Gently taking the flowers within her hands, she returned his smile, ears twitching a bit as she (rather cliche-ly) lowered her nose to smell the flowers. "You're right...flowers aren't scary...except, you know, the ones that eat you, eh?" The touch to her face would've scared her roo half, but seeing as how she was, for the most part, in control, she enjoyed the feeling, and didn't worry about being scared for at least once in the past few days.
"You know...maybe we should go somewhere. I mean, there's not any guarantee that I'll be okay by myself, but maybe if I'm with people I know...I mean...well, I can't be scared of everything forever, right?" Smiling weakly, she stood, her stance awkward on account of her feet. Taking a moment to regain her balance, she turned to look back at him with an embarassed grin. "Not to mention I have to get used to walking like this."

Gaius watched her get up, tensed and ready to catch her if she should fall, but when she managed on her own, a relieved smile spread across his face. Maybe... it wouldn't be so bad! "Well, at least they're legs! I think we're both grateful for that." Pushing himself up, he walked over beside her, offering his hand. Going out would be the best first step, but after their recent squabble, he was hesitant to force anything on her. His eyes studied her face with concern.
"...Are you sure you're ready to go out? I mean, I think you look nice as you are, but if your instincts are as strong as you claim... I just don't want you to feel endangered."

Sophie nodded, trying a few times to tuck her hair behind her ears, but after a few failings, just let it fall in her face. "That's why I don't want to be out there by myself...I think I'll be fine if someone's reminding me that no one's hungry for half-roo."
She smiled at the compliment, then laughed weakly. "Y'know, Gaius, sometimes I wonder if you were into animals before you got to the Island, or you're just trying to flatter me. You're the only person I've ever met who said fur looked good on a girl, and didn't mean a coat." It was a tease, of course, and her smile turned into a playful grin. After all this, she wanted to see him explain himself out of this predicament.

Gaius snorted indignantly and straightened up. "I was not! I liked my girls smooth and human!" His expression lightened and he cracked a smile back at Sophie. "I think it's the island that's changed that view..." It was rather hard to be picky when all the girls were either sprouting fur or growing scales all over, but that thought he kept to himself. He shrugged lightly. "Maybe it's instincts influencing my tastes..."
He opened the door for her and smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry. I promise I'll keep you safe from any nasty roo-eating flowers! Though with those big feet I bet you could take down Jamal easily," he added with a laugh.

"Uh-huh, sure, Gaius, I'm suddenly the master of kickboxing now that I have incredibly large feet. I'm just hiding my gloves in my pouch so no one would suspect." Grinning smugly in her sarcasm, she began to shuffle her way out the door when she decided that there was no way a living person could move so slow, except for perhaps the snail-man. She had very few options: one of them was to hop, and there was no way she was doing that, either. So, re-balancing herself on the tips of her toes, she found that two years of pre-school dancing had finally come in handy, and even though it added about an inch to her height, at least she could walk with some sense of normalcy.
"Y'know, at some point I think I'm gonna half to start walking backwards, like with flippers or something...this is ridiculous..." ((So...wanna fastforward to the beach and try and get Marshall in here?))

"Hey, just saying you might have an advantage... wait, you have a POUCH?!" he squawked in shock. The door closed behind him.
(Sure, though I don't think Marshall's around right now. He's still on vacation stuff and won't be back fully until the 7th XD We can try, though!)
The water was calm in the late afternoon, sparkling sky blue lapping against the hot white sand. The worst of the day's heat had begun to abate, but it was still enough to send Gaius and Sophie seaking shelter under the eaves of the beach bar. The horse-man busied himself behind the counter, pulling out ingredients and setting them in a neat line. Standing back up, he flashed Sophie with a boyish smile and tilted his head. "So, what might I make for you? What about an Australian Virgin?" he teased.

The kangaroo girl tilted her head in the opposite direction as a response, her hair bouncing in the wind as a smile lit up her face. "Sorry, but I'm not a cannibal: no Australian virgins for me. I'm willing to bet that there's some sparkling cran-apple back there, though..." Peering at the contents that he had thus far pulled out, she shook her head, laughing. "After all, I may not be fun, but at least I don't have any of that stuff running through my veins..."
She looked out to the beach, enjoying the breeze as it ruffled up her fur. "You know...it's really quiet out here. I can't even smell any recent walk-throughs. Do you think maybe something's going on in the rec room?"

Gaius chuckled, complying. There was a bottle of cran-apple kept in the cooler, which he pulled out. Gripping the top with his finger-tips, he pulled it off with a *pop!*, a nifty party trick he'd recently picked up with his peculiar hands. As he poured out a glass for both of them, he glanced out at the wide stretch of beach. It really was empty, as if there was only the two of them on the island...
"It's relaxing, isn't it? Having the beach all to ourselves... a bit of privacy..." He pushed the drink into her hand and smiled, letting his fingers brush hers briefly. "Do you remember when we were first here? When we first met? We were dancing, and you were smiling so brightly..."

Sipping the drink, Sophie scooted closer to the counter, as if she was enthralled with the story he was telling. Granted, she knew all of it from her end, but flattery was the best thing to re-inflate one's self esteem after growing a good bit of fur, and she was content to listen.
"Yeah, but the only reason I was smiling so much was because I was so nervous about meeting other guys on the Island that I'd snuck over to the counter and tried to mix a drink for myself. Turns out I'd used too much alcohol and not enough mixer." She laughed, then took another sip before continuing. "So then we danced, and the strobe lights set off my narcolepsy, and I fell over, right on the dance floor." As she talked, she mimed the entire story with her fingers, enjoying herself in her own telling.
"So, yeah, I think I still remember."

Bad timing. It was some thing no one liked. It could ruin some thing you cook. Or a really good joke. Or make a rather intimate moment...Just plain akward.
Marshall was in the Arcade, finishing up a game of Dance Dance Revolution. While every one was convinced that the Gym was the only place on the Island to get a good work-out, Marshall had found that this dance-sim gave him more of a work-out than any thing.
YOU ARE A MASTER! screamed the recorded, annoyingly perky voice.
"You damn right I am!" Marshall snickered, jumping off the Machine, and finally realised that he was, indeed, thirsty. But he wasn't really in the mood for an Orange Juice or Ice Water. He wanted some thing...stronger. A beer sounded good.
With his usual smile, Marshall walked towards the only place he knew he could get a beer: The Beach Bar. Forcing open the door with out caution, he stepped into the rather silly decorated room...
...And became a victim of Bad Timing.
"Um...Hey there." he said, seeing Gaius and Sophie.

Miller had only been on the island a few hours. After recevieing a shot for a rare 'island flue virus' he had been granted permision to wander the island.
With out much care other then the nagging sense that no one was around he wandered the island bounceing the lacrosse ball between rocks and trees snatching it back with his stick.
Though of course he wasn't the best, so at one point the ball bounced high missing the stick and rolling through the underbrush and on to the beach. He followed after it not yet noticeing the three over by the bar. He was more worried about getting the ball before the water took it.
"Damn, I don't want to have to grab another one from my room..."

Gaius chuckled, remembering that particular event of the dance well. "And then I had to pick you up and carry you back over to the bar! And then-" he paused, interrupted by the arrival of his best, if sometimes annoying, friend. Gaius pulled back from Sophie, somehow feeling guilty for being caught leaning so close to her across the counter.
"Uh!" he squeaked, "Marshall! H-hey there! You came for a drink or something?"
Inwardly he winced, hoping Sophie wouldn't panic, what with her new body which Marshall likely hadn't seen yet.
The other new-comer on the beach barely registered on his senses, his horse side noting him out of habit and checking him off as low on the threat scale. Still, one of his ears twitched to follow the guy's voice.

Sophie had been so caught up by the story that the arrival of a foreign voice came as a shock to her, causing her to cry a rather loud form of 'MEEP!' and nearly falling out of her chair in the process. With a sharp turn, she faced the newcomer, and had to stare at him for a moment before she comprehended it was Marshall, and spent a moment longer becoming self-conscious of her new appearance.
"Oh...uhm...Hi, Marshall...long time no see, eh?" She giggled nervously, her heart still in her throat and pounding as her ears twitched in an irritable fashion. Had she not been scared out of her wits momentarily, she would've noticed Gaius's instant withdrawal, but for now she didn't seem to mind. She was too busy concentrating on not thinking of the things probably running through the younger man's mind.
"So...how's Iona been, eh? I...um, haven't seen her...in a while, y'know?"

"Um...Uhhh...She's...Fine..." Marshall said, rubbing the back of his neck. Okay, so Sophie had changed AGAIN, Gaius was at 25%, and Marshall...Still looked perfectly normal. Of course THIS wasn't akward!
"So...Um...Are you two in the middle of some thing? 'Cause I can go and stuff and..." akwardly, Marshall walked out backwards, not noticing the young teenager picking up a Lacrosse Ball...
"WHOOPS!"

Miller had gotten the ball just in time, as he scooped it up from the sand he heard voices. Finally some other people at the camp.
Of course as he stood to look up Marshall walked right in to him sending them both in to the water now. "Oie! Watch where you're going man!" he struggled to get up and out of the warm water, he hated being wet unintentionaly.
After getting up he offered a hand to Marshall pulling him up before turning to face the others and stoping, he was a fan of the internet, he had seen his share of anthro arts. But why in gods green earth did that girl have FUR on her arms!?
"What the f-"
