I said that I like your eyes. Even though you have no color, everyone notices your eyes. That's good, right?
It was a terrible thing, to want something someone else had. It was pointless too, since neither of them could magically grow or change color or sprout wings. Though Callix wished that were the case. He'd change so many things about himself. First being age. Then he'd run away from home, and take some cookies for the road...
But yes, that flying lesson. Oui. One day, I want us to fly together. When we're strong enough. We'll be strong enough someday, right?

Yes, even if I never get my wings! I should... she paused, wondering if she should tell him about her dream. Her...Quest? Isn't that what her momma called it? Eh...I had them in my past life. I saw. Before I grew.
She nuzzled into her friend lightly, And I'm glad you like my eyes. They're like your eyes. Your eyes are pretty.
Coailiann would probably end up running away when she got older. It'd probably be Kishi or Del's fault too, since she didn't like them all that much. They annoyed her, for some reason.

Callix perked. She knew about her past? He didn't know a single thing. Well, not anything concrete. The shadow that stalked him told him he was an evil creature in the past.
How did you get a dream about your past? What did you find out?
Wings would grow eventually, yes, but that suddenly wasn't his primary concern. What was more important now was that he knew if such a thing could be induced. If it could, he wanted to know how.
Maybe then he could figure out why that damned shadow stalked him.

I...I had a weird dream. I called out for you and Yashi. on second though...You first, she assured, smiling ever so slightly. She remembered how he got jealous last time.
I didn't get an answer from either, so I figured if I went back to sleep, it'd be okay again. Then I just couldn't wake up. I was like...There, but not? I was in Her...My...Bébhinn's...Head. That was my name. Bébhinn. It was weird, and wasn't in order. The events jumped around...And I saw things. I didn't see much, but I learned healing. And singing. I can sing now.
She lifted her head to look at him, It was weird...I was...The king liked me. A lot. I was mean to him.

Callix blinked. None of that made sense.
You learned singing and healing from a dream? That's weird. I've never heard of that before. But I've never had a dream like that. I haven't dreamt about my past. I just know what the shadow tells me.
But a king? Royalty liked her? He wondered if that king was still alive. And if he was, where he could be located. He could find and beat him. Nobody could like his friends like that. Especially not his female friends. No one was allowed to. And he didn't know why.
At least she called out to him. That made him feel a bit better about the whole thing.

Coailiann nodded I watched myself do it, and when I came back, I could do it too. It was as simple as that. Or, maybe it wasn't simple at all. Who knew? She gave a small shrug of her shoulders.
I didn't like him. He was not nice. He hit me. she remembered that. She could almost feel the sting of his hand across her delicate face...And she shuddered, I think he may be the reason I died. But I don't know. I wish I knew...
Man. Knowing stuff was hard.

Callix visibily stiffened. He HIT you? The king hit you? Now THAT, that was unforgivable. Nobody could hit his friends. King or not. Is he still around? I could find him and hit him back for you.
And then, he suddenly wondered if what the shadow said was true. If he really was evil. Evil like the people that hit other people weaker than them? Evil like the king that liked Kay too much? It was all so complicated, and he hated not being able to understand.
It hurt his feelings, really. To wonder all these things without having the faculties to unravel the mystery. It was like his past was taunting him.

Yeah...Smacked me. Made a big red mark on my face. But I don't think he's alive anymore... She hoped he wasn't alive any more. If he was...What if she had to meet him again?
That would be torture.
But if he is, you can hit him, okay? She beamed warmly at him and nuzzled at him yet again. So long as she had him as a friend, things would be okay, right?
He made her feel safe, even if he was younger.

I'd hit him very, very, very hard. So hard his face would fall off! Callix beamed. Yep, he was strong enough for that, all right. At least, he thought so. Evil or not, at least he could hit people.
I'm glad he's not alive anymore. He can't do that to people. People who hit other people go to jail. He was told that by his Guardian while reading from the newspaper. Okay, so she was good for a few things, but not enough things to make her really worth it.

I know you would! she agreed before placing a smacking kiss on his cheek, Wanna hear me sing and play?
Her finger stretched out to point at the harp in the center of the room, glittering slightly in the light. It was certainly shiny, and the strings gleamed brand new. It was, indeed, Coailiann's pride and joy.

Callix blushed and smiled visibly from the kiss, placing a tender hand on the spot. He only glanced at the harp, and without thinking, nodded.
Yes, I'd love to hear you sing and play!
He sat back, wondering if she had any other talents he didn't know about. Kay was a mysterious creature. Sometimes more mysterious than any Fa'e he'd ever met. Even though she wasn't Fa'e, she could very well fit in. Past life and all.

Coailiann slid off the couch and made her way to the small stool that was placed behind the harp. With a bit of effort, Coailiann was atop the stool and her fingers were poised above the strings.
She decided on a song in Gaelic. One she remembered from her dream.
Seal da rabhas im' mhaighdean shéimh, 'S anois im' bhaintreach chaite thréith, Mo chéile ag treabhadh na dtonn go tréan De bharr na gcnoc is i n-imigcéin.
'Sé mo laoch, mo Ghile Mear, 'Sé mo Chaesar, Ghile Mear, Suan ná séan ní bhfuaireas féin Ó chuaigh i gcéin mo Ghile Mear.
Ní labhrann cuach go suairc ar nóin Is níl guth gadhair i gcoillte cnó, Ná maidin shamhraidh i gcleanntaibh ceoigh Ó d'imthigh uaim an buachaill beó.
Marcach uasal uaibhreach óg, Gas gan gruaim is suairce snódh, Glac is luaimneach, luath i ngleo Ag teascadh an tslua 's ag tuargain treon.
Seinntear stair ar chlairsigh cheoil 's líontair táinte cárt ar bord Le hinntinn ard gan chaim, gan cheó Chun saoghal is sláinte d' fhagháil dom leómhan.
Ghile mear 'sa seal faoi chumha, 's Eire go léir faoi chlócaibh dubha; Suan ná séan ní bhfuaireas féin Ó luaidh i gcéin mo Ghile Mear.
Her voice was hauntingly sweet, enough to make anyone who heard it feel calm and peace. She had put her father to sleep once.
But despite her beautiful voice, her harp playing wasn't the best. She messed up in many places, but the basic melody was there.
As she finished singing the last note, the child lifted her head and looked at her friend, searching his expression for approval.

Callix was indeed entraced, head tilted slightly to the side, eyes having a slightly glazed effect. His wings relaxed and he looked as if in a daydream. After a few moments, he blinked rapidly, and woke up. His eyes came into focus and he clapped.
"Bravo!"
I liked it! Your language is very pretty. I wish I knew what you were singing about.
