The hook and tamborine watched in silence as words were exchanged and a new guardian, Grumpy's mother, it seemed, arrived and went to check on the little raincloud.
Selfish child... Hook murmured, thinking of Olivia's explaination. She shouldn't pretend to understand adult affairs...
And neither should you, Esme replied. Come on, Grumpy doesn't seem too good...I hope he's alright, poor guy...
I find it so strange how all the other guardians seem to fuss over their children like mothers, and yet ours acts more like a child than any of us do. I mean of course there are times she might try to be one, but she just doesn't have the authority...pirate or not, I'm not going to obey the commands of a little girl, no matter what form I'm in.
She's got more power than you think, but nevermind that. She flew over to where Jem, Sophie, and Grumpy were gathered. I never knew the great Captain Hook ever wanted a mother... she teased.
James didn't answer. He had never known his mother, being the b*****d son of a Lord. But even now, he could hardly remember his father. Not that it mattered. His father had hardly ever spent time with him anyway.
All the love and affection the guardians displayed for their children served to both stir Hook's thoughts and make him a little envious. He floated up to Kazu and hovered about her head, wishing he could do something to cheer her up.

"I dont understand.." said Kazu, completely confused by the girl's words. "And what do you mean you lied?" Kazu's face flushed, a slight pang in her chest caught her by suprise as the werewolf spoke.
How could someone care so little about someone who was family?
"Whats wrong with love? You cant tell me you dont feel it at all." Kazu almost went as far in her words to sound sorry for Olivia;; but of course in light of these events, it was hardly possible.
Just then, Kazu noticed Sophie;; who didnt appear entirely happy with the situation. Kazu decided it was better not to say anything unless something was said to her.
Kazu took notice of the other two items approaching, and smiled slightly when the hook floated over her head;; feeling that he was actually in some way trying to comfort her.
"Grumpy?"
The glow faded lower.

"What did I do, Jem...?" Grumpy asked quietly, thinking as though he were in some way to blame for the mishap. The little cloud settled in his mother's open hands, color fading to a dark gray to show his mood.
Sophie sat down on the ground for a moment, not saying anything. She could tell that the cloud was distressed, and she didn't know why. Well, she had a hunch that it had something to do with Olivia, and that didn't make her happy at all.
The spirit looked up and over at Kazu, eyes filled with concern.
"What happened here..."

Though she was not yet human, Jem felt her heart breaking at how sad her friend seemed. All she wanted to do was be able to hug him and tell him everything was okay...
"You didnt do anything wrong, Grumpy. Don't blame yourself over anything that spiteful little girl says."
She floated closer to Grumpy, her glow softening to show concern;; as there wasnt much else she could do.
'I wish I could do more..' she thought sadly.
Surpised at how calmly Sophie reacted to Kazu's presence, (as they hadnt left eachother on a very positive note at their last encounter,) Kazu remained silent for a moment;; not even thinking the question was directed at her.
When it became apparent that it was infact towards her, she answered, watching the weregirl out of the corner of her eye.
"I honestly dont know, Sophie. Jem got away from me for a little while, so I came looking for her. When I got here, this girl was trying to put Grumpy into a glass jar. She had a friend here too, but she left."
Still facing Sophie, Kazu repeated her question to the weregirl. "What do you mean you lied?"

Esme hovered near Jem and Grumpy, unsure of how to help. She felt so helpless. None of this is your fault, Grumpy. She's only jealous of you...and jealousy can cause people to do horrible things.

Sophie's ringed tail twitched as she turned to look at Olivia, looking rather confused. "Why would you try to do such a thing to him? He can't defend himself, and he hasn't done anything to you... Or Raine... as I'm assuming she was probably your accomplice in the matter..."
The spirit appeared to be hurt, which was quite a change from her normal don't-give-a-care attitude about things.
"You'll find out later anyway, so I don't feel the need to waste my breath now. Why? Would you punish me?" A smirk crept onto the girl's generally masked face, and it looked rather scary.
"...Somehow I think not. Anyway..."
Olivia turned back to Kazu at this point, the smirk fading away.
"To answer your question, human, if you remember at the beginning I told you that he was my brother and some other such nonsense. I lied. He isn't now, nor will he ever be my brother. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I shall be going home."
The were-hybrid disappeared into the shadows of Traverse Town, leaving the tension behind, hanging in the air.
Grumpy sighed. "No... it is my fault... You heard what she said, right? If me and my mom were gone, maybe the others would be happy...
Besides, why would she be jealous of me?"

I'm just going to post again to make up for the one I missed...))
Esme became confused. The two were-children...were they not the daughters of this spirit, Sophie, who also appeared to be Grumpy's mother? Or did they have their own mother?
Something else was going on here. She only wished she could understand, but as Jem seemed the only one to have previously met the little raincloud, she couldn't understand the whole situation.
As if sensing her distress, Hook spoke, scattering her thoughts. Leave him be. This is none of our business. It seems appearent Grumpy and his 'mother' don't really mix well with those girls...is their any reason they should want to stay? Grumpy, you wouldn't exactly call those girls family, now would you?
Be quiet, Hook. You don't know the meaning of the word family. I never had a true family, but I lived together with many other kind, lonely people. They became my family and were as important to me as if we were all related. Just because they may not be related to him doesn't mean they're not his family, no matter what that girl may say. Esme snapped at him. She could be quite vicious when angry.

Kazu was so suprised with the were-girls outlandish behaviour that she didnt have much to say. She merely stood there, stunned.
Jem, on the other hand, had plenty to say.
"Grumpy," she said, her attention on the little cloud but her 'eyes' on her guardian, "She's jealous because you have someone who loves you and cares for you. I'm sure Shiori cares for her too, but maybe she doesnt see it. She's a bitter little girl, which is really quite sad."
Jem forced her coloring brighter as a way of comforting Grumpy, but she wasnt sure it would. Hopefully, it would do something cause it was taking alot out of her just trying to muster the strength;; why was she so tired?
Jem half-heard the conversation between Hook and Esme, and for what she heard, it wasnt pleasent.
"Guys, please. Grumpy doesnt need any more negativity around him right now." She sighed, hoping she didnt sound aggrivated, but knowing she probably did.
Torn between who needed comfort more, Jem took it upon herself to check on Kazu. She floated over to her, hovering in front of her and holding a pleasent glow.
"I'm sorry."
Having Jem in front of her again, and not merely in her vacinity, made Kazu calm down. Her shoulders relaxed, and there was even a hint of a smile showing in the corner of her mouth.
"You had me worried, little one."

The little cloud didn't respond. He just sat in his caretaker's hands, rumbling quietly.
The spirit rose to her feet, and turned her back to Kazu and the items, fluorescent wings fluttering gently. She seemed to be just as affected by the child's words as Grumpy was, though she appeared more thoughtful than upset.
"Thank you for being here with him. I can only imagine what could have happened were he alone."
She directed the question at the entire group, before turning her head to glance at them all briefly. Without another word, she walked away in the direction Olivia had gone, disappearing from sight.
((And now SMD is off to write journal entries and RP posts. Nyah. <3 Olivia is so angsty.))
