The question put Larxene on guard, making her tense slightly in the chair. She didn't like being questioned. Answering questions might lead to something horrible. Like, people knowing things about her. Even so, this strange boy seemed harmless enough. Almost annoyingly cheerful, but harmless.
"I like the library. It's quiet. Well, usually quiet, anyway. And I like to read." She looked down at the book on her knee. "Stories are generally more interesting than things going on here."
She didn't bother to add that the things in books didn't require her to remember who she was or where she'd come from either. He didn't need to know that. Her thoughts were betrayed slightly as her expression grew more contemplative, and she fiddled with the pages of the book. "Do you like stories, then? What with going into books and all..."

Sora seemed to stare for a minute, focusing on her words, listening carefully. Despite not being smart, Sora could listen to someone talk for hours if he wanted to. Maybe he wasn't just a dumb kid after all?
Sora stood up on his chair and struck a pose while his keyblades appeared in his hands. "I am a story! A living story waiting to be told by millions of people!"
...or maybe he was just a dumb kid. But either way, this was no lie. Sora had been put through many troubles and come out living, which is indeed worthy of a story all on it's own.
He fell back in his seat, keyblades dissapearing. "I do love stories though...what were you reading anyways?"

Larxene gasped a little as the keyblades appeared, briefly thinking back on her encounter with Riku in the hallway. Does everyone around here have those now?
"Interesting. I'm not sure I've ever met a living story before. Though I haven't had the privilege of going into a book either." She glanced down at the book in her hand again. "It's probably not appropriate for you, actually." Regardless of this, she tossed the book across to Sora. The cover said 'The Marquis de Sade', in scrolly text. The inside was, as she'd said, more than a little risque. She smirked a little. "If I could get into a book, however, that'd be my first choice."

Sora stared at the book cover. Should he open it? Probably not, she said it wouldn't be appropriate for him. Though that is really what made him want to look. But he decided against it. He laughed, "By the looks of it I probably couldn't understand a word in this book."
"So...what is it that makes this book your choice if you could go in it, mistress?" He said as he tossed it back to Larxene. As this conversation went on Sora became more and more interested in his new found friend. Atleast he hoped she was his friend at this point.

Larxene caught the book again, frowning slightly. "Mmkay, you have to stop calling me that now." Not having expected him to do it in the first place, and seeing how seemingly innocent he was, the title she'd jokingly requested was starting to disturb her.
"You should try reading it sometime. The only way to learn is to expand your range of experiences, don't you agree?" She smiled down at the little book. Judging by the wear on the edges, she's read it a number of times already (or, at least, someone in the place had). "What do I like about it? Hmmm. That might be a bit hard to explain." She smirked again, "I'd offer to show you, but if the text isn't appropriate, the action definitely wouldn't be."
The girl chuckled over her own little joke, then relaxed, hanging her legs over the arm of the chair again. "I suppose I like it because it's exciting. And I can related to the main character. He's terribly inquisitive, and so am I. Well, over certain matters, anyway." She eyed Sora curiously, though her expression still held a tinge of something akin to mocking in it. "Are you your own favorite story?"

Sora blinked. He felt older after all of his advantures in the past, but still felt young in a way, like he was missing something. He was told after the last incident that a year had gone by and then he had arrived in this new world. Supposing that this place is where he'd find his answers.
With the frown now greeting his chat companions face, Sora frowned. Must have been something he said. "Okay I guess." His words seemed more cautious now.
"I guess I could read it sometime. I should read more really. I might get the answers I'm looking for in a book. But..." He looked around at his surroundings. "There are a lot of them, what are the chances I come across the right one? What if what I am looking for, I'm not ready to hear yet?" He hung his head, doubt never really was his thing, but when he had it, he had it bad.
At Larxene's last words his ears perked. Now he was back to being confused again. "Action?" Definatly not something someone smart would ask.
Watching Larxene laugh again, Sora seemed to ease up, the tension in the room went away. "Actually...I really don't remember having a favorite story." He scratched his head, he really couldn't remember too many of the books he had read right now. "I guess I like..." the pause was there to see if something, anything, came to mind. At last, the he shouted as if he had found gold "Shakespeare! I like his books, sorta! Though some of the words are bit fancy and I don't quite get them." He laughed loudly at his own stupidity and smiled brightly.

"Hmm." Larxene eyed Sora a long moment, starting to get the impression he was as clueless about his background as she was. That was oddly ... comforting. She frowned a little as she saw him questioning his own capability to deal with the truth. That hit rather close to home.
"Perhaps by the time you find the answer, assuming it's in one of these," she said, waving a hand around to indicate the books, "you will be ready for it. If not, there are a lot of interesting things to read in the meantime." She giggled again, mischeivously, waggling the book in her hand. "Like this one."
Her ears tilted back slightly when she realized she was coming perilously close to being friendly. There was just something about the boy that was disarming that way. Stupid innocence. Nevertheless, she found herself returning the other's bright smile a little.
"I think we should just leave the action alone for now," she said, smirking slightly. "Though if you'd like to read the book, you let me know." She glanced around the room again. "I think there are some Shakespeare books around here, somewhere. I prefer his sonnets to the rest of his work though. Some of them are delightfully bleak."

Sora ignored the Larxene's responce to his dilema for a while, thinking happy thoughts first. "Okay, whenever I want to read that book, I'll just ask you. Sound ok?" He smiled, still having no clue what could be in that book at all. "Around here somewhere, Larxene?" Sora looked around. "There's a lot of somewhere in this place." Laughing at his own comment slightly, though it was very true. There was a lot of books here, a lot of somewhere.
Sora's tone got serious again. "What's wrong Larxene?" He waited. "You kinda seem like your lost too. Probably more than I am. Though, I -am- pretty lost sometimes!" He tried to smile whole-heartedly as he said this but, it just came out awkward.

Larxene smiled in spite of herself. "There is a lot of somewhere, I'll give you that. That's part of the reason I've been spending so much time in here. The books don't give me any trouble, and nothing jumps out from behind them. Well, not usually anyway," she said, smirking at him slightly.
Her ears tilted back again at his question. She looked down a moment, gnawing on her lower lip. Admitting he was right ... it felt like she'd be leaving herself very open, somehow. Still, he did seem harmless. And it was nice to have someone to talk to for a change. "I can't remember exactly how I got here, or where I was before that. Or why. Or .. anything, really." She frowned, picking at the corner of the book lightly.

Sora hung his head as Larxene's smirk went away. Maybe he shouldn't have said anything. Too late now, she was already upset. "Um...Larxene? I'm sorry for bringing it up. I should have noticed you didn't want to talk about it. But, I really don't know the full reason I am here either. It's just best to be optimistic about it all I guess, that's how I treat everything. It's just how I am." Sora thought for a minute, raising his head proudly. "Like...like, if we weren't here right now, we wouldn't have met eachother. That's a good thing right?" He smiled, he really was enjoying his time here. This was the first time he got to -really- talk to someone at length since he showed up here.
He hung his head low again. "Or not, I guess, I have definatly met some people who wish they had never met me. That was really...upsetting."

Larxene was quiet a moment, then huffed a sigh. "Don't apologize. It was an honest question, I suppose." Truth be told, had he not admitted he, too, was in the dark as to why he was there, she would have been much more annoyed. As it was, she found herself being more lenient because she didn't want to be left alone again. At least not yet.
"If you weren't here asking questions, I'd just be re-reading my book. As much as I like my book, talking to someone else is nice too. Well, sometimes." She tilted her head a little at his last statement. "People who wish they'd never met you?" This tweaked her curiosity slightly. "People like who?"

Sora smiled a bit more scratching his head nerviously as Larxene talked. Then she struck a soft spot. Who wished they didn't meet him? This could take a while.
"Well, a lot of bad people. But that still doesn't make it less hurtful. I guess just cause someone sees another person as being bad, doesn't really make them bad. It's all from perspective. Like this guy, Ansem, who really wasn't Ansem...long story to that one...tried to take over this thing called Kingdom Hearts! He brainwashed my friend, kidnapped these princesses and another one of my friends, and hurt lots of people. But, I think his reason was just to become like a normal human. I met a lot of people like that in my adventures." Sora sighed, he didn't like fighting, but he did like doing the right thing.
His ears perked up and smile returned as quickly as it went away. "But that's all so depressing! There's still a lot of good things that happened. I made a lot of friends, got to see a lot of places, and the ice cream wasn't half bad either!" Laughing loudly again, his optimistic attitude returned ten fold.

Larxene quirked her head to one side slightly. Keeping up with this guy's moods was like watching a bouncing ball. Some of the things he said, and people he mentioned, stirred something in her memory, but it was only like a vague tingling.
"Fighting doesn't have to be depressing. Not as long as you win, and particularly when it's against people who are against you." She sniffed and tilted her head. "I'm not interested in letting people push me around, whether I remember who I am and who they are or not."
She eyed him curiously as he started to grin again. "Getting to see a lot of places sounds interesting. It seems to me I wanted to do that, once. It seems like a long time ago." Her forehead furrowed slightly, but the little wisps of memory slipped away as she mentally grasped at them. After a moment, Larxene shook her head, 'antennae' bobbing about her ears. "Did you come here all by yourself, Sora? What happened to these friends you made?"

Sora squirmed in his chair a bit. "But the people who I fought didn't really seem all that evil, just desperate for what they wanted. Desperation makes people do craaaaaazy things! I know, it's happened to me before too!" He smiled at this, in sort of a I made it through it, kind of way.
Sora was paying full attention to Larxene until her 'antennae' like hairs caught his eye and his mind went into overdrive. What the heck are those? Is it hair? Is it some sort of transmitty thingy? I wonder if I could poke them...
As Larxene spoke again Sora's mind snapped back to reality. "Come here by myself?" He was repeating just to make sure he heard right...he hadn't really been paying attention at that moment. "Um...I did. My friends had to go back where they belong. And I guess it wasn't my time to go home. Not that I mind really! Going to new places is great!"

"I'd be interested to hear about what you'd do out of desperation," Larxene said, smirking again. It took a moment for her to notice that he seemed to be staring at her ... ears? She arched an eyebrow slightly, eyeing him as he tried to answer her question.
She frowned slightly. "So is being here supposed to be part of your adventure, then, or some kind of punishment?" Larxene wouldn't have admitted it, but she was asking more to answer questions for herself than for any burning interest in his situation.
