Tala cursed under his breath.
darn...spotted.
Stepping out from behind the rock, he saw a large male, with markings, almost as strange as his. Smiling, and bowing, as was proper, he spoke. "my name is Tala, sir. i have no parents, that i'm willing to speak of anyway. I have no pride, and never have had one. I guess, you could say i'm a traveler." Eyes locked with the much larger male, her gave a nod, as if to confirm his statement.

Rounce padded close to the borders of the new pride. He didn't realize it had been claimed, he was just wandering around. His blue orbs scanned the area ahead of him, trained on everything in his path. The female roar rang about him and he shot around. He saw all of the other lions now. Another pride... They're everywhere! he thought. He wasn't in a pride yet.. Some warrior I am.. nothing to protect but myself. Why am I not in a pride yet? he would ask himself almost daily. Maybe he should just keep walking. They seemed like they had enough going on already...

Ballad eyed the lad and smiled. "Well met Tala, and I am sorry you have no home or Pride. You may stay here, if you so wish.. But all within these lands are subject to my rule... "
He fixed a keen silver eye on the cub. "Is that a problem?"
Whistle settled her cubs within the Den, and then stepped back out into the free air. Her silver eyes danced over the Pride Lands, her mate, the cub he spoke to, and then to a cub that stepped along the borders. With a simple surge of her muscles, she was running through the trees and comming to a halt before the cub. "What brings you to these lands, my lad?"

The great grey brute of a lion stalked the Pride Lands, his bulky form making him seem more menacing than he truely was. Sumner, the slightly over-sized male, had departed his wandering mother, seeking to try pride life out for himself, as opposed to basing his ideas on her often negative words.
He could tell he had reached a border, and immediately stopped. "No sense in getting myself into trouble..." he said to no one in particular, and probably to himself or the wild. A roar erupted from his maw as his chest deflated, announcing - rather brutishly - to the pride that he requested a meeting with the king.
Sumner was not your average male lion. He stood a good five or six inches over most adult males, and had the muscles to match that size. He was truely frightening in appearance to those that didn't know him. However, his personality matched his figure as much as a square fits into a circle half it's size. He was quiet and harmless. He preferred the company of nature than of other lions. Which was conviniant, since his monstrous appearance scared most others away.

Tala shook his head.
"of course not, sir." he said bowing. "is it you alone? or do you have more lions with you?" he asked, eyes fixed on the much larger lion.

Rounce watched as the glowing lioness came to a stop before him and bowed his head. "I'm sorry for any intrusion I may havemade, I was just wandering around as always and didn't realize that these lands were claimed. My apologies," He lifted his head and looked into her eyes without fear, just as he thought a warrior would.

Ballad smiled. "Very well... If you head toward the Den, my mate should be there to meet you... My children are also here."
The great solar male pinned his ears, head jerking up at the sound of another male's roar. He gave a low growl, unsettled by the brute force of the roar. What if his cubs were sleeping? No matter.
"If you excuse me Tala, I must go see to the newcommer." With a final smile he turned away and slipped into a graceful, ground-eating run. Slowing as he exited the Oasis and came to the border, he fixed silver eyes on the new male.
"Greetings Wanderer."
Whistle tilted her head slightly, listening to the newcommer's roar, and then the distant sound of her mate's voice. Turning her attention back to the cub, she gave a gentle smile.
"No intrusion, Young Wanderer." She gave a soft laugh. "What do they call you, Brave One? I am Whistle, Queen of Temple's Decorations."

Tala's eyes widened at the roar.
woah...he sounds HUGE...
realizing that he might want to head toward the den, he poked his head over the rock, and spotted the den. Bounding of toward the den, he smiled.
i wonder what his mate and childern are like...if their anything like him, i think i'll be fine.

Rounce bowed his head again. "I'm Rounce of the Ancient Rocks, Queen Whistle. I guess I sorta dubbed myself that," he scratched the back of his head and grinned. "I never had a pride to title myself with so I made a title up."

Sumner bowed low to the ground as the king approached. Before rising, he replied, "Greetings. You are the king, I presume?" He lifted his eyes, then slowly his head. when he spoke, his voice was gruff, but behind the thick layer of such, gentle and soft. "I hope I don't intrude."

PyreDancer sat at the mouth of the Den, keeping watch as her siblings slept. The sun was out, and with its appearance, Cas and Tess's stregth had melted away. Less affected by the golden rays, Pyre kept watch for entruders.
Within a few moments of her mother's departure from the Den, Pyre noted a blue-coated cub making his way toward the Den.
'Who on earth?' She wondered.
Whistle smiled. "How clever... Ancient Rocks? Is that a personal title, or the title of what will one day be your Pride?"
She tilted her head as she considered the cub, wondering where his family was, why he had been abandoned. He didn't seem like such a bad little fellow at all.
Ballad smiled and bowed his head slightly. "Yes, I am the King of these lands. And no, there is no intrusion.. How can I assist you?"

Tala bounded up on to a rock, not to far from the mouth of the den. He caught site of the and smiled.
that must be one of his children..he thought.
hopping off the rock, he headed toward the den.
time to make a new friend.

"Personal title," Rounce shrugged. "I want to be a warrior, I don't think I really fit into the king title," he smiledand rubbed the pawprint on his cheek. He felt destined to be a warrior.. nothing else.

With a slight shift of his weight, he worked a reply to the king, "I've been wandering for some time, in search of a pride to reside in. My mother spoke badly of them, and before passing judgement, I wished to experience the life for myself. I then came upon your pride, which seemed small by scent and sound, and thought that, if by the king's permission, it would be a pleasant place to live." As gruff as his realistically gentle voice sounded, the eloquent words flowed from his maw flawlessly. They shewed no sign of of the monster he otherwise appeared to be - a task he had applied himself to after discovering his beastly state.
