No one has a boring name, except for Playstation 3.
Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution are original names. <3

Yeah, I can see the trend. Most of my friends call the Revolution the "Gamecube 2" or "The Next Gamecube"

The same thing goes for the Gameboy. They originally called it GB, which they then changed to GBP (pocket), which then became GBC (color), then GBA (advance), then GBASP (advance SP). Some people were a little confused when they heard Nintendo DS last year though, because its a portable that isn't called Gameboy, though people who recognize the creator should know that its good if they like the GBA/GBASP). Nintendo is kinda doing this with their consoles though, because they are merely changing what they system is called, and keeping Nintendo before it (Nintendo 64, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo Revolutions).

The thing is, Microsoft is making X-box 2. For the people that don't like X-box, that's a clear Stay Away sign. All I can hope is that since X-box 2 is supposed to come out a year earlier than PS3/Revolution (I haven't looked it up, but my friend says EGM claims it will come out near the end of this year) it ends up failing like Dreamcast and Microsoft becomes a third party company like Sega (Except Sega doesn't suck).

Actually, Microsoft doesn't make games at all, just hardware. And the new console is code named "Xenon".

TEchnicly they do, since they have a company called Microsoft Game Studios, which makes a few games for the PC and Xbox.

And the Xbox 2's name is sitll unknown. The name Xbox 360 is almost set in stone now, but that is sitll to be rebealed tongiht on the MTV revealing.
