Dulcea's Perspective

We spent much of the day in the building, we being me Teagan and I. He's started moving around a little, fidgeting really. I suppose though that even twitching is impressive coming from a leaf. He seems happy now, especially around his cousin Shouko. Today Teagan's aunt Anon fell into the pond, and Shouko held him while I helped her dry off. She sang him a song, it really seemed to cheer him up, and it certainly calmed her down. She's a sweet little girl, I think they'll be good friends.

I noticed something though, the tone she used when she was speaking too him, it was like an older sister. I don't know, I could be wrong, but something was familiar about it, I just can't put my finger on what.

I do worry that he might develop a bit of a crush on her, but I don't think it would be that big of a deal, after all, they're not blood relatives, right?

Dulcea opened the door slowly, Teagan set on her head, "What.." she said quietly, reaching to open the letter. She read it over to herself, then quirked a brow at the pot. "Well little Teagan, I guess it's time to see what will happen when you're planted" she smiled, picking the pot up off the ground, careful not to let the little leaf fall from her head. He quivered happily, sharing her curiousity as to what it would do.

She had set the pot on top of a rounded plate on the counter and filled it to a few inches below the top with soft topsoil. Teagan was set beside it, eagerly awaiting what was to come. Now she stood in front of the sink, filling a small mug with cool water, "Well I suppose if you need to be planted you need to be watered, right?" she asked, though she didn't expect an answer from him.

She put the mug down to the right of the pot, beginning to dig a little hole in the soil. "What do you think, is this deep enough?" she asked the little leaf after the hole was about two inches deep. Teagan wiggled in response, not sure what she was talking about. She picked him up off the counter and set him down in the hole, smoothing some of the dirt over him.

Dulcea took a step back, looking at Teagan who now wiggled himself into a comfortable position and then fell still, conserving his energy for later. She stepped forward again, pouring about half of the water in the mug over him, the little leaf shivering lightly at the cold. "There now, I think you should rest little one."

Dulcea turned at the sound of the bell, scooping the pot up into her arms, holding him against her shirt even though a few drops of muddy water dripped down the side, leaving a light stain. Oh well, that would come out eventually. She pulled the door open, happy to see a familiar face. "Hi! Look at little Teagan" she said, sounding rather excited as she held the pot up with dirt-covered hands, a childish smile on her face. A tall red haired woman walked into the main room, her look a bit less enthusiastic. "Forgive the twit, she gets so immature whenever one of her little charges changes at all." she called, heading out of view, toward kitchen.

Dulcea pouted, holding Teagan against her chest again, "Aine! Just remember that you're one of my charges too!" She turned back to Anon, "Come on in, please forgive the mess, a few of my charges got a little out of hand, but Mora took them down to the park, so you don't have to worry about that."

She thought for a moment, actually starting to breathe again, "Well I got a letter from Lena telling me that it might be a good idea to plant him and see what happens so I planted him and well, here we are" she said in one breath, her face turning a little blue. Teagan was perfectly still in the pot, having drifted into a sleep-like state.

"Mmhm" she said, pulling them inside and closing the door, turning to walk toward a white couch, covered in various toys and crayons. She swiped a few of them off, mumbling random things to herself. "So, come on in, umm, I'm sorry there's so much junk everywhere, they haven't quite learned how to clean up after themselves."

She smiled, setting Teagan on the couch while she picked a few toys up off the ground. "They being a few of the younger children, mainly Kaori, Ilori, Isaura, Neon, and Aviva."

"But I'm afraid we'll have to meet them another day." Smiling to show she was sorry, Kat explained that she and Shouko had been flooded by visitors today, and they needed to get some sleep.
Walking out the door, Shouko turned, "Bye Auntie! Bye Teagan!"
