Kei blinks, seeming surprised that A: a stranger is being so forward and polite to her, and B: that she's wandered around without even knowing where she ended up. "Eh? We're in an outlying province of Quitaho. I don't remember the name of the place...but I think we're actually close to Niyahan territory. That's...where I was going anyway. Do you not know your way, Liyana?"

Gathering up his things, Wallace sets out in search of something to eat. He moves quickly through the forest until he reached a familiar clearing. He noticed a deer in the clearing. He salivated as he quickly readied his bow.

"Of course I know my way around," she lied, realizing that she should be more cautious with her new acquaintance. "I was just on my way to Niyahan as well." In reality, she had hardly ever been outside of Meatara.

After shooting the deer, Wallace dragged it back to his cabin and skinned and cleaned it. He prepared a small fire and began stripping the meat from the bone.

Kei just grins and leans against a nearby tree trunk. "Are you sure you know what you're talking about?" Her hand casually lingers on the hilt of her sword. If she plays this right, she could take advantage of this stranger's directionlessness.
"Are you going to see anyone in Niyaha? Or have anybody travelling with you that might know you, or know where you are?"

"I was sent to Niyaha by my people, to meet with their leader. My people believed that my peaceable ways would make the best connection with the people of Niyaha." Liyana bent to pick up her staff, preparing to walk further down the trail to attempt to find her way back home.

"Hmm? You certainly don't travel like an ambassador..." Kei grinned and stood ready, finding the elf's purse with her peripheral vision. It'd be a quick and bloodless cut-and-run. Ambassador or not, mages tended to have loads of cash...

Liyana instinctively clutched her purse close to her body and sent a mental warning to Kei. "Don't even think of touching me," the thought said, "just please help me get to where I need to be."

Having eaten his fill, Wallace smoked the rest of the meat and began cleaning the deer's fur, letting the fire slowly die. He made a not to himself to gether more wood.

Kei frowned and sighed. "Didn't I tell you to stay out of my mind? Whatever...I guess I'll travel with you. Your magick tricks probably can't ward off all of us petty thieves." She says this last with a bit of sarcasm, but it's clear that she won't try anything else. "I guess...to Niyaha, we go!" she continues cheerily, and begins to walk, picking up her ruck back where she left it, shouldering it without breaking pace, and--stoppping quickly. "Do you smell that? It smells like..." she sniffs, "Cooking meat!" she veers quickly in the direction of the smell.

Liyana was able to keep stride with her new companion as they made their way toward the smell of the meat. She didn't have a good feeling about what she would find cooking...

Letting the fire die, Wallace began wrapping the smoked meat in a piece of cloth he had stolen from some traveller. Taking some meat with him, he put the rest inside the cabin and set out to gather some wood for the night's fire.

Making sure to keep track of where the path is in relation to them, she leads the way toward the savory scent of food. Coming up on a makeshift looking cabin, she signals for Liyana to stop behind her and duck. "I'll be right back!" she begins looking in windows or such openings to see if anyone's home, and where exactly the food is located.

Before getting very far, Wallace thought he heard soft voices and someone approaching his cabin. Quietly making his way back in the direction of his cabin, he noticed a strange lady looking around it. Unsure of what she was doing, he decided to hide and observe her. He decided that if he left her alone, she would go away without disrupting his home.
