the Pack Guardian is..." he said with a little chuckle.

The older dog nuzzled the youngling and followed with a lick. "Keep up with the good work, Yaku. If you ever lose your way, you still have your other home to come back to." he said with a finaly nuzzle. "Jamaa wants you to grow big and strong."

"You know where to find me." with that Jamaa rose to his feet and started back to the Mpinzani pack lands. He will return again someday.

Yakuti nodded and licked Jamaa back, "I will Jamaa, I will." He said reassuringly. Rather as an answer to keeping up the good work and growing big and strong.

He looked at his friend as he got up to leave, "Goodbye Jamaa, until we meet again." he said, himself turning back in the direction of his den and walking, he needed rest, he was rather tired.
