I like my red jasper, it's pretty. It's one of my favorites. You guys have already seen most of my gemstones but I'll take a picture of all of the ones I have together and post it here for you guys to see.

Edit: Here's the picture...

User Image

Fist row:
The first and second one are both Banded Agate.
The third one is Tiger's Eye.
The fourth one is Carnelian.

Second row:
The first one is Red Jasper.
Second and fourth are Amethyst.
Third is Crystal Quartz.
Fifth is Obsidian.

Third row:
I'm not sure about any of these.

Fifth row:
The first one is a Citrine cluster.
The second one is a Geode.

I've been told the names of some of the other ones, but I can't remember them at the moment...

eek Puu~uuurdy! ^_^

(yay, first crystal poster! *victory dance*)

The third row, 1st one I am suspecting to be some deviation of Red Tiger's eye: the stripes are familiar. The one next to that would be.. Adventure maybe. It's a little too light: but that could just be the light. The one next to it.. Tricky. Moonstone? Although that may be the one next to that..

Anywho, the blue on the last row would probably be Lapis Lazuli. The one next to that: (pink, on the left) I have: begins with R I think.. Can't remember. sweatdrop Oh well, when we do find out it'll be easy gold for people to identify mine! ^_^

The first one in the third row, you gave me a name suggestion in the other thread I posted it in, but I forgot the name and I'm too lazy to go back and look... I shall do that in a minute.

I'm still not sure about the green one. Like I said in the other thread, I thought it might be Adventurine too, but you're right, it does seem to be a little too light to be that one. I'm not sure about the two blue ones next to it.

I remember you telling me that one blue one was Lapis Lazuli... I just forgot.

I was pretty sure that the pink on was Rhondonite (I'm guessing that's the one you were thinking of).

Edit: You said you thought it was Tiger Iron (the first one in the third row).

I identified some more of my gemstones. I found some pictures to compare them to and some of them I need someone else's opinion.

Here's the pictures:

User Image This is a Lithium Quartz. It looks like the first purple one in the second row, because part of it's a dark purple and part of it's a lighter shade of purple. It's still possible that it could be Amethyst I suppose.

User Image This is Leopard Skin Jasper. That would be the last three on the right under the light blue/white one that's on the third row.

User Image This is African Jade. They look a lot like the green one on the third row.

User Image This is Rainbow Jasper. I'm thinking that the two orangeish spotted ones on the fourth row are these.

User Image These are blue quartz. The third one in the third row looks kinda like the one in the bottom of the picture.

User Image This one is Angelite. The color and description matches the last one in the third row (Pale blue and white). I'm not sure if it's the same stone though.

Opinions would be appreciated!

Edit: The pale blue and white one that I thought might be Angelite... I just found a picture that looks EXACTLY like it. It's Blue Lace Agate... which is what I thought it was in the first place... Here's the pic:

Another edit: Found yet another picture that resembled one of my stones... Second one, last row. It's a moonstone, here's the pic:

Actually, that's perfect. ^_^ I'll check them out when I get a chance: I'm at work at the moment.. ninja Meant to be working, but that's hard. Dad's got my work clothes & laptop. It doesn't sound it, but changing your clothes *really* helps your concentration levels. I hate my uniform with a passion. So iitchhyy... scream So I'm annoyed at him. Well, not at him but at the job he's been on. x_x

Getting off topic.. confused

It doesn't really look like adventurine in my opinion. Maybe you could show us a pic of yours to compare?

I shall get some books on rocks and minerals and crystals next time I go to the library. This is awesome!
I've collected rocks and things since pre-school and I still do! yay for collectors!

Wow...I see myself returning to this thread a lot.

I'm absolutely in love with azurite crystals. I have a very beautiful sample of it that can always be found in one of three places. In my pocket, next to my bed or under my pillow. Well four if you count the times it has some how fallen off my night stand and resulted with my waking up in the morning with it digging into my spine. (I suspect one of the cats knocking it off)

Anyways, according my guide (Scott Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem & Metal Magic) describes it's powers being good for: Psychism, dreams, divination and healing. Of course I confess to entirely understanding what you mean by Chakras and such.

Woo, Rion's feeling simple.

Personally I think its crystals are just simply breath taking in color.

Interestingly it is very comon for azurite to form along side of malacite. Often times, lumps of the two fused together are rounded and smoothed into spheres and used that way for jewlery, as they tend to look like miniture globes or little Earths. You can usually find beads of this on eBay but they're usuall very pricey. That might help you find some nice pictures though to give an idea of that awesome blue color azutire has.

This is very helpful ^-^ My brother and I used to collect crystals; glad I don't have to spend a ton of money buying some xd

Anywyas, I was just wondering--could you use crystal jewlery? i.e., a garnet and silver necklace. Or would the other elements do something bad, or make it less pure? question
