writerserenyty I hate the 'they see each other across a crowd, eyes meet, and fall in love' type of cliche. Basically just see each other, and WHAMO! fall in love. NO! it doesn't work that way. I like the "Boy and girl see eachother across and crowded room and their eyes meet. Boy falls madly in lust with girl and starts chasing after her, but girl hates his guts." That's always amusing.

So long as something romantic happens in a book (or film although books are better) my heart melts, whether it be a love triangle or love at first sight! I am just a sucker for love.

I think the Pride and Preduice romance was good, it just happened without either really knowing
The forbidden love is really old and used up
Secrete admirers are always nice and the mystery gives romance a little edge.

But then again, I'm a sucker for any sort of love, and I love the cliched ones the best!
Especially Cinderella stories - there's no way I could hate one of those!

I'm in love with the Pan Around Kiss in a Crowded Public Place. That makes me go YAY on the inside.
Also, the whole opposites attract dealie. Or even the whole Sexually Tense argument that ends with a kiss.
I've never really liked Love at First Sight, though. I prefer the huge buildup, they love eachother but won't admit it deal. heart

I hate the "love at first sight (okay, maybe this is more of an idea than a cliche but, I do)." Love, to me anyway, involves the complete understanding of someone's soul. You can't get that at first sight.
Another one I hate is "falling head over heels." Come on, it doesn't even make sense! Your head is already over your heels, shouldn't it be "heels over head"?
What I do love, however, is the expression "wearing one's heart on one's sleeve." During the Victorian period, on Valentine's day, people would pin a heart that had the name of their sweetheart on it to their sleeve, which is where the expression came from. I wore my heart on my sleeve this Valentine's day. Okay, I don't actually have a sweetheart. What it said was "Amante, mi dimando dove siete" (lover, I wonder where you are). Sweetheart or no, this is one thing I wasn't about to miss out on.

I love "love to hate." To me, they never get old. But I've never ever liked love at first sight and forbidden love.
I absolutely adore love triangles though.

I am the world's BIGGEST sucker for men in distress. Personal favorites where the guy is in pain and trouble when he is saved and nursed back to health be the girl, or guy, of his dreams and then he pays them back eventually.
I HATE when they kill off one of the true loves (ie Dreaming the Eagle evil ) even if they do bring in a new love (ie scream STILL Dreaming the Eagle! gonk I'll love you forever Iccius!!!).

I love when like the guy has a girlfriend, and then meets her friend, and they become friends, then they fall totaly in love. But he doesn't realy want to admit it cuz he doesn't want to hurt his girlfriend, and the girl just flirts, kinda oblivious to the fact that he is completely in love. ^^
I also like the whole forbidden love...Its just so romantic ^^
And I hate when it is just plain, cute, simple, love. Or love at first sight...Its just not real...

Eh, the Love/Hate really gets me. I LOVE it xd (Like the arranged marriages where they hate each other and stuff . . . It's so cliche, but I love it anyway!)
Also, the Forbidden Love is a major favorite of mine.
Also, the 'tall dark and handsome' is so cliche, but everytime I read about a guy like that, I can't stop the fangirl squeals, ya know?
I'm not much of a fan about the friendship-to-love deal, unless it's by Meg Cabot. She can pull it off 3nodding
Oh yeah! Love tringles also get to me sweatdrop
And young love is also majorly cute 3nodding
