"Wow," Kari blinks, looking at one of her paws curiously, trying to decide if she'd gotten any bigger than earlier in her life, and then trying to imagine getting bigger. Wrinkling her nose at her paw, she looks back up to Chenza, "What kind of everythings are there that adults can do better than cubs? You must be good at lots of things I'm not!"
She nods enthusiastically, then looks around again when Chenza does so.
"That's why I stay here," she exclaims, "It's nice, but it'd be nicer if more people would play with me. I mean, if they want to play.." she pauses, recalling how Chenza had chased after her tail, deciding it was a save venture to ask, "Do you want to play a game?"

Chenza thought for a moment. Her mother had said something about raising pups, but she wasn't sure what her mother meant by that. It was probably something that she wasn't supposed to know. "Well...I can jump higher than I could when I was just a pup," she said, demonstrating this by leaping into the air. "And I can almost catch my tail when I chase it now...I think I'll figure out the other everythings when I need to figure them out."
Her ears perked up at the mention of a game. "A game sounds fun! What kind of game do you have in mind?"

Kari's expression turns enthusiastic and amazed, which is only partially genuine in her ever on-going attempt to make whoever she sees feel extra special. Jumping is an important skill, that's for sure!
"Oooh!" she exclaims at the tail-catching comment, turning her head to glare at her own tail now- that would explain why she can't catch it, she's not big enough yet. But even Chenza can only almost catch hers, maybe this cheetah'll never be able to.
"Um! What kind of games do you like? We could play hide and seek," Kari squeaks happily, "We did decide you'd be really good at that!"

"I'll bet you'd be really good at finding me," Chenza said. "Hide and seek sounds fun. I haven't had anyone to play hide and seek with for a really long time!" Chenza added as her eyes darted around the area, as if she were already trying to figure out the best spot to hide. "Do you wanna be It first?"
She grinned. "And then afterwards we can race. I'll bet you'll beat me at that."

Chuakari squeaks delightedly and nods, "Hide and seek will be fun! I'll be it first, I can count really high." Her tone is proud, and suggests that she expects Chenza to find it impressive that she can count, "Then you'll have lots of time to hide!"
She grins at their decision to play hide and seek, and then nods her approval of the race idea.
"I bet you're lots faster than me," she says, scrambling over and standing beside the dog, "See, your legs are a lot longer than mine." She holds out a leg to demonstrate.

"Yeah, but you're a cheetah," Chenza said. "Cheetahs are faster than wild dogs, from what I've heard. But anyway, Let's see how high you can count!" she exclaimed before winking and running in a random direction.
Scanning the area, she saw a tree. That would be a good place! The trunk was big, and she could hide behind it! Quickly Chenza ran the rest of the way to the tree and hid, deciding to keep her head partially in the open until the cheetah would get closer.

"Oh!" Kari blinks, putting her leg back on the ground, "I didn't know that! That's why you're so much smarter than me." She grins, then ducks onto the ground, covering her eyes with her paws to count. It takes her a second to get started as she gets over the excitement and trying to remember what Uri said, and the fact she had to pause makes her wary of the impression it may have given, so she starts to count all at once.
"Onetwothreefour," she says in one breath, then slows down a bit, "five, six.." Her tail swishes behind her, and her pace slows the higher she gets. She pictures the paw prints Uri used to help teach her, and with a laugh she finishes, ".. nineteen, tewnty!"
She doesn't move her paws from her eyes, but calls out, "Ready or not, here I come!" Despite the words, she does wait another second with her paws over her eyes before lifting them carefully to see if Chenza is still in the open. Hide and seek isn't as much fun if you don't get to hide, and she doesn't want to ruin the game. Not seeing the wild dog anywhere, she gets to her feet and starts to search.
"Cheeeeenza," she calls in a hushed voice to indicate that she's looking, her head moving this way and that as she walks. Kari doesn't notice the part of Chenza's head sticking out from the tree, but she does happen to move in the right direction.

Chenza's head quickly darted completely behind the tree, though she could not help a quiet giggle as she listened to the cheetah calling for her. This really was fun, and Kari had given her a generous twenty seconds to hide. Her counting had certainly been amusing to listen to as she hid behind the tree.
Hmmm...the bark on the tree was of an interesting texture. Chenza hadn't quite seen bark like the bark on this particular tree. Then again, she hadn't been this close to the bark of a tree to examine it all that closely. It was the only thing she really could do now, as she had to remain perfectly still.

Kari doesn't notice the head darting from view, but she does catch a bit of the giggling. Her ears turn back and she holds her head up high to try to see the source of the sound.
"Cheeeenza," she calls again, though this time in a hushed voice. Her ears turn back forward and she tries to listen for more laughing, while trying to remember where exactly the sound seemed to come from before. Her gaze in the general direction, she tries to decide where would be a good place to hide..
And she spots a rock, not far from the tree Chenza is actually hiding behind. With a quiet gasp she lowers herself to the ground and slinks towards the rock, expecting to find Chenza there. When only a little ways from the rock, she leaps up onto it.
"Aha!" she exclaims, but immediately her triumphant expression changes to a puzzled one. Chenza is not behind the rock at all! She shivers and jumps down behind the rock herself, frowning. It's just a game, but would she look foolish for leaping at the rock like that? Kari stays behind the rock for several seconds, but then peaks around it- the tree Chenza is hiding behind in clear view from there.

Chenza couldn't see what was going on beyond the bark, but she could certainly hear the triumphant "Aha!". Her eyes darted to either side of her, and she noted that there was no seeking cheetah looking at her. She must have mistaken something else for Chenza. But she was close...must...not...laugh.
Okay, surely a tiny snicker wouldn't hurt. Especially since Chenza had the perfect hiding spot, complete with really interesting bark!

Kari's eyes move back and fourth over the little scene infront of her, her ears tilted forward at the sound of a quiet laugh. She looks directly at the tree, deciding from the direction the laugh came, that tree is probably the best hiding place. Of course, this time she doesn't get triumphant too quickly. She takes a move stealthy approach this time and slinks to the tree, and peeking around it.
When she sees Chenza, this time she only grins.

Chenza grinned. This really was the perfect hiding spot. No one could ever find her behind this nice bark!...when she finally looked over and saw Chuakari, she yelped in surprise and nearly stumbled over herself.
"You found me!" she said, once she had calmed her nerves a bit. "That was really clever of you! Whadya want to do now?"

Chuakari's grin fades when Chenza spots her and yelps. The small cheetah takes a step back, looking anxious and upset. She didn't mean to surprise her, or make her almost trip! Not at all!
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you," she cries, her tone rather whiny, "Are you ok? I'm sorry!" Kari watches the wild dog fearfully, and doesn't seem to cheer up too much when Chenza calms down a bit.
"I.. I guess.." she stammers, sitting down, "What do you want to do now?"

"Oh, I'm fine," Chenza said. "It's my fault for getting distracted by the interesting bark on this tree. Don't worry about it," she said as she looked around the area, surveying the land for a suitable stopping point for a race.
"I think it would be fun to race now," the wild dog said after she spotted a rock in the distance. "We can race to that rock out there. The first one who touches it will win. Does that sound good to you?"

"No, I'm sorry," Kari repeats, still sounding whiny, "I didn't mean to, I should have known you weren't paying attention and been more careful.."
Her purple eyes follow Chenza's gaze to the distant rock, then back at Chenza. She is encouraged by Chenza's enthusiasm about a race, so she stops sulking so much and decides to focus on the next thing. Racing might cheer Chenza up, which will make up for surprising her.
"Ok," she says, standing back up.
