Nienna of the Valar I'm the only girl working at either of the two main GameStops in the Frederick area. surprised I'll be dressed for work, and wearing my nametag and everything, and people still come up to me to ask me if I really work there. xd Same thing kept happening to me. I used to work in the Security mall Gamestop, gotta love employees discount ^_^

Sorry for not responding sooner! Stupid real life interfering with my internet one. domokun
Oh man, the discount is AWESOME. 15% off of anything used, and employees can borrow any game that they want for 4 days for free, as long as there is at least one other copy of it for the shelves. We also get first dibs on things, and can reserve or hold back anything that we want for ourselves. heart
The only bad thing is the company dress code. It's business casual, which basically means nice pants and a polo. I had to buy some polo tops. Aah. gonk That wouldn't be bad on it's own, but I was planning on getting my eyebrow pierced, but they only allow ear and tongue peircings, or other non-visible ones. At least they allow tattoos. ^^
Oh, and GameStop should never sell scratched disks. It's company policy to test all used systems and check all used disks. If your fingernail can feel a scratch, meaning that it'll affect gameplay and can't be cleaned off, we're not supposed to buy it.
....A creepy old guy was hitting on me in the store yesterday, but my manager bought me a brownie batter from the Dairy Queen, so it was a good day. XD
Oh, and the coolest part? There's a big list of employees that you can put your name on, and they choose people from the list to go to E3. eek heart

Oblivion Goddess mysticneko Keiko Kurosaki Alright, one for the girls. I love gamestop... it's undoubtedly the best place to buy games. I buy just about all of my games there..even though, I usually go for the used ones. Why spend forty bucks on a new game when you can get it used for 20 with the same playability??
Most games I get are so scratched I have to take them to get polished. sweatdrop You can get it polished? We don't have any videogame stores around here so I figure my games are screwed. But does getting it polished get rid of scratches? Get some toothpaste, the old kind, not the new gel s**t, and put some on a kleenex, and rub the disc. Since toothpaste is an abrasive cleaner, it smoothes the scratches out.

Since toothpaste is an abrasive cleaner, it smoothes the scratches out.Holy crap! That toothpaste really works?! That's awesome! My boyfriend is always telling me that they use toothpaste to make scratched disks work, although they make it more interesting. They put the disk on a power drill, put toothpaste on a towel, place the towel against the top of the disk, and turn on the drill. xd He says it really works, but that the disk looks scratched to hell because of the stuff in the toothpaste. Also, I haven't seen any girls at either of our game stores in a while. The Gamestop guys are really nice and always talk to me when I'm buying stuff, but the guys who work in EB are kind of preppy and they act all high-and-mighty-like kind of like they're too aware of how pretty they are. confused One of my gamer friends saw a girl working in EB once though, and when she asked him if he needed any help or anything, he just kind of stared with his mouth open a little and then realized what he was doing and apologized. Then she said "It's cool. I get that all the time." xd

I think working at a game store is something most of us girl gamers want. we get to see all the upcoming games that are hitting the stores and info about new game sytems and stuff. and working there got my friend discounts so its pretty cool. Working at a game store is something i'll love to do and get paid for it all at the same time.

It's the opposite for me :3 Everyone thinks I work in GameStop because I am always in there helping the girl that does work there. They offered me a job but I'm not old enough yet crying Just 4 more months >_< Where I live, everyone knows who the gamer chicks are and who works where because we usually pwn the boys in Time Crisis at the arcade :3 It really does suck though that some people would be as ignorant to ask if you work there if you have the nametag and everything....I mean how else would you get it? Boys need to learn that girls will soon rule the world :3 I've noticed a major increase of girls for online games. Makes me happy!
