"What? Make it part of the protocol that "yon white female shalt daily drag the king around by an ear wether he likes it or not."?" she laughed "Gladly" As she was walking, she almost stumbled at his nudge but caught herself with a smirk "Ah you have to do better than that to beat me." She swatted him playfully with her tail before once again walking alongside him.
"Oh I hope I'll be alright, I didn't have the best experiences with the pride I was in." And that was an understatement "But you know, I didn't have a choice eventually wether or not to join a pride after a while, wandering alone gets so tiring and it's my dream to have one more litter before I'm old, something that wouldn't happen out there on the wilds." she laughed "So a pride it is. I'll adapt to it, it actually looks more fun that I would have thought."
She playfully leant over to tug on one of his ears. "Yep, they look sturdy enough, good for dragging."
And at his last gentle comment she could only smile gratefully. "Well I hope I can be that kind of flower then, the one that survives the harsh winter to bloom once more in spring."

"Hey, yeah, that sounds pretty good!" he laughed along with her, smiling and enjoying himself for the first time in a long while. Longer than he could remember. So when she swatted him playfully he couldn't help but growl softly and nudge her again, though this time he wasn't trying to knock her over or anything.
He then listened to her talk about how she was tired of wandering around all the time and how she wanted another litter. He thought it was a little weird that she came looking around this place, though. Maybe it was only because she knew his father, and she was looking for some familiar faces.
"Aah, so you've come all the way out here looking for love, eh?" he chuckled, not even minding the subject. She'd probably find someone easily, with her looks and personality. The brown male was sure of it.
"You'll do fine here, I'm sure. Like I said before, the lions around here are nice, understanding. Besides, if you have any trouble you can just get me to sit on them." He grinned again then stumbled slightly when she tugged on his ear. "Ow, hey!" he laughed, bumping her with his big, fluffy head. "So does that mean you'll be dragging me around a lot?"
Flicking his tail, he glanced to the side and towards her. "You look like one," he commented softly, looking foward again as he walked slowly. "You are definitely beautiful. And if you've survived out there in the wilds all by yourself, you've got to be strong."

She continued trotting along contentedly by his side as they talked, more glad of the company than she had been of anything in a very very long time. She was sociable at heart, just forced to be a loner by circumstances outside her control. A pride would bring the security and sociability she needed and out of sheer fear of rejection by an unknown pride she had made her way here.
She winked "Not just love, friends, good strong ties that will last. Hunting partners, all that sort of thing. I just don't want to be alone anymore." she chuckled "That sounds really clingy. It's not, I swear, I just want a place to call home, my feet are tired." She didn't really count her chances of finding a male highly, she was a little too independent she felt, and grey wasn't neccisarily a desirable colour in cubs, not when it came to hunting anyway. "But yes, even if I don't get my cubs, which is pretty likely, I'll have lion to lean on when I'm weary."
"Oh and no worries about you getting dragged into it, anyone says anything to me and it will be sitting punishment or bust!" she purr-growled playfully as he headbutted her "It means that you better get used to having a disgruntled lioness bothering you all the time."
"Yeah, I survived but most times it was only just, skin of the teeth stuff, sheer luck. It might have made me stronger in body but it's tired me out in mind. As for beauty, I'm not beautiful, I'm just impractical, all bright and colourless, I'm lucky if I can even get away with hunting at night."

Uknowing of her former circumstances and lifestyle, Tamu wondered why she was alone. Despite what she said about herself, she seemed quite capable and was very beautiful. Were males really so picky nowadays as to even overlook her? He didn't understand it.
He did, however, understand what she was talking about when she said that all she was looking for was a place to call home. He had always had a home, but he could still imagine how she felt. Sometimes he felt lonely and all he would want was a friend. He figured that it was the same with this lioness. "I see what you're saying about wanting a home," he said smoothly, continuing his slow pace as they talked. "But I don't get why you don't think you won't get your cubs." He stopped for a moment to turn his head and look at her.
"You deserve them, and I'm sure you'll get them." And with that he continued onwards, looking forward as he walked.
Smiling at her, he bumped her playfully again. "I think I could get used to having you around. It's not like I don't enjoy your company." He winked at her for a moment, but then his playful mood melted away when she talked about how she stood out and everything.
"Impractical or no, I sitll think it's beautiful. Besides, being brown and all that is overrated. And you won't have to worry about hunting so much anyways, now that you're here. You can always drag me around to do your hunting for you, eh?" he chuckled, a smile coming back onto his face.

Masuka grinned wryly "I think it's just having whiled away so much of my life out on my own that's made me afraid that by the time I do find happiness it'd be too late for cubs. I mean it's one thing to tell yourself there's plenty of time left and quite another to see that all your old friends are settled and have cubs who are older now." she flicked her hair out of her blue eyes "I'm such a panic merchant." she gave her tail a flick and gave him a deeply grateful smile, wether or not he caught it "Thank you." Kind words were something she had learned to dearly miss when all the lions she met were starving rogues like herself and remained rivals rather than friends.
At his playful bump she laughed again and let out a playful growl purr "Like I say, you don't get a choice, I'm now official Tamu-baggage wether you like it or not." she poked him playfully with a paw, clearly just in jest.
At his offer to help her hunt she felt a lot of her anxiety melt away, her inability to hunt efficiently had been a hindrance nd one she worried would limit her in the pride. "Oh I wouldn't make you do /all/ the work." she smirked "My name doesn't mean ghost for nothing, you learn a lot about stealth when you have fur like mine."
She grinned mischeviously "Doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate the company though."

Tamu listened carefully to the female's words. From what he got out of it, Masuka felt that even if she did find happiness, it'd be too late for her to have cubs. She wasn't so old, was she? If she was, she definitely didn't look it. Perhaps it was her independence and the way in which she wasn't feeble and didn't need others to take care of herself. Whatever it was, though, he admired it.
"You'll get them," he said again, continuing slowly forward. There were enough lions around this place, she could have any one of them he was sure. "There's no way a lion in his right mind would pass you up."
He grinned then tugged on her ear playfully when she talked about being official Tamu-baggage. "Aw, you mean I'm going to have to see more and more of you? Darn. And I thought I'd get to nap all day long once I became king," he laughed, flicking his tail in amusement. He felt so relaxed and comfortable around this female. He was actually laughing for the first time in a long while.
When she poked him in the chest, he blinked then play-growled. Moving closer, he grabbed ahold of her ear and gently tugged. Once he let go, the brown male jumped away, as if afraid of a counterattack.
"Of course," he purred, stepping closer. "But are you so sure you won't get tired of a big oaf like me? I mean, my mane is pretty fluffy and can get in the way a lot of the time...." He grinned then leaned in and waved his mane in her face for emphasis.
Stepping back again, he glanced around, noticing a watering hole nearby. If he remembered correctly, this was the west watering hole.
"Oh, thirsty?" he asked, walking towards the water.

The ghostly female followed in Tamu's pawprint, listening intently as he spoke, with most lions she'd come across any kind of sympathy and reassurance was vetoed in favour of trying to kill her. Rogues rarely wasted time on trivialities. As such Tamu's words had a rather profound impact on her, making her feel better than she had in so very long. At his statement that no lion would pass her up she laughed "I bet there are a good few that would." she eyed him pointedly for an instant before playfully batting at him for tugging on her ear. "Yep, no naps for you just round the clock Masuka forcing you to go out on brisk refreshing walks, hunts to build good strong muscles and hobnobbing with the locals to build good social skills. What does sleeping teach? How to snore super loud." she was about to go on a bit more in her playful lecture when Tamu tugged on her ear.
Feigning outrage, she bounded after him and catching his tail gave it a gentle yank. "Touche!" she laughed, feeling brighter than she had since before she could remember. As he spoke about his mane she leaned her head in alongside his neck and took a deep breath of his mane before smirking and stating "Nope, your mane is lovely and clean, notta problem to me. And you are no oaf, oafs are annoying, you are quite the contrary."
Following over to the waterhole she eyed the liquid hungrily, she really was thirsty, after all she had walked a very long way to the lands and hadn't been able to stop to refuel much. "Very." was her affirmative as she padded down to the water's edge, leaning down to drink. She licked her lips when she'd had her fill and looked back up from the water. "Good clean water, thought I'd only be tasting wasteland mudpuddles for the rest of my days."

"Then those that would are simply crazy," he countered to her saying that she thought that there were a good number of lions out there that would pass her up. He wasn't just saying all of this for the chance to hear his own voice. He really did like this female and thought that she was a prize in herself. Any male that couldn't see that was either blind, stupid, or both. "I know I wouldn't pass you up," he said quietly, as if he didn't want her to hear that.
Grinning, he listened to Masuka as she went on to say that he wouldn't just be taking naps now that she was around, how she was going to get him up and out and meeting new lions. Pretending to be offended, he made a face. "But I like sleeping all day and snoring super loud!" he said, attempting to keep a straight face.
When she pulled on his tail, however, he couldn't help but laugh and whirl around to face her. "Heeey, that's my tail you know," he laughed, trying to grab her ear again so that he could tug on it.
"Aw, well thank you miss," he said happily, shaking his head so that his mane flopped about a little more. "It is rather fluffy and nice, isn't it?" he asked, going all cross-eyed in an attempt to get a glimpse of the fur that crowded around his head.
Smiling, the heir followed the lioness over to the watering hole, sitting down as she took a refreshing drink. Once she was finished, Tamu took a little drink before glancing back up at her. "Nope, no more mudpuddles for you. Future king's orders, the pretty lady's get nothing but the best around here." He grinned then sank down to his belly, his gaze drifting over to the water and his reflection. He was to be a king soon...

Masuka smiled more broadly as she caught Tamu's tagged-on comment, flicking her tail. "I guess you must be right then, if a lion as kind and warm as you wouldn't pass me by then I must be at least worth something." she winked.
At his comment about snoring super loud she laughed merrily " Ah you think /you/ snore? I've been told by reliable sources that I'm not exactly a quiet sleeper." She let him grab on her ear but used that opportunity to catch his tail again and nibble on it. "Bah, tails are meant to be shared. And yes, your mane is lovely, needs more grooming though, if you did it enough it would gleam beautifully."
She sat down alongside him with a smirk "Well that's one order I think I'd be inclined to follow actually, despite not actually being one of these "pretty ladies" you speak of."
As he fell silent for a moment, Masuka inspected her own reflection in the water, raising a paw to rub the scar across her eye with a frown, it had never faded even after all this time.

"You bet!" he laughed, glancing into the water for a moment before continuing. "I'm sure if others hear that a to-be king has eyes for you then all the others will get jealous and follow suit." He purred then flicked his tail before rolling onto his side slowly and lazily. He was a little chubby, now that he thought about it. He needed to get around more.
"Well, no one's ever told me--Heeeey!" he growled playfully, pawing at her face as she grabbed his tail again. Joking around, he frowned and whimpered, "But my tail is special. I like it too much to share."
When she went on to talk about his mane, he went cross-eyed again trying to look at it. "It's dirty?" he asked, pretending to be serious about it. He wasn't a dirty lion, but he didn't exactly spend all of his time grooming himself either. "But I suppose it's expected. Do you know how hard it is to groom that thing?" he laughed, squirming about as if to prove his point.
He stopped, however, when Masuka once again put herself down by saying she wasn't one of the pretty ladies. He wanted to tell her otherwise, but thought that it probably wasn't any good. Instead, he frowned then placed his great head upon his paws, his eyes gazing upon his shabby reflection.

Masuke grinned "You males are all the same. If I had a mane I'd groom it all the time, constantly, though I think my facination with grooming probably comes from being so light, if I was dusty coloured then I probably wouldn't groom half as much. I can definately see where it'd be a hassle to groom though." she laughed "Especially since you have so much of it. My family usually have hardly any mane at all."
Masuka wasn't actually that bothered by being pretty or otherwise, she was generally happy the way she was. "Though in terms of beauty, I could care less either way, if I'm nice enough to catch an eye such as yours then that's plenty for me."
She grinned mischeviously at his intent gaze at the water's surface, and in a casual sidelong flick, splashed him with a paw.

The big fluffy male grinned and merely laughed when Masuka said that all the males were the same about grooming. It was probably true. It was a hassle to groom all that fur that he had, and so he never really bothered with it. "Yeah, it's not always fun trying to get this thing to cooperate with me. I figure it's only going to get messed up again, so most of the time I don't bother."
He pawed in her general direction for a moment before setting his paw down and blinking. "But if you ever get tired of grooming yourself, I'm sure my mane wouldn't mind if you flattened it out once in a while." He grinned then winked, joking but at the same time being a little serious.
When she went on to talk about her catching his eye, he folded his ears back in slight embarassment. "Aw, really, there are better eyes to catch besides mine, you know..."
Tamu was about to say more, but suddenly he had water flying straight at his face. Surprised, he merely blinked for the first few seconds. After he realized what had happened, however, he grinned slyly then suddenly took up a position that looked like he was ready to pounce. Then, without saying anything, he pounced on her and used his body weight to pin her down against the ground. He did take into account the fact that she was smaller, though, and so made sure not to squish her.
"Yer comfy, you know that?" he laughed as he lay across her to keep her down.

Masuka smirked "Oh it'd be a pleasure to help tame that unruly mop of yours, make it behave properly." Of course she was just messing with him, in her opinion his mane was actually more respectable than that of most lions she'd come across, her grin widened mischeviously. "Though you do suit the "just woken up" look rather well, I have to say."
The water fight that ensued took even the ever-wandering Masuka by surprise. As she was bowled off her feet she could only erupt into hysterical laughter, so he wasn't so much of a pushover after all!, there was some fight there, he just needed suitable persuasion. She grinned, totally pinned under his greater weight, caught off guard, something no other lion could really claim to have done before. Normally she'd have been outraged at her record being broken, but this once she was actually happy.
Half-heartedly she tried to wriggle free, only to give up and let out a mock sigh, smirking up at him with a quirked brow. "Am I now?" she replied. "Hmm, well you aren't too bad of a princely blanket yourself, bit bony though but I could live with that." Typical Masuka, she always tried to make every situation seem totally intentional. She put her chin on one of his forepaws. "I could lie here all day." She wasn't about to admit defeat.

Tamu smiled over at the lioness, fully enjoying her company. It was a nice change from the lonely days he had spent wandering around the lands lately, checking out the borders and making sure everything was in order. It was nice to have someone to talk to, and especially someone so lovely.
"Yeah, well, what can I say?" he laughed. "I just have a knack for looking cute all the time." And suddenly he was wondering what on earth had happened. This was not the lion he used to be. Normally he was shy, quiet. But he had noticed that ever since his brother had left things had become different with him. He had been able to relax, find himself and become confident. It felt good, but he hadn't thought that it could ever happen to him. He was just so different now than from when he was a cub..
Grinning as he kept her pinned, he liked that she at least tried to squirm away, even if he knew she was only playing right now. Most females, he thought, wouldn't really want to bother with play-stuff like this.
"Well I guess you'll just have to fatten me up then," he said, his tail flicking as he purred and peered at her with shining eyes. He really did enjoy her company. When she said that she could lie there all day, he smiled then suddenly got up off of her and lay down next to her. "I'm sure you could, but I'm sure you wouldn't want some big oaf like me on ya," he said winking slightly before he rested his head on his paws and just stared ahead.

Masuka had never known the quiet Tamu but wholeheartedly approved of his current warmth and playfulness. Only now was she beginning to comprehend how taxing her time alone had been. She was a social lioness, one who loved to toss banter around and indulge in the most cub-like and frivolous games, her decision to come her had been the best one she'd made in a very long time. Her only regret was that she hadn't come here sooner.
As he leaned off of her, she stayed casually reclining on the ground, sweeping some of the dust on her off with a casual silver paw. Reaching over, she ruffled his mane in play, flicking her tail contentedly "You big bully you." She poked his belly with a toe and a smirk "If I fatten you up any more you'll squash me next time you try that! /If/ there's a next time. Masuka isn't caught off guard that easily you know."
She glanced over at him with less of a smirk but more of a warm and grateful smile, he was a great laugh to be around and already she was dreading when he'd have to say goodbye to her the way everyone seemed to...
No, wait. She was in a pride now, or hopefully would be if the king gave his blessings. She'd see Tamu all the time if she wanted, he wasn't going anywhere, was he? She positively beamed at the thought.
"You don't mind me hounding you around like this, do you?"
