The population is mostly non-robots right, so can i take the marked defect?

You can only fly if you take a flight attribute, regardless of wings.

Since it is the modern world of today I would suggest Marked: 2 if your robot is basically humanoid in appearance, if he has things like wings, extra arms or eye stalks he should take Marked: 3.

Looks like we have two Gun Bunnies now, played by Sylvanes and DJ Ducki, which is probably a good thing. We probably don't need any more of those though. It would probably be good to have a Hot Rodder (to drive the van) and Tech Genius (which is basically a modern rogue) too if anyone's interested in those. Still room for any other character you may be thinking of too, as long as it's not a Gun Bunny. wink

if push comes to shove and no-one takes the role of hot-rodder i'll swap some of my ranks in heavy weapons for drive because i don't really see a use for it

Like, will my character, who is a mercenery, begin the game with gun's, which should be avalable to his line of work, or will I have to put in points to personal gear to give him guns, bulletproof vests, ect?

Yes, that's what the Personal Gear attribute is for. It replaces starting cash. Usually revolver pistols and armor are minor items, while rifles and auto pistols are major items. If you are only going to own 1 or 2 minor items you don't need to bother, but if you are going to have 4-5 minors and a major item I'd recommend it.

The D20 BESM book lists what type of item each weapon is in the same table that gives damage.

The personal gear attribute should be used even if you chose Owned By a Megacorp, because you will be the who actually has them.

One more thing about Taro, his AC should be +5 since BESM uses the defense roll system. You roll 1d20+AC when you get attacked, so you don't add 10 like you do in regular D&D.

tech genuises are also a giant robot's best friend smile plus i may be a robot but i still learn who is the med-pack with legs so to speak mrgreen

Maybe give her some other INT related skills that might be use as an investigator, since that will probably be one of her high stats.

Aha, now that I have a copy of your character so far, let me make up a little list of the more common attributes for a robot. I only award background points after I read you background, having a pic counts for a good description though, which is figured in mrgreen
