friend: (is blaring rock music) so how are you?
me: (Starts blaring PotO) My mom's out so I'm okay
friend: You blare opera music when you're home alone?
me: it's The Phantom of the Opera. (then I started singing)
friend: okay...

Nice. I blast my poto music all of the time while i'm on the phone. Luckily all of my friends luv poto, and have seen it with me and r mager obsessed. lol biggrin

ok long story short: mom likes it too, but only a little
sister is a retard biotch and beacuse of her Ican't listen to soundtrack loudly when she's home, OR play POTO piano while she's home....
dad doesn't care cuz he's never home
brother doesn't care so long as I don't play the piano ALL day long... (which I did yesterday twisted )
and my friends are cool with it... they all think I'm crazy as hell... but man, they called me psycho sam before POTO became a part of my life, so by calling me crazy, tis no real advancement there lol....
but mah friends support me.. they gave me the POTO music book for piano.. so its all cool n.n heart
I annoy them with my random phantom comments..... I can compare anything to POTO.. heh.... n.n heart

Well here goes nothing! biggrin :
Mom: Is kinda amazed I like it because my strange Stepdad was into it. She likes the movie a lot! We both agree the Phantom is cute! (I got her to sing The Phantom's parts as a joke! Gosh, I luv my mom! biggrin )
Stepdad: Took Off scream
Dad: Thinks I am weird. He says it's depressing and doesn't understand why I like it.
Stepmom: Thinks I am crazy! She said that the story and music was crap eek stressed eek
Older sis: Thinks I am weird. She thinks it's ok (I sing the songs so much I got her to do it!!! mrgreen )
Younger Sis: Is almost as crazy as I am about it! biggrin Luvs it!! (She stole some phanart I did, and my POTO CD and DVD! xd )
Bro: Thinks I am weird but doesn't really care to much. He likes to make fun of the songs. (He dubbed his puppy "The Phantom of the Crate" and made a half mask for him! xd
Friends: Some like it kinda. Some hate it and said it is gay! eek Then some don't even know what it is! As you can see I infected some people with the POTO!! biggrin

My family is irritated by my obsession. My mom used to be a b***h about it. I didn't tell her that I knew anything about PotO until in the spring, then later on, she was going to charge me a quarter for every time I said "Erik". I got so pissed at her then, and it kind of weakened my phan-ness for a while (it, and a couple other things were the reasons I stopped posting here for several months). Finally she just conceeded to my obsession and rented the ALW movie, which sort of brought me back. She's still irritated by my obsession though. I don't think she likes PotO much. More like, she likes silent films and so liked the Lon Chaney version.
My friends don't really care. I made my best friend get a copy of the book, since she thought she might find it interesting, and another friend of mine saw the movie and likes making fun of GB with me and s**t, but for the most part, I have my obsessions, they have theirs. Although I know this girl who has a friend who's a phan, and owns all the movies. I want to meet her.

I made my mom share in my obsession. This May she and I are going to see the show for the third time. I'm so excited! The first time we went it was an 8 hour drive. We loved it so much we went and bought tickets for the very next day. My dad just tends to roll his eyes a lot. My brother liked the movie, but he would never say that.

My mother says I could always be obsessed with worse things....and my friends at school have never been obsessed....with anything, which annoys me becuase I'm a very passionate person and I get addicted to things easily and when I do, it's head over heels, completely consumed with w/e and they just look at me like..."freak" gonk They probably only put up with me becuase I make jokes and can draw sweatdrop I only wonder what it must be like to live a phantom-less existance. *shudders* Then I don't mind being so weird.

I get a lot of strange looks when people ask what I'm listening to and I say 'Phantom of the Opera, Original Cast Recording, Disk One.' I haven't foung anyone in my school that shares my obsecion with Phantom. ='(
My friends all think I'm an idiot for liking 'opera' since I also like Slipknot, Guns N' Roses, and pretty much anything that rocks. I'm trying to think of a funny story, but I'm coming up with nothing. Sorry.

My mother thought/hoped I'd grow out of it when I first because obsessed but I think she gave up on that about five years ago. It just became an accepted part of life at our house... Phantom music could start blasting at any second, maniacal cackling from the computer room was common, and for Christmas or birthdays something Phantomy was always the right way to go.
I generally try to make friends with other phans, (That or convert the prexisting friends. My record thus far is six successful conversions.) but in places like school I got a bit of a reputation for weirdness. Possibly, that reputation stemmed from the time I suddenly started chasing a girl in Drama class across the stage, yelling, "Damn you! You little prying pandora!" xp

my parents have seen the musical... I saw the 2004 movie at school got obsessed. Showed it to sister nd brother, they got obsessed. My friends, are frightened of me.
One of my guy friends (lives in VA when I am stuck in RI): Hey, there was a girl singing a phantom song at school today and she sounded just like her (meaning Christine)
Me: REALLY? What song?
friend: The one when only Christine sings alone...
Me: Think of Me? *thinking* It could also be Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again
Friend: Yeah.. I think.

Currently, I guess my favorite band would be Korn, but I do find Nirvana quite addictive as well (even though it's not metal, just felt I should add that). My favorite Phantom song wuld have to be...I like the title song, and also PoNR pretty well. I'm not a die-hard MotN fan the way a lot of people are.
