onifiredemon Dances with Squirrels No, even if I did want to, I'm far too old to be a professional ballet dancer. Pros start dancing when they're five, and move on to pointe when they're 12 or so. This is only my third season of ballet, and I hope to start pointe work next year. I'm 21 already. ^^; So I don't think it's in my cards. one of the best started when she was 19. so there is still a chance i get. i could go pro if i keep up with ballet, but i have so many things different things going on right now that i can't commite a few hours every night. sad Will you tell me who that was?

i would like to become a professional dancer. but i started at age 10 and now i am 15 and i am still not too good. the director at my school would laugh at me too if i said i wanted to be professional. i am not even in any of the special companies at my school. i have a long way to go.

Well, I would like to go pro, and my teacher says that me and this other person, Sophie have a lot of potintiol, but I am only 12 so I have a while to go! stare But if she decides I am good enough, then I will get to be in the company as an apprentice! biggrin I have been dancing for almost 7 years but have only been on pointe for 1, so I think that helps! blaugh

Well, I do want to be a professional choreographer one day, ballet was never my thing (i just started last year, but have been doing modern for 3 years). My instructors say that i have phenominal talent as a male dancer, and i'll most likely succeed in a dance career. They say i have this "knack" for knowing what a pieces needs to make a spectacular show. I've choreographed a good 25-30 pieces/phrases these past 3years, and i was proud of a good number of 'em. So, yeah definately, i would like to go pro!!! blaugh blaugh

I want to be a pro! That is actually my dream, to be a pro dancer, go to the university of washington (hey, its close) and be a dance major, then dance with pnb (pacific northwest ballet) and eventually when I've reached the getting on the old side age, teach at the dance school i currently attend and assist at. That would be my perfect life. ^.^

I think it would be fun to dance there, even though it is really risky trying out to get in! And they have some nice ballets that they do, even though I like my Ballets version of the Nutcracker! (we don't use a wooden mouse, we use this guy that can do all these amazing flips on the stage!)

I started when I was 9, and 6 years later I'm already ahead of everyone else my age. The only thing is, it take up soooo much time. I usually have to put in 3-4 hours a day. My teachers are pushing me to go pro...but I'm not so sure. I was in the Great Russian Nutcracker last year with the Moscow Ballet, and I HATED it. Cause we had 6-hour rehearsals every day. And I get the feeling that when I'm older I'm going to wish I hadn't abused my feet with pointe shoes.
