I went on a Friday, it was awesome. Got to spend the night in my friend Carly's room with her odd friends Jaime and Nicholle.
Get to go to next year's con for all three days, FOR FREE.
Heh heh.....I won the contest to redesign ANCEA's logo...
(they sponsor SakuraCon and other Japanese-Northwest events)

dragonspirit12 ive been to sakura con the last 3 years last year my wife and i went for all three days i dont think we will do that again its alot of fun but we did most of everything in one day so if we go for '05 we will just go on sunday one thing i dident like last year was the security was pretty a**l i remember a time when you could go to the con and not get harrassed by the security i know they had more people last year then they ever had befor but still they dident need to be so uptight Brad's right, if you go for just one day, saturday is the day. The market is open and has almost everything in stock as compared to the last day and that's the day that a lot of events are sceduled. I'm sorry about security sweatdrop , it really did suck, but the problem is that no one ever becomes security staff, we just get random volunteers (who know nothing about security), and I tell you that the people who volunteer are crazy uptight b*stards, or power mongers who abuse the power they're given sweatdrop . I was on staff and a security person would not let me pass in a hallway even though I had my staff badge and everything, he wouldn't even tell me what was going on and I was in a hurry. When i saw the stretcher and EMT's I finally figured it out, but if he had just said, "hey we have a situation I have to ask you to wait," or "Stop! we're having an emergency!" he would have been more effecient, instead he was being really annoying and only pissed me off. you should send feed back to Sakuracon via the website and complain about security, but if you really want it changed....I hate this line but it is the truth.... volunteer. I know I said volunteers were the problem, but if we had experienced, or at least intelligent, volunteers on security I think the whole con experience would be a nicer one. I sometimes wonder if I should volunteer security...but I love programming too much. And often times we send one of our own people to be security at our events - and that person is usually more intelligent than the security guys. I need to stop complaining about security. sorry. sweatdrop But yeah, saturday is th best day, if you can make it friday that's great too because you can get to the market and get first go at the merchandise...although staff gets the very first go. xp

Hey, I could volunteer for security if I knew a little more about it. I was a Security Guard/Manager for a year before going to College. ^_^ But I might wait till the year after because I should atleast visit it first as a visitor before I try to go for any postions. 3nodding

GoatSlayrr Aww... whee xp I don't think you could drag me to a con. Well except maybe the venders area, but other than that, I don't think cons would really be my thing. I second that, I wouldn't be caught at one of those things either. Not my cup of tea.

I went to the last Sakura Con and I plan on going to the upcoming one. However I learned the hard way that its much better to go with a few friends, seeing as how I was dropped off on Saturday by myself and had no idea where to go. Hopefully I'll find some people to go with or atleast meet up with this year.

My afternoon and evening might have been awesome, but man did the morning suck. I was to meet a friend of mine at the ferry terminal (who's a member here, called "Transformers Starscream"), but she never showed up thanks to her mom deciding to drive straight there and not wait... >_<
Anyway, when I got there, I felt sick and hadn't had any breakfast. Then the same horrible thing that happened to me last time I went to SC happened - seeing all the nice couples and friends there made me get this overwhelming feeling of painful loneliness that made kick a wall last year. This year, all I did was sit under a payphone near the Emerald Room and kick the wall - not as hard as last time, thank goodness. If it wasn't for running into my friends from Denver who love Yu-Gi-Oh, I'dve gone ballistic.....
