Help Me Mother.

Kaimi Van Fossen knelt in silence her robes bunched around her knees, bare legs pressed against a rough rug. Silence was not an idea that was well known to the flamboyant and out going woman, but when it came to praying she knew how to do it well. She quietly muttered her prayers to the Spider Goddess. Her hands were clasped tightly in front of her until her knuckles were tinged white. Words fell to the ground and seemed to hover in the in the darkness. Voices and soft murmurs could be hear from outside the small tent, but nothing was comprehendible; it seemed to be the normal night time chatter.
“Please Maya, eight legged mother grant my wish allow the children to live.”
Kaimi knew the Magi, well she understood that their beliefs clashed with her own, and they would assume that she had cast a spell on their children. Understand what importance children played in a clan setting forced her to pray for them. That along with the thought that they would either kill her; which was not the Magi way or be send her to trials in Carn'ag.

"The children have come down with an illness, as you well know. I am assuming that it was a malevolent person trying to weaken our large group. Only a few of the magi children have gone unpunished. I ask you please my mother, my Goddess spare them, punish the one who is at fault." Kaimi wrapped up her prayer ended in formal tradition. "Goddess help, protect, and guide me. For I am lost within your web."

"The first fatality, death has come to one of the children. Kill the blasphemer!" a lament echoed through the compound. The black lash and uproar of which started Kaimi out of her trance like praying.

"Dear god! This can not be happening," she whispered and stood to exit her tent. She fluttered her wings in frustration. She was not like a child, she knew that the gods often did not answer prayers but this was ridiculous. At least have the child die a few days later, not as she finished praying.
"You bet your watch and warrant this is happening, you b***h."

Kaimi's eyes widened and she turned slowly to the cut entrance in her tent. There stood Ivan Denvah, the leader and elder of the Magi. He stood with a large iron (gun) in his shaky hands, finger pressed against the trigger.
"Master Ivan, you are no gunslinger," she whispered her voice gone horse. For one of the first times in her life she was afraid, and on top of that silent.
"Take her to one of the stock carts, tie her up she's not getting out until we reach Carn'ag." The gun fell from his fingers and he turned quickly away allowing two men to enter the tent.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Trip to Carn'ag

The actual trip from their encampment to Carn'ag would take six days, Kaimi was conscious for two of them. She'd been beaten, bludgeoned, and unmentionable things had been done to her. She was not allowed to leave the stock cart that they chained her in, and she was not allowed to eat.
Kaimi's spirit was destroyed in those six days, she spent most of them praying and crying; her lips moved constantly with prayers to the mother goddess as well as prayers to her own biological mother.

Kaimi groaned as she awoke on the last day, she sat in a urine stained robe and her left eye was swollen shut. Her wings ached she had been placed on top of them unable to shift her weight away from them. They had stopped on the outskirts of Carn'ag.

"I've always wanted to see the big city," she jeered to no one in particular as an officer of the City Commission of Criminal Detainment entered the back of the cart and began to pull her out slowly holding on to her robes and hair.

"You are Kaimi Van Fossen, alleged murderer of eighteen children, are you not?" The officer's voice was monotone and seemed to be utterly life less. This was her chance, tell them your a different person, do it! her mind screamed.

"Yar, I am Kaimi Van Fossen."

"The commission heads will see you in a fortnight, until then you'll be kept in detainment.

That's all she wrote, from that point on Kaimi did not speak a word, not even to defend herself in front of the commission. The Goddess had a plan with her, and this must be apart of it.

Hey There Delilah!

Sissi Reed sprawled across her down comforter, over a dozen newspapers were shoved in odd corners and laid out in front of her. Rocking her foot gently to the music on her stereo she had six highlighters in her hands and colored coded each want add by distance from her house to how much they paid. The system would have been flawless had she been concentrating hard enough on the task at hand and not on the little baby she would soon be receiving.

"I wander if it'll have twelve eyes and green skin, after all it is an alien? I should think of her as a she though, she is not an it," she pondered to herself.

She lived in a modest little apartment in Gambino. It had two rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom with a shower stall, and a hallway that connected each room. It wasn't much, but it was her's, no one had bought it no one else had done it for her; that really did make it her's.

"This is no place for a baby, even an alien one," she groaned and looked down at the Gambino Times. With only the equivalent of a high school education she was having a pretty hard time finding employment of any kind. "Maybe I could ask someone if they need a baby sitter, how hard could it be to watch a baby?"

If only Sissi knew about the other criminals, oh but she would find out soon enough.

Sissi was a proud person, and wasn't quite sure what to make of her new situation on Gaia. She was ashamed to have to search through want adds, when on the planet Earth she had everything she could have ever wanted. So why didn't she stay? She had never spent enough time in one place to actually have to have a job.

I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar.

They really broke the Mold

Sissi Reed sat hunched over an old Dell computer a thin layer of dust surrounding it; it had been plugged in on the floor of her modest apartment's living room. It was impossible to describe her need and want for a job. She had been working for a good doctor doing odd jobs and he was starting to get a little too "touchy feely," and it had become to uncomfortable to go in to work. Needless to say her mind was at a stand still she needed a job to support her habits, as well as the new child that lay snoring all four arms wrapped around her.

"Seema, Seema," Sissi hummed and clicked on another link, waiting for the page to refresh, "Couldn't have taken the millions with me, could I?"

A hiccup echoed over the clatter of the young woman's typing and she was surprised to look up to see Seema's bright eyes peering out at her. She had lifted herself up by her first set of arms and was on all…sixes staring off the bed.

"Good morning, sleepy head, how was your nap?" Sissi cooed and stood up, her bones cracked and screamed reluctantly as she moved; she really needed to get some furniture. No sound came from the four-armed beauty as she watched her guardian walk towards her. it was eerie most children at least make noise when they were spoken to.

"Alright, the shy silent type, I get it," Sissi sat down beside Seema on the bed, the two toned eyes following her. Seema reached out one tattooed hand and grabbed a hold of Sissi's arm, as if to say she wished she could speak…

"You have no clue what I have been through," the baby thought and a wide grin spread across her face, it was a perfect thing. Sissi liked to talk and Seema was all about listening. The baby had never seen electric lights let alone a computer, and was baffled by all of it; she wanted to ask the questions, but was sure that Sissi would already be telling her the answers as long as she stayed quiet.

"Want a song?" Sissi snagged her guitar by it's strap and started to play a few cords, "I'll teach you when you're older," she hummed and started to play.

"I give her all my love
That's all I do
And if you saw my love
You'd love her too
I love her,"

Still no real reaction from Seema, her eyes were transfixed on Sissi and she dragged herself closer to feel Sissi's arm with all four hands. Sissi stopped playing abruptly and her eyes started to tear up, "hey, when you get older, I bet you can sing better than I can, little one."

"why are you crying, my mother?" Seema blinked looking up at her, only if she could say what she felt, "You can set your watch and warrant on the fact that you're no gunslinger."

God Gave Me the World AND Kept You in it.

A four armed creature clung tightly to bars of her little prison, a cage. Peering out through two toned eyes. She was recooping from the shock of leaving her home, leaving MidSwing and learning what this place was. There was electricity, computers, cars, creatures that she had never seen before. She wanted her goddess, wanted her mother, but Sissi would do.

Sissi really was a goddess to her, she may be an adult trapped in a child's body but it was the truth, Sissi was magical all in herself. In this world of hundreds of strange beings, Sissi was normal. Seema loved to watch her work everything out and rush around, sometimes she wished she could cure the rushing, could hold Sissi in her arms and tell her everything would be okay. And believe me did she have arms! She liked looking like a spider, but how to explain that...?

She was growing of course, a little /too/ big for the crib and it was about time Sissi realizes this, of course Sissi couldn't afford another bed, so she would have to sneak into Sissi's.

"I luv ou my new mother," she whispered, her voice was not her own, and did not sound quite adult, but that didn't matter.

Big Girls Don't Cry-ai-ai!

Seema snarled hatefully as she sat naked in a bathtub of cold water, her entire body rippling with goose flesh. Sissi was giving her a bath and she refused to co-operate. Sissi was exhausted after a hard day at her new job, She worked as a custodian at the local school and was doing quite well for herself, so much so that she was going to buy Seema new clothes today, and if she was good a suprise.

"C'mon!" Sissi called from the other room as she flicked on her radio and rushed back into the small bathroom. Her eyes twinkling with excitment, "there'll be water if god wills it." she still spoke in the high speech from time to time, and this was one of those situations. Seema was never this stubborn.

I want a pet. she echoed in her mind, I'll get one! Seema has been bringing all sorts of creatures into the house, spiders, bugs, mice, rats, the neighbor's cats. Anything she could get all four hands on!

She had grown and was able to walk now, how? Sissi didn't know, but she could. Sissi didn't even get to document her first steps, infact Sissi forgot all about being a scientist with Seema.

"I'll buy you anything you want at the store, all you have to do is TELL me what you want! Stop being a bloody Ka-mai and help!"

Seema reluctantly allowed Sissi to wash her and helped out the best she could by grabbing the rag and cleaning her arms. She was astonished that
Sissi spoke high speech, only those of her world spoke it..by Sissi was from this world..wasn't she?

"Spider," Seema spoke quietly her voice rummbling from deep inside, "Spider."

The radio droned with classic oldies and Sissi sat on the side of the tub astonished.

You are my Dihn, and we've started our tet, Gunslinger.

It took young Sissi quite a bit of time to recoop from hearing the little creature speak, it had been months since recieving Seema, and now she spoke? Why? Sissi had run over every possible reasoning that the child had spoke and could find none, had Sissi said something that triggered it? She didn't think so. And..why a bug? She want's a bug? Okay, arachnid, but still!

Seema glared at Sissi through the booster seat in the old beat up Cadillac, it was something that Sissi had recently aquired with the money she had been making from her custodial job. Ka-mai..me? Ha! If looks could kill Sissi would have already been dead, Seema was giving her the all time death-ray stare.

"Kiddo-- you and I need to come to some sort of understanding. You will speak, or you wont get a spider, you got that?"

"Dihn," Seema said and folded all four arms across her chest and looked out the smudged window.

"I am your dihn, I am your leader or mother, which ever version you use of high speech, and you will respect me!" Sissi grunted and switched lanes at the same time.

"Ka-tel?" Seema huffed, her voice was small and childlike, but there was an adult intelligence in her tone.

What did she mean by Ka-tel? That meant a gunslinger who was learning..but there were no gunslingers, not anymore? "What about Ka-tels? Were you one? Did you want to be a gunslinger?"

"No , you are one," Seema turned slowly her two-toned eyes shifting to the rearview mirror so she could see Sissi's reaction, "We are tet. You will buy Gunna, you will see."

Dear God! What had little Sissi Reed gotten herself into? Flashes of being in Midworld and seeing everything through the eyes of a scientist entered her mind. She had spent sometime there, and she knew for sure she was not a slinger of anything, so what was Miss Seema rambling about?

"Kiddo, you and I need to get this straight, I am buying clothing, not gunna, and although we are tet, and I am not a ka-tel, the last Gunslinger died a looooong time ago, on a world far far away."

"You will see," Seema snorted, snorted! That morning the toddler didn't say two words, and now she was saying small sentences and SNORTING!

The itsy Bitsy Spider..holy ******** what is that!

The brunette young adult groaned in terror as she glanced around the pet store. Guitar slung around her back, held by a taunt strap and four or five shoping bags clung tightly, she white knuckled them to the point her palms bled..."Little Seema Reed...you've been so good my little Ka-baby, perhaps you'll pick something cute, look at this one." she tapped the glass casing around a group of dwarf rabbits, "they're fluffy...?"

Seema blinked absently at her adopted mother and completely ignored the disgusting bucktoothed creature, she was on a mission! Her two-toned eyes flicked to the encasement of a eight legged creature.

"Spider?" she inquired and pointed with with two arms towards the display, "Rosie here?" she bummbled over, knocking into a nice gentlemen looking at ferrets, and touching the back leg of a woman who seemed to be utterly confused by the snakes as they coiled together.

"No way, Jose! No arachnids! Bunnies, hamsters, snakes, mice, rats, anything, but no spiders!" She called to the alien child and quickened her pace muttering apologies to the people as she squeezed past them.

"This, Rosie." Seema slapped her hand against the glass, the spider flinched and withdrew beneath a plastic branch. The sign beneath the display read, ' Mexican Red knee tarantula.'

"Not thinking so..that's someone else's pet..!"

Needless to say, little Seema got her pet, and little Rosie was packaged safely and placed beside Seema as she sat in her booster seat.

Early in the morning
The spiders love to spin,
Then by and by
The flies drop in.

And when they come,
The spiders always say,
“We’re glad you came
For dinner today”!

Rosie, the red-kneed tarantula crept happily across a pink and red tanned face, litgh brown hair clinging to her body. The two-toned alien brat looked on, backing away slowly ready to run at any moment.

"WHAT IN THE!?" The face growled, startling the arachnid, "SEEMA!"

"Sorry, Sissi," the meek voice bubbled, "But...uh...I'm hungry, it's two o'clock!" Seema took a step back.

"Alright, what do you want...?" She said as she picked up the terrified spider and set her quickly on the pillow. In the last few months Seema, and Rosie, both seemed to be growing much bigger. Sissi had been doing many experiements to try and see if the four armed brat had any powers or anything more unique than her physical characterisitics, thus far there was no avail..she was still just...Seema, although she knew far to much for her age. The assumption was that, like Archie had said, she was a criminal in a past life who was changed someone when taken here. Seema rarely if ever spoke about anything to do with her other world, she just spoke to the spider.

"Oatmeal mixed with MiracleGrow. Rosie wants something too!"

"You know she only eats crickets!"

One thing that was quite mysterious was that Seema did not act like a criminal, she acted more like a very mature toddler...was she faking?

"Put her back in her tank and I'll make some oatmeal," Sissi grumbled.

Scribbles in Green Crayon:

A journal entry is the best to start, I suppose. I Seema...formerly Kaimi have come to a planet not like my own, and for the past almost year have been feigning a childlike demeanor. I am sick of being a feeble four armed freak child. I want my life back. What's worse?! I have no access to stationary and have been forced to write this on coloring book pages of a strange cat coloring book entitled, "Kiki Kitty" what silly names these Gaians create.

Sissi is not what I had expected for someone to help me in a "better" life...she's well...weak minded..and simplistic. I wish all the best for her, but I am utterly sick of her nonesense! I am an adult damn it! I know that I look like a child and talk little..but I am still an adult! Treat me as such you vile woman!

My anger is only do to where I am..and how I have gotten here, has the Goddess forsaken me? My only real comfort is Rosie..she'll be my companion...perhaps that is what will get me through all of this.

Mixin' Oil and Wata

With miraclegro smeared across her face and a mouthful of green Mac'n'cheese Seema grinned toothily at Seema as the older scientist talked. The criminal had completely zoned her care giver out and was mindlessly nodding and agreeing and sometimes disagreeing to statements she couldn't even hear.

"Are you sure you've never been able to levitate?"

"I could fly." Seema spat a hard piece of the miraclegro out onto her plate gracelessly.

"The wings give that away, can you still fly?" Sissi asked distaste welling inside of her, she'd explained to Seema that spitting was unlady like..but the toddler..who wasn't a toddler at all was not into listening.

"Do I still have wings?" The eerie childlike voice snapped back, "Can we go to the park, Rosie wants to stretch her legs."

"No, not yet, Seema. Can you tell me where you're from again, all about it?"

"No, park now, your silly questions later." Sissi was sure she was going to break the plate that sat infront of her, the girl was infuriating. Seema had ruined almost every shirt she had and had destroyed most of the dining wear. It was like she was uncivilized!

"Alright, the park now, go get Rosie, I'll meet you in the hall." Sissi huffed and started heading towards the front door. What had she gotten herself into, it was like renting a freak baby!

Goodbye, baby.

As the story goes, at least in Sissi’s point of view I did a horrible and unforgivable thing, I can understand, really I can, but anger is something I am not well suited for. For anyone finding this journal, because I really have a journal now: I am Seema, called Seema Reed, but this is not my name. this cannot be my life. In a panic of confusion and hatred I accidentally destroyed my companions prized possession, accidents seem to be my forte. We were arguing early in the Gaian day and she stepped on and ripped off one of my dear friend Rosie’s legs. Enraged I threw her beloved guitar across our tiny living room, it shattered, it was an earth possession, and they do not make them exactly the same on this planet. I wish I could take it back, but this seems to be the last straw, my angry outbursts have caused too much pain for my guardian, the one that take care of my body, not my mind. I am to return to Archie, the guy who has brought what seems like many aliens into this world, what is my fate? Do I have a fate? Will I be returned to my people? Or will I be further punished. I do hope this is sorted out quickly and smoothly, I am in great need of time to regroup, perhaps find others of my kind and find what they are doing, although I am sure no one of my planet is here, I would like to meet other criminals, see if they were wrongly punished.
