Tigress Dawn I think a trickier question here would be: Would you sacrifice yourself to save 2000 people you didn't know? I think I would probably do that. Unless they all had AIDS or something and were going to die very soon anyway... then there'd kinda be no point. And it would actually be more merciful to just let them die, because death from AIDS is reportedly horribly, horribly painful... anyway. Assuming they're all healthy and of reasonable intelligence... I'd have to say yes. If I didn't know? Yes again. Because the chances of all two thousand people being complete morons and infected with AIDS are relatively slim. I don't know if my opinion on this matters much though. I'm kind of quasi-almost suicidal...

if i had someone, then yes, i would, but no girl has ever said tehy truely love me. so i cant realyl say if i really would or not. ive only had 3 gfs..and all have dumped mebecause i didnt kiss them enough , or hold their hand or call them enough. so im guessinggirls my age hate me, so im going for someone my maturity lvl , and looking for a 18-19yr old, better suited for me i guess.

Kudos to LibidinalCatharsis for bringing up this point far too many never even consider in their selfish martyrdom. Yes, martyrdom is selfish. But then, so is letting the other person live. So, we're pretty much selfish either way, huh? Oh well.
As for the martyrdom to save 2000? Sure, we can all be nice people and claim we'd do it. But I bet most of us, when it comes down to it, would not do it. So personally I avoid making such claims, for like everyone else, it would become quickly hollow in the heat of the moment.

For the ones I love? Well, my life means very little to me, so yes I would die for them any day. However, what's harder for me is to live for them. I welcome death with open arms, but for them I still live.
As for dying for the 2000. Same thing. Unless all 2000 of them really wanted to die for some reason then I think I can honestly say that I would die for them.

Well for the person I love I would die for sure for them (concidering it has almost come to that as someone almost gave thier life for mine I would have to I guess)
For 2000people I most definitly would no questions asked.

Well, death does not, never has, and never will scare me. Hell, I've been hit by 2 cars and a bus! But, never once was I scared. Why? Because if the gods want me, they'll take me one way or another. So, why not save lives in the process?

For 2000 stranger? ******** them, I like myself more than that and hate people to much for that. I met my soul mate and we loved each toerh and all that s**t then I had to make the choice. I would die myself but if I had the chance I would go down fighting. Then either both of us live or I've died and she's been freed or had the chance to escape and I died fighting. This in turn means I get to go to Valhalla because I died in battle. It all works out. But two thousand people I dont know and dont care about? ******** them.

I would like to say that I would sacrifice myself... But the truth is, in a real life situation where one must give their life.. I know that I would not have the guts to speak up and that I would secretly wish for the other to give their life for mine. Then, if they did, I know I would blame myself forever...

I'd sacrifice my life for someone I loved. If they became miserable the rest of their life, then why don't they try and think. We didn't sacrifice ourselves for them to want and go and kill themselves. We sacrificed ourselves so they could LIVE. Misery is not living. As for sacrificing myself for a thousand people, in an instant.

I don't think you can say definitively that an event like that would affect everyone in the same way: you can look at it from any perspective. I can't say what I would do in that sitruation, either: I've never been in a situation that was in any way similar to that. I could say "Well, I would do this," or "I would do that," but even after hours of pondering I doubt I could understand what I would be thinking or what I would choose until I was actually faced with the choice.
