Hawaiian_Gurl Well i have a question how old was Leia when she give birth to Maremia ? Because in EW Maremia was 7 or 8 years old , aslo we all know that Trize was about ( please forgive me if i get the number wrong crying ) 19 or 20 years old when he passaway . Aslo i wonder did Lady Une knew that Trize has a daugther? because too me in EW she knew all the long ? . Well.... when Trieze and Heero first met (well when Heero shot Trieze's Leo with a bazooka, go heero!) Heero was about 8 years Old. by teh time EW rolls around Mariameia is about 8 years old. Trieze and Leia Barton met shortly after Trieze was hospitalized from protecting Noin from the Bazooka shot. Trieze if I remember correctly was about 24. Zechs and Noin where about 20-19 years old. Oddly enough Noin was a Cadet at 11???? and Trieze an Instructor at 16 (Damn army gets them young) back in the day when he first met Leia Barton. so Leia could have been about 16-17 when she had Mariameia...... Damn Trieze works fast XD I'm going by the numbers inside the Episode Zero manga and also what I remember from the Anime.

I think that's about right.
Although when you think about it, those ages are awfully young. But then, I was already shocked to find out that Treize was 24 in the anime...

well at one point in time it was unheard of to not be married at 16. they believed it was better to marry youthful and have a strong family.
japan's culture that is.

It's not unlike European culture either. Generally, everyone wanted big families for more hands, but in poorer countries more kids meant more mouths to feed. For the Winners, they were rich, so I guess that's okay for them. XD

Just that he doesn't get a chance to be thankful for that. And his sisters were all girls... is that a test tube defect or just some random streak?

Hard to say. If they have test tube babies, they probably have genetic engineering. Besides, in EZ, Mrs. Winner specifically says "I wanted to bear your son personally". That means they had to know all along that Quatre was going to come out a boy.
Of course, this begs the question: why did they decide to have 29 daughters?

Because they were insane to have 30 kids in the first place. Or, they probably wanted only one son to be old fashioned and leave everything to the boy and not have brothers fighting over the money. Either works for me.

If they wanted one son they wouldn't have twenty-nine other daughters, maybe two or three. Maybe the Winner corporation needed more hands to work the company - we didn't see twenty-eight of the sisters, did we?

Just because they don't want more than one son, doesn't mean they don't or can't have daughters.

My theory is that Master Winner wanted a large family to help maintain his numerous resource satellites, can't say why they waited till Quatre to have a boy though!
