:Children:

Like all Nekos the children are born from the portals, though with the very bare basics of skills that would allow them not to depend on you for every little thing. Still they depend on you to teach them, and they are very impressionable at this point. Most come out with the ability of only being able to say a few words, but they are (thankfully) very fast learners.

:Adults:

Finally, adulthood, your child is no longer a little thing, but a full grown adult, and likely taller than you. It's hard to believe the chubby cute little kitten you took in ends up looking so grown up. The girls look like gentle women, while the men look quite independent.

They should by this point (though it doesn't mean that they will) know their place in the world right now. Though they could still be learning, after all when one grows that fast they're always learning. Whether or not they want to leave home or stay, or go off doing something else depends on how you've raised them in the past, but now at least they're doing well.
