My favorite books are the Song of the Lioness quartet, which also happen to be the first books I read by Tamora Pierce. Allana is still one of my favorite characters. I also like Trickster's Choice, Trickster's Queen, and the Will of the Empress, too.

I like the Song of the Lioness quartet as well. I have a thing for girls who defy everything in their world to be themeselves. (( as you can guess, my favorate movie when I was little was Mulan )) Yeah... if I was in midevil times I would definately have been some sort of woman fighter, no way would I stay at home waiting to be married off to some old, fat, rich man! OH! and I know this is kinda off topic, but the publishers of Eragon hosted an hour long phone call with it's auther, Pierce and someone else (( I can't quite recall his name at the moment, but he was another fantacy writer.)) It was all recorded and written down, then posted on the Eragon website. I found it a funny read, and rather informative about what kind of people the authers I read so much are. For anyone interested heres the link! http://www.alagaesia.com/news_interview.htm

I've enjoyed them all. I know she's working on another book set in the Circle of Magic world, set after Street Magic (but not connected to Will of the Empress), called Melting Stones. She's going to release it as a recorded book first, then let it out in print about a year later, if I understood the blurb from Full Cast Audio (the company producing the book on tape) correctly. www.fullcastaudio.com if you want details. I'm geeked, 'cause then I can share with my other half, who likes to listen, not read.

My favorite used to be the Tricksters series, especially because it was the first of hers that I'd ever read (although it seems pretty unanimous that nobody else thinks they're that good...), but I think It's gone over to Terrier. All the same, I love all of her books.

I just started Sandry's Book the other day. It is my first Tamolra Pierce book and I love it. I want to read all of the circle of magic books, the circle opens, and the circle reforged.

I first read the second book in the Immortals, then went back and read the whole series. Just two months ago I read Song of the Lioness Quartet and Protector of the Small, as well as the Trickster books (most recent). I tried to read Will of the Empress, but as I had never read the Circle of Magic or the Circle Opens, I was confused and gave up. I don't know if my library has the whole series, but I might try to read them...later. I like Protecter of the Small as well as Trickster. I think I like Tricker's Choice and Trickster's Queen because I like the spy stuff and think that spying is a whole new field and deserves a book that includes it.
My favorite, though, is Terrier. I cannot get over how good it is. I read it, and I loved it. The journal format was well-written, and I was very glad to get to read about the Dog life. Sorry if I'm pointing out the obvious, but did anyone else notice how Peirce is probably trying to link Alanna and Beka? There are similarities everywhere.
1. The purple-eyed cats, Faithful and Pounce. Alanna's friends wanted to name Faithful Pounce instead, but she didn't. Then Pounce shows up with Beka. So will Beka be god-touched like Alanna?
2. Rebakka Cooper and George Cooper (Alanna's husband) have the same last name, so it's pretty obvious that Beka is probably George's anscestor.
3. In the very beginning of Terrier, the little Cooper boy was a thief, and George was the Rogue. I'm wondering if Beka marries/has a kid with the Rogue in her time (forgot his name gonk ), and George gets it from him.
Not as many similarities as I thought, but it's only the first book, and the points were good ones.

I enjoy all her books. The circle series were the first I read. The Alanna series are the ones I re-read the most often. I like the new format of her Terrier book, but I hope she doesn't carry it over to the circle series.
I enjoy the circle books centered around Tris and Briar more than the ones about Daja and Sandry. George, Briar, Neal, Numair, and Dom are my favorite male characters, in that order. Kel, Alanna, Tris, Aly, Bekka, Thayet, Buri, Daine, and Rosethorne are my favorite female characters, in that order. WARNING~~SPOILER FOR TERRIER~~WARNINGgreenrider_calidar 1. The purple-eyed cats, Faithful and Pounce. Alanna's friends wanted to name Faithful Pounce instead, but she didn't. Then Pounce shows up with Beka. So will Beka be god-touched like Alanna? 2. In the very beginning of Terrier, the little Cooper boy was a thief, and George was the Rogue. I'm wondering if Beka marries/has a kid with the Rogue in her time (forgot his name gonk ), and George gets it from him. 1. Yes, Faithful and Pounce are the same cat/god; the book is pretty direct about it. 2. Bekka is indeed George's ancestor; the parts set in George's childhood clearly state as much. 3. That is something I was wondering about as well. Obviously, from the way George's mom talked, she didn't know (if he is an ancestor). The only conclusions I can draw from this are that, if they do have a child together, the family covers his part of their heritage up for shame early on OR They never marry or are married for an extremely short time.

I loved Protector of the Small. Kel was the "strong female character" type I needed in junior high and I still love her and the stories. I enjoyed the Circle of Magic books. I just did. Many Characters, and story lines all woven together. I read the Immortals and thought it was pretty good. I guess I didn't like them quite as much as I liked the others but they were good also.

I finally read The Will of the Empress and got my spouse to listen to it! Whee! Small spoiler: I do so love see someone told "no" who thought no one ever had to guts/power to tell them no.
Now I'm geeked for him to finish Melting Stones, so I can steal it from him.
