Laurell K Hamilton is really the only author I read that has anything to do with Vampires, Lycanthropy and the like... Well, unless you count the two books that I liked by Alice Borchadt, I'm still trying to get the third without having to buy it at full cost. I never really got into Anne Rice, I can't even read Interview With A Vampire all the way through without giving up.
My favourite authors are all fantasy related though. Raymond E Feist, Anne Bishop, Lynn Flewelling and a few more... And I may have read all five of the Harry Potter books but I certainly would NOT call JK Rowling one of my faves.
Oh, I also like a little bit of crime fiction like John Grisham and Jonathan Kellerman.

Hyperion Slave I'm rather fond of Anne Rice, though I prefer her Mayfair Witches books to the Vampire Chronicles. Well, The Witching Hour was good; the other two dragged a bit. I couldn't even read the Witching Hour. I was bored so quickly..... sweatdrop and Anne Rice is just overrated.....her stories are so....I dunno, but compared to Anita they're like nothing. I do want to read her sleeping beauty series though. Me and my pervy mind.

Narniakat Have you guys ever read any Christopher Golden books? He has a series of vampire stories that have a very interesting take on vampires. Also I like Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking. I am currently reading Minion by L.A. Banks, but I haven't decided if I like it yet. I loved Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison, and then i love the Harry Dresden Files...by Jim Butcher, he's more in the wizard department. I'm also for alot of the fantasy books, The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, Wheel of Time by Robert Jordon...the Song of Fire and Ice by George R.R Martin...then The Coldfire Trilogy...Then another trilogy by..Carol burg too...and Anne Bishops Black Jewels...yummy..

Alright, this is TOTALLY off of AB. Well, who writes fanfiction? Well, if you do, flamers are inevitable, right? Well, don't you hate the ones who are all "I am the Savior of Fanfiction! Bow to me and destroy your fics! Grovel at my feet!" and then the are brave enough to tell us where we can read theirs and it TOTALLY SUCKS?? scream I mean, COME ON!!! Don't falme if you suck right?..... ...... .... sweatdrop
Sorry, I just needed to rant...hehehehe *slips off the stage mumbling "Exit stage right"*

I hate when people are so critical of others. I mean jeeze, it takes balls just to put your stuff out there for people to read. I think anyone who does fanfic that puts it out there should get kudos just for being that brave.

I hate Louie. Whiner. Lestat, on the other hand, you might like. I'd recommend just skipping into The Vampire Lestat, Louie's story is childs play. You'll probably enjoy the adventure of Lestat and QotD a lot more. smile

I agree. I really liked The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned much better than Interview.

I agree, even though Louies life is a great way to learn about how someone else views Lestat, and how they all came to know each other. I admit i hate Louie with a passion. I loved Tale of the Body Theif, and the Devil Menmoch (sp)

Ooh I loved the end of Tale of the Body Thief. I love David! And the scene with him and Lestat at the end was brilliant!

I would still read Interview for the sole fact that Claudia appears in it. It doesn't have to be first priority but I would still put it on the list. Queen of the Damned owns me though.

I'm a Huge Laurell K. and Anne Rice fan 3nodding Once you get passed Interview with a Vampire (which is by Louis) you'll be fine. Whenever Lestat, Marcus, or Pandora are involved I am all ears. I love that story and Memnoch the Devil is Brilliant! Though I must admit I don't have to buy Anne Rice's books they day the come out like I do Laurell K. heart wink
