.:. A Change in Lifestyle .:.

Life is good! Here I am in a beautiful jungle with my newfound sister, a beautiful girl and wonderful scenery that greets me every morning. I bet you're wonderng what has changed though aren't you? The last you saw me was when I was a skinny little cub, wandering the world alone after leaving my stupid pride behind.

Well let me tell you it was all by coincidence, but quite simply it is a day I will never forget.

So here I was lying on a rock, glancing around and actually finding myself pretty bored. The sun was shining and on the horizon was the pride rock. Well I'd heard of the place before...what lion hasn't? But I never thought I'd actually get so far in my short time of travelling. Well anyway here I was minding my own buisness when suddenly from the grass appears this beautiful femme.

And I mean beautiful!

She had eyes like deep pools of water...or a brilliant summer sky and her fur...well it was the colour of the sun! So golden that she seems to glow under the sun. Well of course, could you blame me for flirting with her a little bit?

No I didn't think so. I mean here's me with no company for a couple of weeks and then bam! A brilliant young lioness appears and my newly found hormones go on the fritz.

Well anyway she seemed to enjoy my flirtacious ways and I charmed her in so fast I surprised even myself. Seems I've improved in my girl-chatting skills, maybe I should go pro?

Anyway so I got talking to her and she let me in on the fact that she didn't like her mum and the way she was treated in her pride, so of course I offer up the chance for her to join me on a journey. Well for a moment it seemed like everything was going well and life was good.

But all good things have to come to an end...don't they?

.:. The Goddess Judgement .:.

Well the first thing to suggest that my luck was about to end was when we met up with a lion called Hidalgo, boy was he annoying, thinking he was such a pretty boy and trying to muscle in on my girl!

Well anyway I think Maawio was impressed that I managed to protect her from him and it wasn't long before he was walking off. Well anyway I don't lik being ignored so I followed him and saw the most amazing thing.

She was beautiful...stunning...gorgeous! She made my heart flutter and if I wasn't so dignified I would probably have been drooling but of course...I would never do that! So anyway here I was chatting up a most wonderful goddess, she had brilliant wings and jewels around her neck that glistened like nothing I had ever seen before. She could bring tears to my eyes!

Well sadly whilst I was chatting her up and learned her name was Judgement, my little bit of sunshine named Maawio happened to come across us. Well let's just say she wasn't very happy and we fell out for a bit...but things worked out in the end and we made up after I explained myself.

Well anyway, that goddess I was telling you about! She just disapeared! Like magic! I swear if I meet her again I'm definately going to ask how she did that.

.:. The Fight which Caused Great Pain .:.

Well let me tell you, it's not all fun and games in the pride lands, especially on the outskirts where all sorts roam past. I never thought I'd meet such an annoying lion in my whole life, but it seems that this one who goes nameless iritates me more than I'd have ever imagined.

He's a coward and yet mouthy, he can deal it out but can't take it back. Well I showed him! At a huge loss however...

It started with me - minding my own buisness - happened to wander past him, we had met only briefly before and even then he had caused me much irritation. Well as I had predicted he began to call me all sorts of names and my temper...snapped.

The fight was reasonably brief and the injuries could have been much worse - despite the fact we are both still young. He tried to run away but I snatched at his hind legs. I didn't mean to hurt him, just wanted to scare him a bit, show him that he couldn't just insult any lion who crosses his path. Sadly though...my strike drew blood and he stumbled. Well here is where I made my mistake...I let my mind wander.

The next thing I know, a great paw is being swiped at me and the blood from a wound in my temple dribbles down into my eye.

To be honest I'm not sure how far we would have gone...if it wasn't for Bakhti then it could have been much worse and...well let's just not think about that.

However...Maawio happened across us whilst this was going on, she tried to help me but I wouldn't allow her. I pushed her and she feel, grazing those beautiful paws. I don't know if I will ever truly fogive myself for doing that to her, all I know is that for as long as I live I shall protect her.

Anyway the only reason I did that was because she is such a sensitive and kindly soul, her eyes cannot see such violence...and in the end my will to do good did opposite.

For a moment I just stayed where I was...and then when I went to apologise to her...she said those dreaded words.

She wasn't going to become a rogue...she was leaving me alone.

.:. Heartbreak and Apologies .:.

To leave or not to leave...that certainly was the question that terrible day.

For a long while I just lay where I had fallen, I could hear her leaving, the soft thud of her paws on the ground. She was crying and I think that this was probably the first time that I had cried too. I can't explain how terrible I felt, it was like my life had finally come to an end. I had lost a dear friend, one who I felt strongly for and all because of my own male pride and brutish behaviour.

My heart felt as if it had been torn in two and I think that if Bakhti hadn't been there I would have just laid there for a long time. Yet after the older female left I knew something had to be done. I didn't want to be alone...it scared me more than I will ever tell anyone and...after a long moment I got up and followed her.

I was in a state of disorinetation, even walking through the river and getting completely soaked - despite the face I'm terrified of water - it was like I was punishing myself for what I had done.

Then I found her...at first I thought she was happier without me, she seemed to be okay and I didn't want to upset her any more. I was about to turn away and leave when I noticed that she was still crying...I had caused her so much pain and that look on her face just didn't suit her. I wanted the old happy Maawio back. I had killed her innocence with my terrible behaviour.

I finally moved out and met up with her, and after a long explanation of why I had done what I did she accepted my apology.

Well after that we nuzzlde a bit and expressed our friendship with a great deal of purring and sweet words. I think it was then that I realised this was no simple crush. She made me feel so much more different than any other lioness had.

It was then that I made my vow to change my ways, and I tried to find everyone to apologise only to find that Suku said I had only done right by her...

Everyone was so understanding...I finally have friends in this world, ones I can look up to and depend upon, the greatest one being the golden femme who has wormed her way into my heart.

.:. Jungle Life .:.

Not long after making up I decided to go on alone for a bit, perhaps because I needed time to think or maybe I just needed a break from my busy life. I wandered for a little while and then to my amazement saw the most beautiful of all places on the world.

The jungle...it was so green, so warm - despite being rather wet - and it was filled with the most amazing views I had ever seen in my life. I spent a day or so alone here, enjoying the peace and listening to the sounds of the birds and other creatures as they sang from the treetops.

This didn't last long however before Bakhti appeared and decided that she loved this place as much as I did. We went hunting and caught a rather large pig and we feasted hungrily. Ah yes this is the life. For now I'm going to call this place home, but sometimes it can prove difficult to be in. Most prts of the jungle are thick with dense vegetation and I tend to stick to the clearings which open out near waterfalls and such.

I'm still rather young to hunt alone so I'm glad to have my sister for help, she is older and more skilled in hunting and navigating, although she seems to have more problems than me in moving around in the jungle.

However I'm going to say this, the jungle is only mt temporary home until I find the place I truly belong. It is nice but...it misses something...maybe other lions? Who knows, I just can't wait until I find my little place under the sun.

.:. Confessions of the Heart .:.

Well it happened.

I finally found the perfect girl for me! I had specifications written out and everything and I must say that Maawio fits into every single one of them. Ahem, let me read them out to you one at a time.

1. She must be beautiful!

well have you seen her? She is the most amazing gold colour, with small white markings on her ears, paws and around her eyes. Ah and her eyes! They are the most cerulean blue I have ever seen, one could quite easily get lost in them.

2. She must be kind

Sunshine (as I have nicknamed her) is one of the most kindest lionesses I have ever met. She is the only one to truly like me for who I am.

3. She must be brave

Maawio isn't the bravest of all, but I think she has an inner courage that would put most adults to shame. She doesn't really talk much about her past with her mother but I think she has been through a lot, and even though she wanted to leave she chose the strong option and stayed there.

4. She has to be able to put up with my flirtacious ways

Okay so this does upset her a little bit, but I'm slowly learning not to let myself get too carried away every time I see a female and even though I've done it whilst in her presence she has always learned to forgive me.

I can't believe how lucky I am!

Anyway she came to visit me at the jungle which was a wonderful surprise and we decided to take a little walk to go exploring and such. We found this amazing waterfall and she got me wet when she jumped in. She is crazy sometimes! So anyway we were sitting there talking and then I say it...

I love you Maawio!

And guess what! She said it back, oh this has to be the happiest day of my entire life and I'm never going to forget it.

We had to say goodbye shortly afterwards when she returned to her pride but I promised her I would visit often and there is no way I'm going to break it.

.:. Musing on Asikari .:.

This is one strange lion, I don't know his name as of yet and he is the only male I have fought with since leaving my own pride. If I could describe him in one word it would be: strange.

I just can't figure this guy out!

One moment he acts all tough and then the next he cowers away like a newborn cub. Why would he act so mouthy when he hasn't the brawn to back up his words?

Plus he never has any friends...I mean sure it is known for a rogue to travel alone but it's like he doesn't want any. Why would any lion wish to stay alone when there are so many others out there to be friends with? I don't know what I would do without mine.

Is it that he's just anti-social? Shy? Annoyed with the whole damn lion species? I don't know what it is but I hope he gets over it soon, being alone just can't be healthy.

I sort of regret fighting him now...but at the same time I can't seem to be able to apologise to one of such...strange behaviour. What would he do if I apologised to him? Simply shrug it off, laugh at me and try to get me to fight him again? Who knows!

Anyway when I see hom again I'm goign to try and talk to him, fight the urge to tease him and simply try to be serious. I don't know why I want to, but maybe it's because I hate to see others alone whether they are annoying, male or even both. Perhaps I will recieve complete forgiveness for trying to help the lion I fought and hurt in the process....

Whatever the reason I'm going to try and help.

.:. Big Blue and Graceful Green .:.

Well I never! Today just by chance as I was walking back from visiting with my beautiful Maawio I happened across the water hole and saw not one but two strangely coloured lions! One of emerald green - a lioness I might add - with brilliant eyes and a smooth coat. She had such delicate and wonderful features that I swear if she hadn't been older I would have been a little more forward with my flirting.

The other Lion however was a male of deep azure blue, the shade that you can see in the deeper parts of water. However I didn't think much to his chirpy ways, wanting to get on with everyone almost instantly. Those two odd balls are definately something to look at, and can't be missed in a place as bleak as this.

Well it wasn't long before a few more gathered around them, Bakhti, Sukutu and even the rude male. It wasn't long of course before he started annoying everyone and then Sukutu bathed him in the waterhole! I couldn't help but feel sorry for him, I swear if anyone tried to do that to me I would have been so mad! No one get's Amari wet and lives to tell the tale!

Well anyway after that I invited the green lioness to stay at the jungle with me and sis, not realising that she comes as a package deal. You want the green femme you also get big blue. So now they are staying at the jungle.

.:. Jungle Dwelling Leopards .:.

Leopards...psh, small felines that hold big threats. I don't like them one little bit, we didn't mean any harm, just searching for a retreat from the big intimidating world and even here in my haven they threaten and scare me.

They were young but they had the advantage of being up high in the trees and the female definately had a sharp tongue. Bakhti tried to put them in their place but to no avail.

My home...it has been ruined by those beastly, spotty felines so for now I'll continue my travels, maybe head out to the southlands and visit Maawio on my way, I miss her so much, even more so now that I feel as if I'm lost once more.

If those leopards try to stop me from going into the jungle again I swear they will regret it, they have no right to take away the little comfort I have found.

It is unclaimed territory, so as much as they might wish it was theirs they have no right to say that it is. The jungle should be a place for everyone to enjoy...but it seems as if the unspoken law has made the jungle the realm of leopards.

Bakhti seems to have disapeared so I'm alone once more in this scary place of leopards, but not for long. I'm off to the Southlands for a while to catch some rays. I have spent too long hidden beneath the canopy and enduring the wet humid feel of the forest.

.:. Where is Everybody? .:.

Okay this is very strange indeed.

I go to stretch my wings whilst my little wild dog friend sleeps in the shade and then when I get back. Bam! She's gone...I know this isn't exactly out of character for her, she's just brimming with energy and constantly hyper active but I don't like how quiet everything has gotten without her around.

I've searched the whole of the pridelands for her and seen many things with these sharp eyes of mine. Lions fighting, strange coloured ones sitting by the waterhole. Oh yes those creatures are very strange and I have learnt pleny about them over my search for Mataka.

My next stop is the jungle, it shouldn't take me too long to get there and I figure there must be plenty of places for a young pup to get into there. Plus it is filled with birds and berries and many beautiful things to keep me company whilst I search.

I just hope she hasn't gotten herself into any trouble, if she hasn't realised that apart from being small and too weak to drag her patchy self out of some hole, I also have beautiful feathers I have no intention of soiling with mud etc...

So until my search is over I am going to continue flying these lands and learning more things about the place.

This is Kucha signing out!

.:. Talking of cubs .:.

It's been a long time since I paused to think and now as I've reached adulthood many things have begun to settle within me. So much has happened already and it's going to be hard to relay and remember it to you.

My best friend Asikari has his own cubs now, and though I teased him a lot about it at first I think I'm actually a little jealous. The difference with him is that he found love in another rogue, they can travel together and be at peace. Unlike me who happened to fall for a strikingly beautiful pridelander.

I love her so much, with all my heart. That is why I have decided to ask permission to join the Pridelanders. I'm sure it will please my Sunshine to hear this, and then maybe we'll be able to start a family of our own.

Ever since I met the little cub Panya I have felt a sudden urge in me to become a real father, and though my first priorities lie with the rose-brown cubs happiness I can't help but want children of my own. A cub or two that I can love and care for. Maawio would make a wonderful mum I am sure.

Perhaps I'll tell her of my thoughts once we reach the pridelands.

---

I met Bala...the blue lion again just before meeting with Panya and I have to say that once again I made a complete fool out of myself. Why is it that when I set eyes on another male I get this feeling of uncontrollable anger swelling within me? Will it fade in time or will it just get worse? I dunno for sure but hopefully I won't have to consider it.

---

Apparently Bahkti found herself a mate, I have yet to discover who this is and congratulate them however, I wonder if they'll be blessed with a family soon. Then I'll be uncle Amari! Heh...well only time will tell.

Kimaria
The sun had risen and set many days since this one lioness had last seen her home, but even to this day she missed the feeling of sand beneath her paws and desert sun on her back. Her heart had long given up on a life amongst her brethren and yet in the past couple of days her ears had heard rumours...rumours that things were changing.

The lions of old were dead, the pride now left to youngsters...ones who would probably make a mess of things no doubt. Those who would once remember were long gone and that left her an opening. An opening to return. It was this slither of hope that carried her across the dusty plains and kept her walking despite all the hardship she had ensued.

Her one piercing gold eye settled on the horizon whilst her blind green eye stared at nothing. Her body told of her hardships, skin rough with scars beneath fur that had grown back to cover them. There was a tiredness in her movements but determination too and one that depicted her a lioness of strength.

She paused in step, sniffed casually at the air and found herself surprised to note that another was somewhere nearby. She drew herself up at a proud angle and canted her head, looking suddenly feminine. Not much could get past this wily old girl, for she had seen and experienced too much in her time. Nothing phased her and nothing shocked her, she flowed as easily as water in an unblocked river.

The feathers that sat neatly tucked behind her ears waved in the light breeze and her silver earrings glowed white-hot under the rays of the sun. Muscles rippled under a fine orange-red coat and after a moment she flexed her claws, cutting grooves into the dirt beneath them.

Andrani
Pacing, that was what the orange lion was doing. After his talk with Sarabi, his mind was wondering... Had his mother lied to him? But it was all there! Pride Rock, the Elephant Graveyard... Even the lion from his dreams was real, if dead! Green eyes turned up to the sky, wondering if some hidden star would guide him, settle his troubled mind. Stopping, he sighed, turning his face to the wind.

A scent was on what little wind blew. Blinking, he brushed his black mane from his face, trying to see who was there. It wasn't a familiar scent, and it smelled of long travels, yet of desert sands. In the distance, he spied a lioness, a bright red in color. Feathers adorned her and silver glimmered upon her ear(s?). Tilting his head, both of his ears flickered forward, wondering who it might be, where they'd blown in from.

Kimaria
Her nostrils writhed, filling with the scent of the stranger until she could not help but sneeze; the involountary spasm causing her to step forwards. Then with a shake of her head she rose up again, turning her face until she caught the male in her sights. He was a strange looking thing indeed, with an ebony mane and a pelt more orange than red.

She felt nothing however, no fear or excitement at meeting someone new, in fact it was all rather bothersome. Her pondering on the realm of sand had allowed her to be caught off guard, and where she usually slipped by without being noticed she was now out in the open making eye contact with some useless rogue.

The fur along her shoulders and neck bristled slightly and for a moment she wasn't quite sure what to do. So there she stood, as motionless as a statue, golden eye boring into him like a metallic spike.

Let him step forth to greet her if he felt brave enough.

Andrani
Danzi had never actually met any Firekin, persey, besides a brief look at Mwali. But Mwali wasn't like the other Firekin of his pride, so the orange male had no true interaction with the pride. Therefore, what was never encountered was never feared, as with animals never exposed to humans having no issues about being picked up off the ground by them.

It was because of this lack of knowledge and fear that the ebony-maned lion stepped forward, bowing his head in greeting. "Hello, what brings you to the general area of the Pridelands?"

Kimaria
Her whole body tensed at his greeting not in fear but in preparation to react. She did not trust rogues, especially not males...but hadn't he just said they were near the Pridelands? So perhaps he wasn't a rogue after all. This didn't help put her at ease though, any outsider was troublesome and untrustworthy in her eyes.

She was the superior here.

A growl waved from deep within her throat as she set herself firmly upon the ground, tail thrashing behind her like a wild flame.

"Long ago in a time when fools were plentiful stood a cub as bright as the sun." Her voice trickled through the air like a coil of smoke, placid and strangely calm. "He stood upon paws that flashed like the night and to the moon he sung. Bring me the ever lasting day so that all beneath shall thrive, and little cub was given his wish and to his doom did dive." She smirked, obviously finding something perversly humourous in what she was saying.

Andrani
White-filled ears flicked a bit as Danzi watched. Tilting his head, a slight frown started to form. Such an odd lioness... He stopped a few feet away, close enough to distinguish markings but not too close to encroach upon anyone's comfort zone. "I beg your pardon..?" What she said certainly confused him, that was for sure.

Kimaria
"Wood already touched by fire is not hard to set alight....you would do well to remember that." Her voice was perfectly lady-like as she stared at him with th faintest of smiles. There was something scary and rather intimidating about the way she held the expression...the way she leered at him.

Then suddenly she threw back her head and laughed, the sound shrill and unnatural in the air. "Come closer orange one, or do you fear the red temptress?" She swayed a step closer, seeming to have lost all hesitation. "Does she tempt you with her eyes? Does she warm you with her fiery pelt?"

Her tail jerked sideways and hung mid-air as she regarded him with cold eyes.

Then finally she seemed to regain some sort of sanity and raised her head at a proud angle. "Greetings, lion of the Pridelands."

Andrani
The Pridelander tilted his head, stepping closer. "Not afraid, just giving you your space. It's usually a wise move when meeting someone new outside a pride." He watched her a bit, head inclining slightly. "So... What's your name, lioness full of mysteries? I am Danzi..." He wanted to say son of this lion or that lion, but all he knew was his mother's name, so he said nothing more than his name.

Kimaria
"Names are nothing more than labels, not important...no, no, no." She grinned again, one full of teeth. "But wise, very wise you are." She flexed her claws, dragging them gently across the ground. "Don't want to get close to this femme, no you don't!" Her jaws clicked together sharply as she swing sideways, gazing at him with her golden eye.

"Feather-Claw is what you may call me." She rolled her shoulders and began to circle him as if trying to figure out his weakness. Stalking him like she would an antelope.

"Danzi...Danzi...Danzi...with fur as bright as the sun..." She chanted softly in time with her step.

`Zoe
The female was nearing adulthood now, she had recently given birth to six healthy pups, it was a miracle that all of them had survived. She loved the time she spent with them and enjoyed each minute. Currently she was sitting with two of the six pups, her orange and ivory son, Mtanizi, and her lovable chatty pup, whom she had nicknamed Bu.

Mtanizi currently lay inbetween her paws, tossing restlessly and pawing at his brother from a distance. "I wanna playyyy!" He whined, wiggling free of his mothers grasp. Mataka instantly sprang up. "Ooohh!" She giggled lightly, pawing at her son. "I'll play!" Anyone would mistake Mataka as an older sister. She was enthusiastic and who knew if she would ever grow up.

Kimaria
"And that's when Buzzy led me to a place that I'd never seen before. He was flying and zipping and darting about and I follow and chase. I did, I did! Then I was running and calling and the little Buzzy just kept out of reach and--" Uzushi'bueta paused to gaze at his brother who had chosen that time to interrupt his story telling, large ears twitching forwards to focus in upon him.

Play sounded like a lot of fun, and apparently mama thought the same.

He yipped, darting to his feet and spinning around as if chasing his own tail. "I play too, don't leave me out of the fun!" He had learnt to speak very well since his last meeting with Binifu, perhaps cos he practised so much.

"What we play? What we play? Let me join in, puh-leeeease!"

`Zoe
Mataka giggled at Bu, large blue eyes glancing about the den as she appeared to skip closer to the entrance. "Nooo, it's boring in here!" She concluded, dissapearing outside into the grass. A loud giggle was heard. "Think you can find me?"

Mtanizi pounced his brother eagerly, nipping gently at his ear, before dancing out to find his mother. His small body fell into the tall grass, beautiful eyes visable amoungst the masses of green. "Mommmyy??" He called, pouncing the grass in a wild attempt to find her.

Kimaria
"Wait for meeeee~" Came Bu's sing song voice as he darted outside of the den in order to join in with the game. His tail wagged madly as he dashed up to crouch beside his brother, sniffling noisily. "smell mama! but this place smell all of mama!" He whined, realising that noses weren't much use here, not until he had mastered it atleast.

"Muuuuummmmy! We coming to find youuuuu~! And with that said he started off through the dry grass that crackled at his sides. This was a fun game!

Kucha's bright orange form darted overhead as she skimmed the thermals in a whirling dance amongst the clouds. It was then that she saw the pups and the hiding mother waiting for them. It was good to be able to be so high and look down upon everything.

She chirped, skimmed low and over the heads of the pups, trilling noisily as she went in her way of a greeting.

`Zoe
Mtanizis clumsy paws led him in circles, until he fell upon the grass with a small thud. Scrambling about to pull himself up, he collided with his mother and fell onto her back. "Ooopsie, Sorry mommy!"

Mataka laughed, nearing Bu and giving him a sweet nuzzle, before picking Mtaniziz up and placing him upright again. Her large ears swivelled about as she recognised the chirping. She grinned as he suspicions were confirmed by a flash of orange, she rose onto her hind legs momentarily, "Kucha?!"

The young pup saw the avian breifly and jumped into the air. "BIRDY BIRDY!" He looked about wildly for the bird, who seemed to be moving very fast!

Kimaria
Little Bu nuzzled his mama back, burying his face behind one of her large ears when suddenly he too heard the strange chirping.

He whirled around, legs tangling beneath him as he struggled to main balanced as his eyes caught sight of the orange thing. It was a really, really huuuge Buzzy! But....it also looked very different.

"Wassat mama? Is eet a Buzzy? Did I tell you about the time I met one and when it led me to another big-earred doggy?" Seemed he had a memory problem too...

Kucha turned on a wing tip as she heard her pup daughter's voice callign her name, lithe body turning towards them once more. Then with a shrill cry she spread her pinions and skidded to a halt, pausing to ruffle her feathers and fluff herself up. She needed to preen!

"Hello there pupling...and smaller puplings!" She said with sparkling eyes.

So they'd been born! What did that make her then? A grandmother?! She wasn't sure whether she liked the sound of that.

`Zoe
Mataka felt her son nuzzle her ear and laughed. "That tickles!" She peered at Kucha with a smile. "No dear, that's not a buzzy, that's Kucha!" She paused. Bu did have the tendancy to talk a lot.. "Yes, I remember you telling me." She said softly, turning to look at Mtanizi, which was well timed.

Her playful son had been nearing the orange bird, a sweetly ambitious look on his face as he announced. "I'ma geddit!" His small legs propelled him foward and he clasped the bird gently "Gotcha!" He made sure not to hurt the avian, however. But he wanted to play!

"Mtanizi nooo!!" She ran to her son, who let go immediately. "What's wrong mommy? I just wanted to play with the Kuuucha." He looked to the bird sadly. "I'ma sorry birdy, I didn't mean to scare you!" His eyes filled with tears for a moment. "I'm so meannn.."

Mataka nuzzled her pup carefully, comforting him with her touch. "No you're not!" She protested. "I just don't want you to maul your erm.." She thought for a second. "Grandmother." Mtanizi looked a little confused. "Grandmother?!"

Bu's eyes sparked with great interest as he listened first to mother and then watched as his brother made advances towards it. Oh so this Kucha was going to play with them too? Fun! He yipped and would have followed after his brother if Mataka hadn't stopped Mtanizi.

"What's wrong mama, Kucha no want to play? We play nice mama, yes we will. Won't we Mtanizi!" He beamed happily, tail wagging. "You want to play too don't you Kucha?" Then the 'grandmother' comment made it's way into his brain.

"Wait, Kuch is your mama? this mean that when we get old we get feathers and fly about too?"

The orange avian however looked as if she was about to have a heart attack. Her small chest rose and fell with each breath and her eyes seemed wider than ever before. Her feathers were all ruffled up now and there would definaltely need to be some good preening done later.

"Well...they certainly do have a lot of energy." She said before gazing towards Bu, "hey, I'm not old little furball." She fluttered her wings and turned her head to gaze at Mataka. "And what's with the grandmother title?" She chirped in a bird-type laughter, she was more proud than anything else.

`Zoe
The confusion in Mtanizis eyes was dismissed as he ran towards Kucha happily. He gave her a light nuzzle. "Grandmuz Kucha!" He exclaimed, before turning to his brother. "You can play with meee!" He bounced closer, prodding his sibling on the nose. "Buuu!" He called, skittering away energetically.

Mataka was still laughing, her eyes glittered happily. She loved family life, and her mate and sons were now her number one priority. She lowered herself, watching her pups, then turning her beautiful orbs to Kucha. "Sorry about that. " She pawed at the bird lovingly. "You're my best friend, and like a smaller more orange mother to me!" She explained, grinning. "How've you been?" She cocked her head.

Kimaria
"Wheee!" The pup gave chase, dashing madly after his brother with maw parted and tongue lolling. It was only when his legs grew tangled beneath him that he realised perhaps he shouldn't have tried running so fast. In a second he was being tipped head over heels, skidding to a halt upside down on the dirt.

He looked rather shocked to say the least and he shook his head as he tried to righten himself, "what happened there?!" He questioned more to himself than anyone else.

Kucha was touched by Mataka's words and chirped contentedly, ducking her head to preen at her feathers. She felt so happy and yet so sad at the same time, for today was the day she would be heading out into the world again.

"Don't worry about it. You must be very proud of them, are there just the two of them?" She chittered, "I've been very well!"

`Zoe
Mtanizi ran happily amoungst the grass, he was almost as clumsy as his brother, trying desperately to avoid being thrown onto the floor. Turning around to watch his chasing sibling he saw him fall and bounded to his side. "Are you okay?" He asked with wide eyes, pawing at him.

Mataka watched the little bird happily, her gaze shifting to her pups every so often. She thought back to Dhati, and her stomach was instantly plagued with butterflies. He would hopefully be having fun with the other four.

She shook her head at the avians question. "Actually there's six!"

Kimaria
"Everything seems to be in the right place!" Uzushi said, shaking his lanky form and giving his brother a sheepish grin. Then taking advantage of the situation he pounced towarsd him. "Gonna getcha!" He squeaked as he outstretched his paws to try and tumble the other over and across the grass.

The avian tried to hide the surprise and failed, her eyes widening even more than they had only a moment before. "SIX!" She squawked, flapping her wings wildly before settling ocne more. "That certainly is a wing-full! Though I'm sure you'll do fine!"

She cleared her throat then, "well...I actually came to find you for a reason..." She trailed off...unsure how to continue.

`Zoe
The orange and ivory pup looked relieved and gave a loud laugh, before squeaking and trying to run away. His legs however werent moving as fast as he liked, so instead scrabbled against the ground, picking up a decent amount of grass. "Eeee!" He bounced about before gaining speed and shooting off in another direction. "Heehee! Ya can't get meh!"

Matakas kind gaze tried to ease the easily shocked bird, but she looked a little uneasy. "Yeah, But I enjoy time with all of them!" She said, nodding enthusiastically. A look of concern replaced the enthusiasm and she frowned. "Is everything ok, Kucha?"

Kimaria
The little pup gave a squeak of surprise as his brother managed to escape and with a yowling challenge gave chase once more, keeping to a pace that his legs could manage easier. "Oh ho ho! Just wait and see! I'll getcha!"

Kucha's eyes sparkled as she settled herself more comfortably on the ground, ehr rather scruffy appearance making her look rather strange. She was a rather vain bird and loved to keep herself looking spotless and perfect. "Of course! It must be wonderful to have children!" There was a yearning look in her eyes then, a secret wish that had yet to be granted hidden inside her.

"Everything is fine, yes...but I...well..." She trailed off again, fluffed herself up and raised her head to make eye contact with the wild dog. "I will be leaving again shortly, I wish to travel the world again, perhaps meet some of my own kind that dwell in the jungles."

`Zoe
Laughing and running wildly, the small pup ran in circles to try and confuse his brother, however he only suceeded in confusing himself and stopped, dizzy. "Ooh..." He swayed on the spot, shaking his head and blinking heavily. "Ooopsie." He was close to his brother now. Had he lost the game?

Mataka frowned again, lightly. She saw the look in the birds eyes and smiled sweetly. "I hope you find you companions." Tilting her head she cleared her throat. "Are you sure that's the only thing bothering you, Kucha?"

Kimaria
Taking this opporunity the pup sprang towards his brother, he was thoroughly enjoying this game! He hadn't played like this for a long time and it felt good to release some energy. Atleast his poor mother would get a rest from his neverending chatter if he got tired.

"Here I come~!" He squeaked happily, bounding towards him once more and throwing his weight forwards in order to land on his brother, if he didn't move that was.

She would ave smiled if her beak had allowed it but sadly it would not. The only way anyone could tell her emotions were through her large, beady eyes. "Thank you Mataka." She fluttered her wings once more and tilted her head slightly, "I just wish that I could raise a family of my own too, you know? I sit here and look at you my daughter and feel so proud that you have lived such a happy and wonderful life. I want to have that too. I want to find a mate, build a nest, keep eggs warm and then feed my hatchlings and raise them. It has been a dream of mine since my own mother left me to fly alone."

`Zoe
Mtanizi squealed louder, his small tail wagging happily as he tried to skip away, but again his clumsy movements lef him to fall over, sliding across the ground as he felt the grasp of his brother. "Nooo!" He squeaked, laughing madly. "S'not fair!" He allowed a free paw to bat at his brother nose sweetly. "Gitoff?" He asked, wriggling.

The adolescent looked to the avian sadly. She spoke such kind and sweet words, but Mataka wanted her to have these things too. "Yes, I understand." For once her voice was soft and quiet, a complete contrast to her usually squeaking and loud voice. "I hope one day you find what you are looking for." She hoped the little bird would stay in touch, however. "Make sure to visit me when you can!"

Kimaria
"Ah ha! No way buddy!" He squeaked cheerfully, batting at the pup's nose with one of his own paws as he tried to dodge his. "Take that!" He squeaked, pawing weakly at his brother.

She nodded, "oh yes, this isn't a goodbye that will last forever, in fact I intend to visit often! Gotta keep an eye on you. And thankyou, I really hope that somewhere out there I'll find a life long companion as you have."

Felinxis
A small brown Meerkat was scaling the border of the Pridelands, looking for a nice place for his colony to move to. His old home had become over run with wild dogs ad they just couldn't co-operate. Since no one esle seemed to have found a suitable new home, he took it upon himself to find just the right place.

he rose back on his legs as he scanned the scene around him. The rising sun was casting a golden yellow across the grasslands, making everything look pristine and pure. The antelope were grazing in the dew covered grass and the birds were taking flight into the morning sky.

The male meerkat lay himself atop a small rock, taking in the vew for himself.

Hakan was sulking, muzzle cradled in his forepaws and blue eyes staring idly out at the tall pinnacle of pride rock. Peh...he hated pridelanders, he was proud to be a rogue and that was that.

He let out a grunt of displeasure, nose wrinkling upwards as he snorted the dust from his nostrils and shifted his weight. Grass crackeld around him and for a moment his position was given away. He didn't mind though, mama was close by and so were his siblings, he only needed to call out and they'd come running.

He was safe.

But...he was also bored.

He grunted again and got to his paws, shaking the dust from his body as he turned his head around to try and look for something more interesting than blades of grass. It didn't take him long to locate it, for there upon a rock was a strange little creature indeed. What it was Hakan did not know but he was a curious cat and it was with this that he approached, moving as stealthily as his clumsy cubbish paws would allow.

Felinxis
The Meerkat (who shall remain nameless xD; ) was beinning to get the idea that this could indead be the best place for his colony to move to. That is until he heard the faintest movements of a lion.

This meerkat was not a clumsey one, and he had been one of the groups guards for many years and his hearing was acute. He did, however, notice that this lion was only a cub, and he wasn't as scared as he would have been if the lion was fully grown. The meerkat was still trembling. Only slightly.

He lept to his hindlegs and sent his back as straight as it could, almost perpendicular to the rock he was staning on. He needed a better view of his adversary.

Spotted.

Hakan snorted again and pawed at the ground almost as if he was a bull preparing to charge. He had a rather hot temper for a cub and it would probably only get worse as he grew older, yet it was his love for his family that made him so.

He had to be strong to protect them.

This thing however was of no danger to him or his family and so for now his anger remained tamed, his tail swishing behind him as he continued onwards.

"Hoy there!" He barked out the words, "what are yoo doin' here little meat?" He gathered by the sheer small size of the thing that it could be considered prey to his own kind, it seemed to be a fast mover however, much faster than he was.

Felinxis
With twitching ears and shaking paws, the meerkat listened to the black lions demands, deterrmind to show that he was not scared, despite the fact he felt as if his heart beat was twice as it normally was.

"I am here, simply on a scouting trip for myself and the rest of my colony. As you can see you are probably one hundred times my size." The meerkat liked to exaggerate. "So I believe we shouldn't be a problem for yourself or your family, so you may return to them."

Even though the meerkat was trying to reason with the young lion, he was tightening his muscles in his legs, ready to run if need be.
