Dont try to raise skills just to have them high! Let them rise naturally, as you progress through the game! If you're worried about having a low Marksman skill becuase you dont use it as often as youre other skills, find a trainer!

i'm going to have to agree
the low level trainer is in bruma in one of the shops i think
the mid level trainer is out side skingrad(sp)
and i have yet to find the master trainer but i hear you'll need an elven bow to get her to train you

There is a midlevel trainer in Anvil, Pinarius Inventius. If you become advanced in the skill, any midlevel trainer will tell you where the master trainer is. She is just outside of Anvil to the southeast in Troll Camp. She's hard to catch though, and you do need an elven bow.

The Night Mother shall wrap you in her cold, loving embrace...

Unfortunately, she does have the habit of going out and getting killed. Unfortunate for the xbox360 players -.-
PC players can remedy the situation by doing the following:
1. Go to Troll Candle Camp.
2. In the Console, enter player.placeatme 0003C15F

...And may Sithis have mercy on your soul.

In my opinion the marksmen skill is practically useless. This game just wasn't made for using a bow and arrow.... confused

There isn't any better way to cheese train it than to shoot your bow at an important character. I recommend getting shadowmere from the dark brother hood quests since you can always have her nearby. As far as I know, shooting a living thing gives more experience than hitting a target, so I figure killing shadowmere over and over is the best way to do it.

Its so weird...everytime I level up my marksman is right after the thing I was fighting is dead. I always accidentally shoot a tree with that last "oops he's dead already" shot.

You can find trainers, or just practice on enemies, if you have any conjuring skills, summon a creature(no undeads) and practice on them..
