I voted for Itachi.. he's been my favorite character ever since he was introduced, and not ecause I'm some rabid fangirl... I actually would have voted for Deidara too, if we got more than one choice, since Dei is my 2nd fav character, and I think may slowly be shoving Itachi out of 1st place in my head... But as of now Itachi still takes 1st, though I'm sure that's gonna change.
Anyway, since this is the place to discuss the Akatsuki...
Okay, I'm kinda glad to see Akatsuki again, but I am also soooooooo ticked!!! Where's this 'supposed' girl member?! I thought the next member Kishimoto was gonna reveal was gonna be the girl!! So... does this mean he's a sexist, lying b*****d and there is no girl?! Ugh.... I need female representation!! I know I shouldn't get worked up over a manga, but when you're a psychotic feminist like me, any time you see girls not being equally represented, it gets to ya... if there is no girl member, he's putting forth a point that girls are useless, and weak, and couldn't make the cut to be in Akatsuki. Now, I know that Naruto was originally geared towards boys, and most boys and men are sexist in more ways than one, but still....
Okay, I'm sorry, I'm rambling. But I'm really really angry. When I saw posts this morning about the new Akatsuki, I went and downloaded it, and was even late for school, because I was so excited that I'd finally see the girl member introduced, I didn't even care about anything else.
If I wasn't a crazy feminist, or if there were already plenty of girl Akatsuki members, I suppose that I would've loved this chapter. It really was quite interesting, and now we'll hopefully be seeing even more of the Akatsuki, plus Naruto's awesome training is coming up, and he's going to learn 'his own' jutsu, which will be really cool.
But where the hell is the girl member?! Why would he save her till last?! I'll bet there isn't even a girl, cause it wouldn't make sense to save her till the last unrevealed member... *sob* I want my female representation!!

Maybe there really is a female member, and Kishimoto saved her for last because.. she's the strongest? Okay, it's a long-shot, but it IS a possibility.
I would love if the female member was one of the strongest. And at least we know her attack speed isn't the slowest, since that's apparently Hidan's department.

Yep. xD I think that it's very possible the next member is a girl. I mean, Kishi has always put girls somewhere.
- There a girl in every team.
- Tsunade became hokage.
- There's one girl who has a biju that we know of.
So I won't be surprised if this last member IS female. Of course, if it isn't, then oh well. I would be a teeny bit dissapointed. >w<

Japanese people for the most part(no, I'm not sterotyping, just stating facts, so dont hate me) are rather sexist, and so saving the girl for last, making her seem special, and maybe even stronger/faster/whatever than most of the others doesn't seem like something that a guy writing a manga geared towards young boys, in Japan, would do if he wants to appease his target fans and continue to make sales.
I think he really must've changed his mind... I mean, think about it...

I suppose it's a good possibility... though why didn't she just wait till they were asleep and like castrate them or something, to teach them a lesson to lay the hell off of her, and that she's just as tough as them and means business?... That's what I'd do in that situation-well, maybe not that.... but something to teach them..

I don't think Kishimoto would go back on his word like that. Maybe he changed his mind about making the female character the next one to be introduced, but I'm sure there is at least ONE. It wouldn't seem very.. Naruto-ish if everyone in the Akatsuki was a guy. Like Iia said, there's always been at least one girl in everything.. everything that I can remember, anyway..

I don't know, but that's another thing I'm worried about- if there is a girl, what her appearance will be.
And I'm worried for two reasons- 1. She could be reallly ugly, and that'd be horrible. I mean, if she's like that giant Akatsuki member, and looks like a guy, it's be just plain weird. 2. Even worse, she could look more like Tsunade. Now think about it- Tsunade is more of just a sex symbol or something, put there to make all the male fans go gaga more than anything else. I guess Kishimoto had to guve her some actual worthwhile attributes though, like her medical skills and strength, so people wouldn't get her underlying symbolism and complain.
So, I'm hoping it's neither of those two- that she's pretty, but not... well, like Tsunade. And that she's powerful, and can hold her own, and has an interesting personality and past too. That and that she isn't killed off anytime soon after she's introduced.

I can see her being average looking, with a personality of a tomboy.. of course. Living with eight[nine, Tobi?] other guys, you would think she'd pick up some of their habits..
