I bought a Gameboy SP but the lighting on the older versions sucked, I heard the same thing about the Nintendo DS. My boyfriend had purchased a PSP and I freaking love that thing. We both plan on getting a Nintendo DS Lite though, as the lighting has improved. That may be one of my large purchases before Christmas.

I have a DS, and it's like it came from Heaven. The only problem is, in the slot for GBA games, you can't put older games, such as the Original Game Boy and Game Boy Color Games in it, since it doesn't fit. So, I have both a DS, and an SP, so maybe you can just steal your bro's. 3nodding

woohoo, i just got a nintendo ds lite today. i love how the screen is so bright and the colorful. eek it's very mesmerizing because i haven't played gameboy in so long... so the colorfulness is a big change from only having two colors. xd
i need to get more games for my ds, but i haven't decided what yet. i want something simple like mario, but the store didn't have too much of a selection. a lot of their stuff seemed to be sold out, so i only ended up getting tetris and kingdom hearts: chain of memories. ^^;

ok, i have a few reasons why you should get the ds (lite.ahh, the ds lite. its almost as if nintendo and apple got together one night, had a one night stand, and the byproduct of a night filled with hot, steamy pixelated action came out 9 months later. behold, the ds lite! almost as if it were sent by god himself....ANYWAYS). alongside the fact that you have a system that can play gba games in such great resolution, the ds library is lightyears ahead of the psp's. the only games that i can think of that i like on the psp, and i use that term very lightly, are burnout revenge, midnight club and gta liberty city stories. notice how all three of those games have to do with( or in gta's case, somewhat) driving. gets really boring really fast on a system that doesnt have the greatest diversity of game genres, or games in that case. the ds on the other hand has got a fairly impressive library. ( I think that new super mario bros. was the final nail in the coffin of reasons why NOT to get a psp, but lets not start a battle in the great holy war between fanboys here, mkay?)alongside super mario 64 ds, mario kart and alot of mario ports, there are also a plethera of games that i am looking to buy. trauma center: under the knife is freaking awesome, and its been years since ive seen that kind of revolutionary gameplay. i was shocked and amazed when i played TC, and brain age and nintendogs are just 2 more examples of the direction i believe the gaming industry should be going in.
now, the new ds has got an amazing backlit screen, and the size and shape of the console is just orgasm inducing. now that i have ranted on for some god forsaken reason, the real deal comes down to this: the ds has an internet peripheral coming out VERY soon, and the price is $130, as compared to the psp. case closed.

I have a DS and to be honest I'm a little disappointed. I really don't have a good game for it although that's also trough my lack of money but I must say that when I just had the DS I played all my GBA games on it, but now I just play them on the SP again. Yes the screen is not as good as teh Ds but it's really irritating to have two screens where only one is working. It pains me to say it because I always loved nintendo and I liked the games they produced although I don't like mario games. But I prefer my PSP they've come up with nice games, not briliant ones but just good and Valkyrie profile comes on that one but on the other hand the DS is going to get FF.
Just make sure you have a few DS games you would like before bying the DS. I think they're are some good games out there. but if the choice is between a DS or a SP, go for the DS. I think you would else regret it later.
