Flower blinks, not understanding. She takes another sip of coffee, then tries it again, "I wasn't ignoring anybody, was I? Besides, I don't know Cy all that well. It's not like we're dating. He's the brother of the lifebonded of my brother..."

Rayne nods. "Cy might act like a little man-whore, but really he's not. He does care for everyone he sleeps with (which totals of three) even if sometimes it's only a friendship thing. He does really like you, and I think he'd like to get to know you better. Trust me, I know my bro."

"They don't breed chikadees as bondbirds, Rayne. Mostly they breed more predatorial birds, like hawks, owls, eagles, and things like that."

Cy wanders back to the table and sits next to Flower again. He gives her a sad grin, and looks around the rest of the table.

Cy looks at her shocked. He wasn't quite serious about the video game thing, but he's not going to refuse. "Uhhh, sure." he says. He looks around the table. Rayne grins at him conspiratorily.

Cy was taken aback. Suddenly she'd gained interest in him again. He wasn't complaining, although he was a bit confused.
"I breed and train all the horses for the King's Guard. I have a touch of animal mindspeaking, so that made it much easier. Apparent;y I'm not good enough to be a Herald though." He smiled. "With the help of a few team members, we've developed a breed that's partially bred with the Shin'a'in warsteeds. We use similar training styles, and as you must know, shin'a'in bred horses are the best. It was difficult and it did take a long time to figure out, but we did. Not that we're nt still working on it."

"And surely that must give you a bit of a niche market, ne? I don't know much about heralds, but I'd expect you'd have to have a really strong gift, or many less strong gifts... but at least you found a practically use for it."

"No. It wouldn't." Rayne coinceded.
"He could try to annoy them." Cy said. "He wouldn't bother them though. They put up with a lot. Fairly easy going. Except when in battle of course." He smiled and patted her leg gently. "You look very nice today." He said, with no hint of fliriting in his voice.
