Star Ocean 2, Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 1, Legend of Mana, Dragon Quest 8, Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy XI, Maple Story, Ragnarok Online, Valkyrie Profile, Super Mario RPG, every Metroid besides Metroid Prime 2, Grand Theft Auto series, Onimusha 4, Kingdom Heats 1 and 2, Sukoden 4, Arc the Lad 1 2 and 3, Lunar 2, Gran Turismo 3, Devil May Cry 1 and 3, Silent Hill 3, Resident Evil 0, 1, and 4, Killzone, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Brave Musashi, Parasite Eve, Super Smash Brothers Melee, Ikaruga, Final Fantasy Tactics, Golden Sun, Kessen 1 and 2, Diablo 2.

My only concern is if it's too much control abuse

"Control abuse" is cool with fighters n all, but with RPG's since you're going from random battle to random battle every 6-10 seconds it can get quite tiresome gonk

The eneimes run on around on the feild in the Tales series so you can see theme and try to move away from theme

Well Solo is quite honestly a severe Fanwank...... he started bashing JApanese RPGs around the time people were saying that the Xbox had no variety of RPGs and lacked support from japan

he has only spiraled downward from there if you ask me

whene he frist joined I got into quite A few converations whith him hell I even helped him out whith his profile A tad..But latley he become very biased and quite annoying

yeah he has..... and his bias is unbeleivabley obvious... I mean if you actually look at the real tiem combat for KotOR and compare it to the real time Combat for say Tales of Symphonia....... the mechanics behind them is not that different

boht occur in real time.... both will pause combat while you access menus to allow for stratagizing.... both allow you to issue commands to other party members

the irony is that ToS actually lets you quick map multiple skills for combat that is more streamlined in real time

Ive tried sunning that through him A few time since this isnt the frist time we have butted head.. He always seems to follow up whith this statesment and I qoute his words
''All J-RPGs are like 40 hour DVD Menus and have only one ending''
Since whene was mutiple endings something that made A game most games have stories and follow the direct story so having A mutilple ending is pointless.

I can rattle off half a dozen Japanese RPGs with more endings than KotOR (which only has two in the first one, and a varient of a single ending in the second game)

and if he thinks a real time action RPG plays like a DVD menu...... then I question his grasp of logic

No such mislabeling. They are officially RPGs. If you come up with your own personal definition that fine, but it doesn't effect the actual genre classifications.

you are mistaken...... by definition in Video Game terms they are RPGs

and your flawed logic can just as easily be applied to games like KotOR and Fable..... or even Baldur's Gate and the like..... since you actually do not have a definitive choice in terms of the story since for any console based game the story has to be predetermined in order for them to program a game
