I was reading and my brother asked me if I wanted to go to a concert with him in a few weeks and I just nodded and mummbled " Sure why not now go away". Then weeks later he said " Jenny it's time to go to the concert". I flipped out because I didn't even like the band that was playing. My mom made me go because he already payed for the tickets. Sometimes reading even gets me in trouble. Oh well, I couldn't live without it so I would rather get in trouble.

"Movie or a Game, you pick. We can play Uno!" "Nu." "Please Meranda, C'mon." "If you give me Novels I'll do it. =)" "We don't have any books. We don't read." " eek What?!"

...The only thing that happens to me when I read is that I completely lose track of time...for instance, last night I was suppoesed to stop reading and go to bed at 9:45...and my mom came in and yelled at me at 10:30...because I had completely lost track of time...but luckily I finished that book...I had been reading it for months, so I really needed to finish it...

No one has ever really disturbed me like that while reading but was reading once and I started around 10:30 pm and didn't realize how late it was getting untill I finished the book around 3 am. I usually draw at school instead of reading and I get completely lost while I'm drawing because I'm kind of a perfectionist but someone threw a paper ball at me and I got really mad and kicked him when we got out of class. I just said that because thats the closest thing thats happened to getting lost in my own world reading.

When I read in the car, I end up falling asleep, but when I read in MY chair, the whole world stops(Mediforicly). But I zone out alot, like today, I was lying on the couch, and my sister( lets just say number 1) told me to call her when the oven beeped. So, I just layed there and watched Edward Siccorhands. Next thing I know, my other sister( number 2) is standing infront of me, telling me that the oven was beeping to I yelled up to sister number 1 and...ya, I had no clue that the oven beeped.

I used to get really absorbed in a good book during class. My reading material would normally get confiscated.

YES!
When I was reading my friend put shaving cream in my hair, and on my favorite pillow, and then pulled on my hair, so that when I was swatting what I thought was a fly away, I got a handful of shaving cream. gonk

People always try and talk to me while I'm reading in school. I usually ignore them, then they get mad at me. They have just started to catch on to my 'own little world while reading' phenomenon, thankfully. Now I don't have to tell them to go away.
I've also had my picture taken while reading. My friend wanted a picture of me on his phone, but I never let him take one. I was reading this really good novel and was totally absorbed until I saw the flash of the camera. >>;
I get absorbed in math class a lot. My teacher doesn't care because I either read or sleep in that class, so I suppose he prefers me reading.

my mother do say that I must get out of this little world. Poor her she never wanted to read one of the book I wanted she read I do get in trouble for reading in classes (even woodshop) and always miss my stop in the city bus (and people always look at me wierdly when I giggle or cry)
strange teachers always take away my drawings but never my books....

My parents usually give up and leave me in my own world unless it's extreamly important. Then they just take my book away.

Have happened a couple of times, they use make faces or similar things when they don't think I am aware. Pity I already know what they are doing, I just pretend not to notice(and sometimes I even forget that.)
