.:My one, my only, my lovE:.

the beginning

Madeline
29/06

A letter to my dearest friend, my mind, my sanity...my journal if you will. I hope I find you in good health. Ah, dear, dear, Anthony, how I have missed you so. Things here are fine. I only hope I can say the same for you. Every night I pray for you.

Anthony, you would never believe it, I am a teacher now. I have found work with an amazing company, D-corp, they are a truly remarkable entrepreneurship. I'm afraid I can not tell you the details of the company or my job, but, not to worry Anthony, I have found happiness. That is all that should truly matter.

Anthony, do you remember, at the University, when we were dating, how I told you I should some day like to be a mother? Of coarse you do, you and I could never forget even if we should like. It's a miracle Anthony, something truly astonishing has happened, I am a mother. Even if the child is not my own, I am truly elated. Anthony, you of all people know how terribly my heart has yearned for this day.

The small child is a boy, a beautiful young boy. After much deliberation, Anthony I have chosen to name him Keivlos. I beg of you not to trouble yourself too much over its origins, (though I do believe it is Russian) it is simply a name that seemed to agree with my tongue at the time. However, it is such a fitting name for him Anthony, odd and obscure...yet I feel about the edges is an almost delicate and refined quality.

I am afraid I am not at liberty to describe him in full detail to you, but he is truly extraordinary. Anthony, is it possible for you to comprehend the creations which modern science is able to bring us? Can you imagine a child with wings? Forgive me my sweet if the idea is beyond the reaches of your imagination. I do not ask it to anger you, nor to tease the caged imagination which lies trapped beneath your genius.

Should I continue? Even now, as I write, my hand shakes against the paper. I am being terribly silly about this whole letter, aren't I? Yet, I can not help it Anthony. Keivlos is a work of sheer scientific ingenuity and human dedication. However, perhaps I should not speak of my son so. After all, he is my child, my one and now only, love of my life. (But never to worry Anthony, you shall forever be in my heart.)

Children are extraordinary creatures Anthony. Even though it perhaps be unwise to call them creatures, it is the only way I can describe them and the irrationality of their behavior. I knew children to be peculiar, yet, I never imagined them how peculiar to be. Perhaps it is simply Keivlos whom causes me to think these creatures peculiar, for he exemplifies the behavior almost to a point of exaggeration.

Like pieces of a puzzle Anthony, each child is unique and different. Each has their own shape and qualities which paint a picture of whom they are as an individual. Some pieces are shaped more obscure than others. I find Keivlos to be alike to said piece. For you see Anthony, even though he is part of the puzzle no matter how I look at him, he does not fit.

In contrast to his brother, a spitting image of him, yes, twins, Keivlos could be no more different from his kin than black is to white. He is a quite child...yet often loud. A queer child...yet often is loved. He is a riddle...yet it is easy to know what he wants. Oh dear, I'm sorry if I have confused you with my contradicting statements. This is the only way I can describe Keivlos though, for he is a walking contradiction.

My wonderful, wonderful Anthony I'm afraid I must end the letter here. My duties as mother are not difficult, yet, they are demanding. It is now dinner time and my healthy boy is hungry. I have yet to figure out what pleases his slim figure. It worries me so, a child should not be so picky as he is.

I await your reply Anthony. I truly miss you and the family. Please, write back soon. I am egger to hear from you and regale you with many new tails of my life as well.

nacktime Anyone? (MSN PD With Revon & Keivlos)

Quote:
Ah, another bright and sunny afternoon, the Raven lazily opened one eye as a beam of sun hit him directly in the forehead. A hiss, and then he slunk away to a new area of the house. He hated the sun. No, he wasn't a creature whom was nocturnal, there was no real reason for him to hate the sun, yet, he did. The fact that it was the middle of summer and he was a black bird really didn't help. Feathers were horribly itchy when you were sweaty and sticky. Keivlos had abandon his overly large sweater and cream pants a week ago. The heathen child had now taken to running around the house in his boxer, (really a pair of pants he had ripped to shreds).

In an attempt to escape the heat and the light Keivlos wandered over to the opposite side of his complex, a side which contained a door, a very special door, for you see, Keivlos didn't know where it led....but it was special. Usually there was some sort of spell on this thing, something which forbade him to open it no matter how long or hard he screamed and scratched. But for today when he reached out his hand and gave this round thing on this square thing a tug...The raven's eyes glistened as he stepped into a new dimention.

The shiny red thing wasn't at home. Keivlos knew this well enough. Neither was golden blonde thing, "mother" as she had so instructed him to call her. It was...a perfect opportunity to explore the house. So many squares, so many squares to go behind. Frantically the raven ran through the halls of Mister Mitsu's abode. SLAM! CREAK! SLAM! The sound echoed throught the small area until behind one square stood a familiar looking refecltion.

"REVIE!" Screamed Keivlos, jumping upon his brother. ....Locked up. All locked up. Why was his brother all locked up?

Quote:
The boy tended to be rather quiet, quiet and alone. But he prefered that. This new person... could he really trust the new person? The man had said he was Haruki, Ha was the dub he'd been given. The bird didn't have any real reason to dislike him... still he didn't know him. He hadn't seen his brother either. They'd taken Keivlos another way before, a mirror image of himself. He hadn't been able to find him since. No matter how much he searched around the room of the house, he never did find the other black skinned boy. He'd tried to ask Haruki about it, but the man simply stared at him flatly as he stammered, the look was almost as if he was annoyed. Angry? The young raven wasn't sure, however it troubled him to think of being hated, dislike... He still wasn't good enough.

Was that why they took his brother away to another place? Because he wasn't good enough to be with him? The boy let out a minor whimper tugging the cloth up over his face with his hands before slumping further into the collar. No, that couldn't be it, was it? He shook his head as if the block out the thought. Just forget it, forget about that bad, bad idea... Haruki had never yelled at him, he never said he hated him... right? His wings fluffed up slightly as he blinked trying to reassure himself. Although it wasn't working well.

Yes, Haruki had given him the room, but he always told him to go there and be quiet. He also said that unlike the tech's might have said, to tried to tell him, that he wasn't his father. He'd repeated it a few times as if the boy wouldn't understand then gone back to reading. It was obvious wasn't it, even if he tried to deny it. Haruki didn't like him, did he?

The boy sighed slumping down onto the bed. He'd failed, he was a failure. A useless mess that everyone would hate, that was it. He should just hide in here forever, that was how it would be. No one would find him here.

Or would they? The loud closing of a door caught the bird's attention. Haruki never slammed doors, never ever. Someone else was here. The boy sat imobile on the as another loud sound echoed in the hall, closer this time. Then his own door was the subject and he watched in silence as the knob shifted slightly, then quickly. Then it opened.

However who was on the other side wasn't what he'd expected at all. It took only a brief moment before the other figure leapt at him while yelling his name loudly. "L-lo..?"

Quote:
Teeth barred and Keivlos opened his mouth and tugged into one of the wings on the side of Revon's head, with much gentel gusto. Keivlos may not have seemed affectionate towards his brother, in fact sometimes it seemed as if Revon were only some sort of toy for his selfish amusment, however, the older boy truly did adore his brother. As is the case with many twins, they may have been the opposite of each other, but you can't have one with out the other. Should anything happen to Revon, well then ....it can't be sure what would happen to the boy, but he definatly would not be the same.

More suckling, gnashing and gnawing on Revie proved to Keivlos that this was indeed his brother (not that he really doubted it) it was Revie. The older bird sighed and frowned at his brother. "WHY...You locked up!" Shouted Keivlos. He meant it as a question but it came out more of a command or comment than anyhthing. Really, the raven was curious. His brother, unlike him was not one to like such a room as this...Revie must have been being punished for something, punishment was never good either. When Madeline threatened Keivlo's she always used sleep...Keivlo's hated that. So hate meant punishment.

"..." the raven smirked. "Revie has been bad birdy." The eldest said, his eyes shining with mischife. He knew his brother would not like this, however it would pay into Keivlo's wish. A wish which ended with a full and happy stomach...a full stomach of food from Mister Mitsu's kitchen. No good eats behind his side of the square.

Keivlos's stomach growled and he tugged at Revie. "Revie allready bad, help Keivlos find food...be not bad."

Quote:
Yes, indeed it was his brother. Even after the test of chewing which the boy willingly sat through. He simply blinked curiously as his brother finally finished tugging at his feathers rather painfully. Still even through the wincing he never made a sound, simply waiting until his brother curiosity over the identiy of the boy was satisfied, and infact he found that it was Revon.

"L-lock u-up?" He almost mumbled quietly tilting his head slightly. Obviously it was right, his brother had saidit. "H-ha not ho-home... h-he lock d-door?" He said quietly, still questioning it. Certainly he had reason to if Keivlos was here. Though he clearly remembered the red-head locking the door as he left, so how..? From the door that never opened, that one in the living room? He frowned momentarily before shaking his head and managing a weak smile. "H-ha say do-or should b-be l-lock." He finally stated tugging slightly at the cross he still wore around his neck.

Revon hasn't expected what came next, however it did bring the response the other raven wanted. The boy's face fell quickly at the mention of bad and he seemed to shrink back again from any happiness he'd shown momentarily. "N-no... not... n-not b-b-" He swallowed trying the word again. "bad." He shook his head a few times before stopping. No, if Keivlos said it, it was true. However, the next comment deemed that he could save himself from such a name. "F-food?" He nodded slightly shifting to move toward where the kitchen was. Althought he paused briefly at the door to wait for his brother and let him take charge, merely pointing toward where the kitchen was.

Quote:
Uncaringly Keivlo's lifted a hand and began to scratch at his head, working his way around the scalp and then down the back of his neck. Mumble, mumble...mash mush! Revie wasn't speaking again. Noise, it was simply noises that flowed from his lips. How cold Keivlo's understand anything his brother said if he actually wasn't talking? The young one stuck a finger in his ear, picking at imaginary wax wedged behind the right opening.

Goobely mush, mush the raven didn't know how much longer he could take listening to this soft, what to him sounded like, a whimpering noise. "SHUT! Nosie hurts Kevie's ears!" The raven suddenly screamed, as his hands reached foreward and he grabbed revie by the collar of his large shirt, tugging him off the bed. Down, the hall trecked Keivlo's now with Revie in hand. "SPEAK RI!" he shouted again, not understanding that how Revon was speaking was actually normal compared to his ideals.

"You hush when raw in mouth." Said Keivlo's impatently as he wandered about, slowly too, for the weight of another child was hard for him to carry. Eventually the bird came to what he had been looking for. A rectangular beaming white object infront of his gaze. Keivlos didn't know what it was, but inside he knew lay the goodies to feed and silence his growling tummy. With a thunk, Keivlo's dropped Revie to the ground where he lay. "Louddz! Shhh..." tried to coo to his stomach. Looking back at Reivie Keivlos added, "...if you is not careful. It eat you....see is angery." He pointed to his tummy which let out a growl. THUNK! ....Owch. There went his hand fisting himself in the stomach. Goo dthing he was little and it probably wouldn't hurt much.

Quote:
He expected a lot of odd things from his brother, however the sudden screaming at him to be silent managed to catch him off guard. Still opened mouthed as he was literally drug out of the room then hefted down the hall until they managed to reach the kitchen he found himself unceremoniously dumped onto the floor. Which was rather clean, so it didn't matter to much save for the possibly minor bruises in the future. Still the boy could only stare in awe as the other child babbled nonsense, however to him it was the bible. Stomach eating him? It was quite possible, isn't that where food went?

He was left slightly uncomfortable at the idea and shifted under his brothers gaze uneasily. His brother hadn't yet redeemed him as good so he was on thin ice, now for being locked up and the making bad noise that hurt his ears. He was a very, very bad bird. He glanced down at the floor a moment before pushing himself up to his feeting and moving to open the fridges door for his brother. "H-ha say-" He stopped, not speaking further. He made bad noises, that was right.

However within the fridge was what was to become the evenings meal. Vegetables, some noodles to stir fry, and some steak to be cut up and cooked with it. All ready for when the man got home from dealing with work later. Which of course meant it was for Keivlos now, if he wanted it that was. Not that there was much of a selection, Haruki tended to buy food on a day to day, or every other day schedule. He didn't keep too much stocked up.

Quote:
The older one coughed choked and sputtered as the fist impacted, but other than that not much happend. Thlunk, went his body against the fridge as the boy threw himself over the immensly large object. What ever noises Revie was making didn't matter to Keivlos. Even if the boy thought his brother had something important to say he wouldn't have listened anyway. With twisted fingers, Keivlos reached his hand around the cold metallic handels and pryed is wriggled his way till the door was open.

Cheek pressed up against the cold ok door, one gray eye slowly peered in as the light barely flickered on. Inside his head, Keivlos could hear his heart rappidly thump and skip a beat. That green stuff...well it was no good Keivlos felt sick to his tummy when he sampled it. Actually, he was never one to get sick, he just found them horrible tasting. Next to the green a pile of some obsqure object and....A quick inhaled gasp, what was that devine smell? "Reeeeed" whimpered the raven as he flung open the door and grabed the slab of bloody raw meat sitting on the fridge self.

Ever so carefully Keivlos began to withdraw his treasure from its chilld pedastool. Here and there a drop of the thick red liquid splashed...but that didn't matter for soon Keivlos would be lapping it up. But first...A red eye flickered and turned upon Revie. Brother needed sustanence. One step...two...click, clack, shuffle Keivlos soon stood over Revie. "It will eat."

He said fatly as he leaned down next to his brother. "Be good...say AhhhhhhhhHHHHHiiiie~" It was meant to start out as, "Ahh," but turned more into a personal battle cry as Keivlos pried his brothers mouth open with one finger and shoved one fat bit of bloody raw stake in it.

Quote:
His brother seemed quite pleased with the fridge, well once he recovered from hitting himself first. The boy waited patiently before his brother took over pulling the thing wide open to reveal the somewhat meager contents. Not that Revon could complain, he was fed rather tastey meals each day that were freshly prepared with these ingredients. Everything was always fresh, though he did tend to like eating the meat more. The idea of eating plants made him think of killing pretty flowers. Something he couldn't become comfortable with.

So instead the boy waited in silence as his brother dug out what pleased him so, the package wrapped neatly in paper. Which meant it was meat, well Revon prefered that as a snack anyway. As the boy opened the paper package it dripped some chilled blood onto the floor which Haruki would be cleaning up later. However, for now the other raven toddled up to him and quickly pressed on his mouth until he opened it and shoved the meat in. Revon would have gladly obliged had he been given time to, but his brothers eagerness ended with his jaw being slightly wretched as the chunk was pushed in.

The first thing that came to the somewhat bewildered boy's mind was that it didn't taste the same. That, and that it wasn't as good cold. He liked it warmer, or maybe even room temperature. Still, the flavour wasn't bad, and it was a new texture. Revon was becoming used to the new textures due to the various meals Haruki cooked, and so this was nothing new. So he simply chewed and tried to keep from having blood dribble out of his mouth because the chunk was too big. Another of those things Haruki had been making sure he didn't do.

Quote:
The once apprehensive boy now began to relax as the expression on his brother's face changed from worried, to unsure, to comfortable. Ah yes...that was right, chomp, chomp tear off the raw, suck chew and eat all these words that Madeline had taught him, that he dare not speak in public echoed only through his mind. She was so tired of him using the same wored for "eat" that she had forced him to speak a new one at dinner every night. Not that he had spoken, but he did remember them...all of them.

A few minutes of nibbling at the rough and uncooked meat and Keivlo's pulled it away from his brother. Now it was his turn to feed. That thing living inside of him wasn't happy with how it was being treated and it demanded something to make it quiet. To make it go away. To make it dissapear.

A nasty sound of ripping tendons and squishing fliuds filled the air as Keivlos ripped a large chunck apart from the original piece of the puzzle. Half gurgle half swallow...it was a noise which filled the room as he ate his fill. If anyone had been curious as to why he was chowing down on read meat like their was no tomarrow...after all how would he get the idea to try something most others believed to be so despicible, his like had been discovered by smell. This stuff smelled devine. Not to mention he had tried little things before. A taste of a mouse here....birdy leg there...bugs....life...he liked it, and he liked it decaying and rotting, smelled wonderful and was easy to chew. Except bones, he didn't like those....

"Keivlos!" Came a voice from behind, as he turned to see Madeline facing him. The boy simply stared a roll of red dribbling down his chin. More than anything the blonde thought her son and his brother had hurt themselves. However, Keivlos took it as a sign of something different. He fled, faster than a jack rabit in july to await a time when it was safe to return.

The woman stared blankly. So...things were ok. Looking down at the only one left infront of her she sighed. Oh dear...Mister Mitsu would not be happy.

Quote:
The boy had only a few moments to get the bite before his sibling tore the meat away and began gnawing on it himself. Which was fun, Revon hadn't been too hungry anyway, Haruki had cooked a decently sized breakfast as was habit. So as the other child began gnawing away at the thing hungrily like a wild beast, Revon enjoyed chewing up the rest of his bite properly before swallowing. However no sooner had he finished that action hefore he heard his siblings voice called out loudly from an unfamiliar tone. The boy quickly glanced over his shoulder at the woman standing in the door as he hunched up to hide in the shirt's collar. This action of course staining part of the cloth with the blood still showing on his own chin.

However, he soon got to watch as he brother upon seeing said woman darted away as quickly as possible, or even faster perhaps. Revon certainly hadn't known his brother was so fast. Still with him went the woman, with her went the sound of the door closing. So his brother was behind that door?

Revon didn't have much of a chance to ponder of this before the sound of another door opening and footsteps, familiar even steps that he knew y memory already, sounded in the hall. Then a silence, then a voice that was obviously trying to remain as calm as possible. "Revon... what have you been doing?" One that seemed to be coming from clenched teeth. Even without looking back in the direction of the man he knew that Haruki was about ready to snap out an order, or two. Haruki didn't like messes, and it was easy to see that there was blood all over the kitchen floor and dribbling down the way that Keivlos ran, as well as the kitchen door open. Wrappings thrown to the side, and part of dinner ruined. Not to mention bloodstains on his own shirt. This wasn't how you greeted a neat freakw when they got home.

"U-uh.. H-h-a..." The boy stammered, barely managing the few words before the man simply pointed in the direction of the bathroom. Revon needed no second action to go scampering as he was directed. Bath time it most certainly was.

After the boy had dissapeared into the other room the man sighed, rubbing his temples. "Uhg... I really hope he didn't actually eat that stuff, but it is all gone." He mumbled to himself shaking his head lightly. "Well better clean this up before I end up taking him to the hospital for food poisoning." He added heading to get a towel. However, he never did need to take Revon to the hospital that night. Be that a good... or slightly frightening thing.

.:The murder of the Alphabet:.

ABC's Keivlos Style

"Please Keivlos..." Madeline was almost begging as she once more shoved the blank coloring sheets at the raven. To this the young thing replied by flapping its wings and shrieking with delight. Oh, oh...how delicious! Golden blonde thing was upset. It was easy for the child to see that his mother was not happy with his behavior. Madeline had wanted Keivlos to work on his numbers and letters, yet, with a child like Keivlos, the task seemed hopeless. Had the raven been a little older he would have been able to categorize her emotion as frustration. For now though, 'upset' was the best any adjective could do.

Picking up a crayon Madeline began to color the letter 'A'. Short, small, neat and precise strokes filled the white between the black lines. "This, Keivlos, is the letter 'A'. Repeat after me now 'a'." The boy, who had now taken to sitting in his chair with knees pulled up to his chin, gave Madeline a curious look.

"A," the blonde repeated hopefully. Perhaps this time it would work? He hadn't thrown the paper off the table yet. She smiled, rooting for the badly needed break through "A--come on now,...I know you can speak." Her voice was so warm and coated with sugar that even the most feral of creatures may have been persuaded to listen.

"AIEeeeehHEEEEHehehhehe!" Keivlos was suddenly upon the table, crouching like a cat and ready to pounce. The blonde D-corp teacher now found herself back several feet from that crazy creature atop the wooden structuree. "Eeeeiiieee..." A large and rather quite disturbing smile played across the child’s face. She was...she was, "afraiiiiid," he chuckled under his breath. Mother, was afraid of him.

Afraid? She most certainly was! He had given her quite the fright a moment ago. Like any normal parent though, her ego got in the way and she daintily dragged herself back to the table. "No, Keivlos." her voice was stern and cold. She was determined not to let him get the better of her.

The raven once ecstatic, now grew upset. He glowered as his mother, as he slunk back into his chair, shoulders hunched over beneath his wings. Madeline picked up the crayon. "Again Keivlos...'A'," her right hand fell down another stroke of green adding color to the letter. Gently the blonde reached out and placed the crayon into the palm of her child's hand. "You try it now."

Warily the child took the object and with even more caution reached for the paper. --"A!" He blurted out, stabbing the coloring utensil down with out looking. The end of the crayon shattered against the table, missing its target of paper by several inches. Panting the raven let his hand drop the odd and much disliked object. Hissing he retreated back off the chair and into the family room.

...Madeline stared blankly at the mess which her son had created. With a weary sigh she began to chip away at wax, now melded onto the table. When she had thought of razing children, this was not what had come to mind. A sweet, cute, respectable child, that was an image she much preferred to her strange, eccentric and venomous son.

One by one her lovely moisturized hands began to pick up the crayons. She made sure that each and every color was properly placed into the space specifically provided for it. Minutes rolled by as she cleaned up the dining room table. Oh well, best the stop for now. Mister Mitsu would be back soon with Revon, then it would be time for dinner. The teacher was reaching for a cinnamon crayon, her mind wandering toward the evening meal, until it was promptly snatched out of her hands.

It took a moment for Madeline to realize whom the culprit was. One red and one gray eye stared at her from across the table; Nose just barely visible over the edge of the cherry wood. "Keivlos..." she said warily. Perhaps her tone would have been more welcoming, had the child not moments ago been destroying the fine furniture with the same object he now held in his hand.

"Red, red..." came a hushed and hoarse whisper. "...Cinnamon." Corrected the teacher, ever ready to improve that developing vocabulary of his. "The color is cinnamon."

"RED!" Snapped the raven back. "Red, red, red, red!" Came an ever growing chant, as Keivlos reached across the table pulling the white paper towards himself. Once pristine and pure, the worksheets which Madeline had laid out now became marred and crossed with red lines and slashes. An 'X' here, a line there...a blotch of red across the 'I', why suddenly the whole table had become a murder scene of letters and numbers.

With a terrified shriek Madeline pulled the precious documents away. "No, Keivlos, no! These are for learning! If you want to color with the cinnamon, you have to learn the letters." More than anything, Madeline's upset came from the fact that she had not bothered to make copies of these worksheets which Keivlos had now destroyed. This meant she would have to go see Kat again. The walk wasn't bad, but...she simply couldn't be bothered to fetch more copies until next week. Another whole week of learning lost. "Heavens..." Muttered the drained woman.

Keivlos stared at her, the crayon still raised in hand where it had been when Mother pulled away the pieces of paper. "A," He finally spoke, with an ever so faint smile adorning the corners of his lips. Madeline froze, "Come again?" She looked across the table to her son, whose body remained still, yet face continued to shape into a grin.

He looked at her and, with a slow part of lips, mouthed the letter again. "A..."

A child is expected to know certian things at certian ages.
In order to obtain rights to their Dragon(egg), they must prove they can meet these requirements.

The following sheet is for your child to fill out, with mild help from their guardian, then sent back to D-corp. (PM ot the mule)

Also any changes, even minor such as haircuts, should be reported to the D-corp to be logged and filed.

Thankyou,
The Boss.

It was a warm sunny morning in August and Madeline had just put the finishing touches on an Envelope labeled "To: D-corp"

Madeline

Dear D-crop,

Below is the sheet that Keivlos was requested to fill out. I beg pardon if you can not read it. The child does know his Abc's and how to count to ten. It is simply a matter of holding his attention long enough to get him to do so; it only takes the slightest noise to disturb and send him off edge.

He is a most peculiar child, I'm slightly worried about him. Odd habits that usually die with younger children have persisted in him. Unable to (what I believe is) express himself he resorts to spitting, biting and hair pulling. These are behaviors which he does with others but also himself. I believe perhaps an appointment with Kat or Hennet is in order if things do not change.

Then again he is young. I wouldn't be so concerned were it not for the fact that compared to his twin brother, Keivlos is absolutely feral. Revon, the younger of the two, is as sweet as sugar, nothing wrong there. Is it natural for twins to be so contrasting?

Even in their manner of clothing and hair they seem to be complete opposites. Keivlos (refusing scissors or any sort of grooming) has grown his hair out, it also seems to be changing color about the edges, as if white were just a color for when they are younger. Revon (though he has died his) keeps it short and clean. Whilst Revon's clothes are sparkling and new, Keivlos rips every pair of shirt and pants I have given him.

I suppose it is normal for siblings to differ. I do have to say, I would be a bit more worried if they were exactly like each other. That can't be too healthy either.

Sincerely,

Madeline Crossette

Ps. I'm keeping watch on Keivlo's eye sight. I have a feeling that he is becoming increasingly blind in his left eye.

There she was? (AIM PD With Emi & Keivlos)

Keivlos
All day Keivlos had been irritating Madeline, she could barely stand it. Why, why did she have to be stuck with this accursed devil child when his brother should be so....ah, sometimes life was unfair. Yet, even if it was and she was stuck with Keivlos, she would love him no matter what. It was just...sometimes he got on her nerves it was times like these when a trip out doors was in order. He could run outside easier than he could inside, besides it gave Madeline sometime to sit down and calm her nerves. It had been harder and harder lately to keep herself from losing her temper.

They hadn't gone to the park like usual today though, Madeline felt that the calming visuals of the nearbye lake would be much more soothing for her pounding migrane. Keivlos shileded his eyes as they walked along the edge of the shore. "Setting shiny hurts...." he bemoaned hissing and looking up into Madeline's eyes. The blonde nodded and continued to walk, "Ma--madeline why..why cant's I thouch the setting shiny?" Keivlos was curious, he had tried many times before to grab the sun. It was so beautiful and eye catching, yet no matter how he tried, he could never hold it...at least not for long.

"Because...the son is very far away." She replied with a weary smile, "Now no more questions..." She pushed the little boy foreward. "Go run around and loose that energy of yours, so you can go to bed tonight." At these words Keivlos gave Madeline a terrified look. "Sleep! Keivie no sleep!" He grabbed at her hand and then tossed it aside and ran away screaming in a high pitched shreik, much like an animal.

...And so he was gone, Madeline let out a relieved breath as she sat down.

"Sun. Hurts. Make it go away, Daddy!" Khalindra was whining softly as she tugged on his lab coat. He had just gotten out of classes and picked his two girls up from the neighbor that he had employed to babysit them. Now, it was his time with them and he was taking them to the park. The glorious park to let Khalindra run wild.

...It wouldn't work if she wouldn't stop clinging to him.

"The sun will go down soon darling," he murmured from over Emi's head. The swan child, who was on a normal sleep schedual, had her head resting just below his chin, her honey-brown eyes half lidded and sleepy.

"Make it go down NOW."

"I can't, darling," he answered wearily, setting Emi down on the ground and picking Khali up, "You can walk, right sweetheart?"

"Uh huh," Emi answered, her delicate wings fluttering slightly as she looked around the park. jumping at the shriek, "WHASSAT?!"

Keivlos
Keivlos came skidding to a hualt as he spotted the trio walking along. At first he wasn't sure what to do, so he scrambled back into the bushes, much as an animal would do when seeking shelter from preditors. The p***y willows were tall and cool and sheltered Keivlos from the prying eyes the the world, from those looking for him, seeking. However in turn, the bushes also allowed him to look, watch, see, taste from a distance...smell the scent of others.

Slowly he crept to the edge of the lean tuby willows, one red eye peered through, he couldn't quite see so well out of the gray one, his right. What he saw, froze him. What...what was that thing in that man's arms. It was...Keivlos couldn't describe her. Yes, it was a girl, he could tell that. It looked so ...delicate so pure so...he had never seen anything with such an absense of color and it both startled and fascinated him.

Slowly he poked his head out of the under brush. For Keivlos the world had ceased to exist. Tunnel vision was his ruler now and the focus of his desire, Emi. All he could do was barely breath under those thick cotton clothes of his. With out his awareness he dug his nails into the dirt and lifted his wings slightly.

....So....pretty.

Emi
Aiden lifted his head slightly and looked around, "Iunno, little girl, want to go check it out?"

Khali dug her head into his shoulder, "Makethesunstopplease."

The man chuckled and stroked at his daughter's head as he looked at the delicate swan look rather curiously around her. The young girl nodded her head and slipped away from her daddy, summoning what courage she could, she made her way towards the bushes, "Hello?" she asked softly, eyes wide and half frightened. She wasn't used to being so far from her Knight in Shining Armor, and Khali was in his arms so she couldn't run back to them.

She may as well finish what she started, right? "Please say something if you're there?" Her voice was barely above a whisper and came out like more of a nervous squeak than anything else.

Keivlos
Keivlos stood there in shock, it was...speaking. What was that noise coming forth from between its parted lips? He couldn't quite place it, there is no way to describe the sound of the human voice. A voice is truly what makes a person you see, those vibrating notes at which the frequate. An Emi's voice had such a beautiful tone, soft barely audible, yet never quiet...it rang but died before it became an watery echo.

The raved tried to swallow, but it was no good. Up and down his chest heaved as he watched her from the bushes, she kept calling....Keivlos knew well enough what she wanted but could he dare bring himself. So pretty...but pretty hurt, pretty brought pain. An unfortunate association Keivlos had made in his short time living with Madline. His hand swung up and wiped away a small drabble of sylavia from the corner of his mouth.

With that he moved out of the bushes. No, he didn't do it quickly. Rather it was a slow, ever so cautious motion. He had to keep his eyes on her, he had to cause if he didn't she would....she would dissapear. Something so pretty couldn't be real could it...something so. Keivlos moved out of the bushes inching closer and closer to Emi.

Emi
Emi got slightly annoyed when the source of the noise refused to reveal itself. Giving a soft whimper, Emi sat herself down on the grass, staring at the bushes. Her shoulder length white hair fell over her face, hiding her eyes as she sat there, feathers arms crossed over her chest and her white dress fluttering around her, "Please?" she asked again, her voice taking on a slight pleading tone.

Emi may have been one of the most shy people in the world, but she was also very stubborn. She had to be, with Khalindra as her sister. She'd sit there until the thing showed itself. Little did she know, she was being stalked by that very thing.

Keivlos
Keivlos now poked his head out of the brush. Emi could see him now, like it...or not. His look was anything like his brothers, yes he and Revon may have shared the same face, the same clothes, the same body, yet when you put them side by side you wouldn't have known they were twins.

Revon was always so shy quiet, yet in a bouncy cute sort of way. If Keivlos was quiet it was because something was up. Something was not allright in the world, or perhpas it was just not right in his mind. His hair and feathers on his head and back were slightly afray, as they usually were. Dark circles under his eyes from lack of sleep at his age. Truly frightening, and yet not so, for as he approached Emi his face was filled with a soft awe and curious wonder, prehaps even a bit of fear.

What was that thing he was supposed to say when he met someone knew "P--pretty....." He managed to mumble under his breath. No! That wasn't it...oh well he had never been one to listen, said what he felt like.

Emi
"Revon?" she asked, raising a delicate brow as the young boy came into view. Then she noticed one of his eyes was slightly lighter than..."You stole Revon's face?" she asked, eyes widening slightly as she looked at him, reaching out to touch him shyly. The little swan looked genuinely surprised at the similarities between Revon #1 and Revon #2. Both were dark, both wore the same kind of clothes...

"Emi, honey, are you okay?"

Her head lifted and looked in the direction of her father, "Uhuh!" before turning her attention back to the raven boy.

Keivlos
Suddenly the confused and delighted stupor Keivlos was in faded. The unreastic reality of his foolsih fantasies was shatered by Emi's gentel and delicate touch. Oh god the pretty it was touching him...and pretty...pretty caused pain. Keivlos's instant reaction was to flinch preparing for the searing cutting pain that would soon shoot through his vains. An yet, as he hands remained there...he surprisngly felt nothing.

Keivlos didn't realize it but he was panting frantically, instinctivly his body thought he would be recieving pain so he was terrified. Even if mental he was calm now, his body and the adreniline pumping through it sent him shaking and gasping. Suddenly the raven acted out in an estatic manner. " I NO STOLE IT---!" he pulled away from Emi quickly.

"Is my face...." he said as he scooted back a couple of feet. A quavering voice matched equally quavering eyes. Never did his eyes leave Emi though.

Emi
Emi blinked at the young raven's reaction and drew her hand away quickly, eyes prickling with startled tears. She hadn't been expecting that reaction from the little boy, and she was certainly not expecting to be yelled at. Giving a whimper, Emi immediately pulled her knees to her chest and managed to stammer out, "S..s...s...sorry..."

Right about now, she wanted to go and run behind her father, but taking a quick look, she noticed he was busy playing with her elder sister. Instead she turned her attention back to Keivlos, whimpering, "Pretty face. Just.....look like Revon..."

Keivlos
The reaction from Keivlos was immediate. Where once had been fear, excitment, and curiosity was now filled with ...well, still curiosity but also some annoyance, a little empathy too. Prehaps not so much annoyance as when his brother began to tear but still it was certainly enough to get him a little annoyed.

Yet, pretty thing had only acted this way after he had made that very, very loud noise with his voice. He didn't want it to leave, prehaps he should not do it again. With a sigh the raven leaned out and scooted up to Emi so that he was sitting infront of her on his knees. "It's leaking." He said it, as if it were a fact.

He moved into Emi, and stuck out his tongue licking a tear away fromt he side of her face. "It leaks salty stuff just like Revon...." He frowned. Leaking was never a good thing, but how could he stop her. She had called him pretty, no good, no good at all. Pretty caused pain. He would hurt her...he didn't want that.

Emi
"Tears," Emi corrected, "No leak...Cry." even though she wasn't full out crying. And now that Keivlos was closer to her, she looked at him through her honey colored eyes which seemed to be brightened by the presence of her tears. She shook her head, trying to forget the outburst and go back to the happy bouncy girl she had been not too long ago. After all, it was a new person and she wanted to make a good impression.

Didn't she?

"I...I'm Emi. You're not Revon...Who are you?" A forced smile.

Keivlos
Tears? Keivlos' eyebrows knitted together in an expression of concentration as he tried to exactly comprehened what Emi was saying. Were tears what came from people when they were leaking? That was possibly one answer. Afterall, even if the leaking looked like water, it didn't taste like it. Water was pure an simple...there was something sweet in it too. The leaking never tasted sweet, it was always strange...it was never like water. So tears...that's what the leaking with the strange flavor was called. The raven completely ignored the idea of it being crying. No, it was leaking, the pretty was broken.

"Revie?" Keivlos' multi-colored eyes turned to look at the wonderfull creature. She knew Revie? Suddenly the raven was all excited. "Revie, Revie sweet brother Revie!" Before he knew it he had thrown his arms around her in a loose and somewaht awkward hug. "Keivlos ha-ppy preety know Revie....preety Emi know Revie." As he leaned against her his nose picked up a soft delicate scent and the warmth of her body caused him to clothes his eyes as he nesteled against her.

The pretty...it wasn't causing pain? Was such a thing possible? "...now Emi know Keivlos to...know Keivie."

Emi
Emi was completely taken aback by the hug from the dark boy that looked like Revon and it registered on her face. She was being hugged. And he was excited and not yelling in an angry way...Well, at least he wasn't yelling at her this time! And he...Wait. Revon was his brother? Well, that would explain how they looked so much alike, she supposed. But there was still the little matter of his name and why he was clinging to her so.

And then she heard his name. Okay, so that was one matter but...He was sniffing her now?

"Keivlos," she murmured, playing with the name on her tongue. Pretty name, she concluded, before awkwardly hugging him in return now that she knew his name. Names made things better.

"Nice to meet."

Keivlos
Nice...that was the word for this. The child had often heard Madeline say it before. 'This looks nice...I'm sure that will be nice', of coarse he had never understood it. Sitting next to Emi though, he simply got the feeling that this was how you used the word. You used to when you were talking about something good...the pretty was nice, this girl was nice, ...if he let go, would the nice end?

The thought sent the raven reeling. No,no,no,no,no! He wasn't going to let this end. He liked this. It was his nice. It was his too choose when he wanted it and for how long...his,his, his. With ease his grasp around Emi tightened as he possevily claimed his ownership. "....Keivie like...Emi," murmered the raven, nuzzeling his cheek against the side of her neck. "...she nice."

Had Keivlos been scaring Emi, the swan would no longer be bothered for her tormenter was yanked off as Madeline arrived to fetch her son. She had no idea what the two had been doing, it was probably harmless enough, yet, there was still something that had looked odd about it. "Keivlos..." Madeline murmered, "..you allright?" she asked the small child. What a pretty little girl, a dove or a swan most likely. D-corp had wonderfull choice when it came to picking out DNA. "You'll have to forgive little boys." She stretched out a hand to ruffle Keivlos' whom had now sneaked behind her and was now playing shy from Emi. "There such trouble....say goodbye Keivlos," came the teachers stern voice. The play date was over, weather he wanted to or night.

Quietly the raven waved a hand at his new found treasure. "...Emi..." He didn't say or do anything else though. Madeline even waited for him to do so, but when the child proved un-coporative she let it be. Only when she had spotted a parent nerbye and waved breifly did she take her son's hand and leave. Looking down at her son, Madeline smiled, she was in a much better mood now. The raven, looking up, flashed a demented look for her, "It...nice."

Note Home
To Keilvos,

My thanks for attending the flying class, you did quite well despite maybe misunderstanding a few of my directions. My fault on that one though, this will help me to learn to be more clear though.

Anyways I am writing this note as you ran off before I was able to give you a reward for passing the class. It worked out well though as I was able to find something that suited you well.

.:Let's Sleep Forever:.

Today I Learned About Death

Inside his room Keivlos sat, had it not been for Dima in one arm and the red jewl Mr. Solon gave him in the other hand, it was most likely the child would have ripped apart half the house by now. Especially that dammed pink room of his brothers. Oh, if only Keivlos knew about that. There would defiantly be a stop to it. Slashed curtains, red crayon on the walls...who else knew what the little monster would do. There was simply no end to the madness.

Fortunately for now the demon within was satisfied. Curled at the edge of his bed, Keivlos turned the stone with in his palm over and over again. For a split second a beam of sun slashed through the tattered black curtains, hitting the blood red object, making it dazzle. From the corner of his lips, a faint smile creped it's way across Keivlo's face.

Happy.

Keivlos was happy now. It was times like these he felt most at peace, in the dark silence of the small apartment building, with Mother and the Red thing gone...sure he loved Revie...but it was in his room alone that he felt safe.

From the hallway came the fait sound of a door opening. "Mother'sss, home Dima," On the wall, a noisy clock ticked notifying the seconds passing as the bird sat still. A hiss, and then the little birdie scrambled to his feet and left the room. Too bad mother was home so early. Or was it too good?

Screeching to a halt Keivlos held up Dmitriy towards the tired looking Blonde woman coming down the hall. "Motherss, guess, what Dima and I did todaaay? We hads talked." Madeline frowned slightly. That thing was disgusting. It was bad enough that Keivlos had found it in the gutter and demanded they take it home. But substituting it for real friends and conversation, now? "Why didn't you go talk with Revon or Mr. Mitsu Keivlos, are they not home?" The bird shook his head.

Home alone? Madeline thought for sure, Haruki and Revon would have beat her here. Ah well, they must have gone to get groceries or something. Sadly Madeline looked down the empty hallway, down the end of the corridor, eyes wandering until they lay upon the black void that served as the child's home. Where Keivlos had been laying in wait all morning long.

Originally the walls had been pink, and lined with pretty white ribbon wall paper. Toys had been piled to the sides, and the curtains were quaint little white wooden ones, that would open and shut with the window. It was clear that Madeline had always wanted a girl or at least a normal child. But now she had Keivlos...all she had ever wanted was a child and no matter how much he frustrated her, no matter how many times he made her cry, even if he didn't love her back some day, she loved him and she was never letting him go.

And so when Madeline realized that Keivlos was different from other children, she set to work to re-make his room. Pretty wallpaper was torn down, the pink was painted over with gray and she removed the white shutters, replacing them with curtains. Keivlos was her child and she would do anything to make him happy. "How goes it, tiger?" She smiled playfully stroking the little boys long lovely hair. How strange that it should be turning black as he got older...

"Mother," the voice was soft, more of a hiss than a whisper, and Keivlos suddenly grew very still and quiet " Whaats it like to sleep foorever?"

Is that what Keivlos had been thinking of so silently in his room? Thinking of death.

Thinking of Alan's death.

Madeline froze, ever muscle in her body tensing at the question. Silence. She didn't know what to say. The manner he asked, how he asked it...the incident had nearly been a month ago and yet, it seemed to Madeline that Keivlos had been waiting...waiting for this moment to ask her. Did...did he know? No. No. He couldn't know.

...He couldn't know that ever night she lay awake thanking god that it had been Alan to die and not Keivlos.

It was a horrible thought. But a truthful one. Perhaps even a little silly...after all who would hurt innocent children? Feeling a lump in her throat, Madeline swallowed it back.

"What if... "

It is the haunting whisper that gets us all.

"Mottther?" Keivlos looked up from his clasped position around Madeline's waist. One red eye blinked, and then the other dull gray one.

...

"It's very...peaceful," Came Madeline's voice which could barely be heard, as the teacher leaned down and suddenly wrapped her arms around Keivlos, as if protecting him from some form of danger. "It's very nice..."

Confused Keivlos stood there in his mothers arms, listening as soft sobs began to break the dead air.

...She was leaking.

Misunderstandings are Fun (PD with Revon & Keivlos)
Quote:
Crouching even lower into his chair, with knees to his chin, Keivlos stared at the clock. With each passing second his pupils seemed to grow smaller. Sporadically a nerve twitched causing him to wiggle his finger, or blink an eye. If it weren't for the small red stone he was squeezing in his hand the raven would have gone mad by now. "Almost done Keivlos," Madeline murmured, with her head turned down to finish the paper she was filling out. Another student report for the teachers logs. Poor thing, it wasn't fair to keep him inside the office like this, but what else was to be done? Haruki was here in his office and Revon too, she couldn't leave him at home. Oh the last time he was alone he had been good, but that was because...the pen in Madeline's hand slipped. "Curses--" the refined woman snapped, noticing that these thoughts were perhaps getting her a bit worked up.

"Keivlos?" Madeline looked up, only to see the raven shift in his seat and bite at the fabric of his fine blue shirt. "Moth...mo-mother is going to get another sheet, all right? Be good." The teacher gently tapped a hand on the top of her desk, before leaving the room. Keivlos would be fine, after all, she would only be out for a few minutes.

How wrong she was, no sooner had the sound of Madeline's echoing footsteps died away, did Keivlos sink to the floor with a hiss. He didn't do much at first, poking his head about here and there, he explored. It was only in her drawer that he found something exciting to catch his attention.

Through the dusty room the faint click of metal against metal was heard...scissors. An with these scissors, Keivlos just knew what he wanted to do. More, he wanted more of the shiny red, but not just any red shiny.

Silently from the room he crept, until in view through a narrow slit of doorway, Keivlos cold see Mr. Mitsu.

Quote:
Wet. How he hated to be wet. Haruki had finished attempting to towel off his mess of haira while ago and turned to scrubbing at the damp shirt with the towel. No more battle classes inthe rain. He'd just reset the date for another day. He wasn't meant to be out in the water. Besides, Revon might not like being left alone in the office durring storms. He wasn't going to leave the child alone at home all day, the office was a lot safer. There was more security upstairs. But mainly the fact that if Keivlos tried ot hurt him the camera's would catch it. Someone could do something.

He didn't trust the other raven at all. He dislike even living near him. It was solely for the child's sake that he put up with that boy. For that reason alone. He srubbed at the black cloth that was still threatening to cling to his arm in it's damp glory in annoyance. He'd get it try before long. Eventually. That or he'd give up with work for today and just go change. He just didn't want to leave without getting the paper work done.

Revon was sitting in the corner coloring in one of his more flowering books with a pink crayon. He didn't have sparkles crayons here, but the pink was a good shade. So it kept him distracted even as the door mutely opened to show his dear brother. The office was fairly safe. He'd grown to believe that after being reassured by Haruki a few times. Safe enough that he could stay in it.

Haru had his back to the door and was facing the row of books that he kept behind the desk. His attention was on the future paperwork to be done and getting the shirt dry. For now, Keivlos hadn't been noticed.

Quote:
Ever so slightly fingers curled around the frame of the parted door. Off in the corner he could see Revie, but that wasn't his real objective. The real objective was in front of him, the mass of tangled red, almost flaming hair. Inside, Keivlos felt his heart simply skip a beat and his right hand tightened around the metallic object in-between his fingers. He didn't understand why, but there was something, something about that amazingly brilliant hair which he wanted to make his own. He wanted the red, he wanted the red shiny. Ever since he was little all Keivlos could remember was Haruki's wonderful hair. Today he would have it.

Ever so slightly the boys breath became raged. His, his, his, his...it was all in his grasp now, why if he just reached out his hand. Hesitantly the boy slipped through the door, and weary eyes with black circles underneath them, moved from side to side, as Keivlos took un-even quiet steps. First one foot, then the other, then the next, quickening his pace Keivlos made his way towards Haruki. In a deadly stance, Keivlos raised his hand and pulled his fingers apart, as this scissors opened prepared to attack with their sharp teeth.

"Auh--" It was a sound a struggle, a sound of hope, a sound of worry, all made as Keivlos struck at the target before him. It was a quick lunge. With a silent finish.

Quote:
Haruki was a lot of things. Aloof, tired, wet, crankly. But there was one thing he wasn't. Relaxed. The man rarely ever relaxed and let his guard down. Nto in his office, certainly not durring a class, and not even in his own apartment. Letting ones guard down was as good as saying ' Yes! Please! Take advantage of me!' in his opinion. Not a smart thing to say. So it didn't take much for the man to catch wind that something was amiss in his office. His first response to the sound of footsteps was to glance toward Revon's corner to check if he was still coloring. Which was likely the only reason Keivlos had gotten so close.

Haruki had assumed Revon just went to find a new set of crayons in a drawer. But that wasn't the case and as the strangled noise broke free the man was pushing himself to his feet and whipping around. Causing Keivlos to miss most of his target. A few tips of the brilliant red hair fluttered down toward the black chairhe'd been seated in a moment before. But no more. Not even a inch of it had been taken.

But that was an inch too much.

Or maybe it was just the fact that the child had the audacity to come into his office and try something of that sort. "Keivlos. What are you doing in here?" There was nothing friendly in that voice. No masking the anger for once. Haruki was not in a good mood. He was crankly from being out in the rain, he didn't WANT to deal with the monster now. He didn't need to. "Why are you in my office? I forbade you to come in here!"

Quote:
Panting the Raven stepped back. Outside things may have looked calm, but inside the bird was a wreck. For starters he could see the red things lips moving....but he couldn't hear him. All he could hear was some incessant dull thumping sound echoing over and over again in his head. Poor thing...his heart was working over time with all the adrenaline rushing in his veins. "Nng..." no, noise. He didn't like that noise. It hurt his ears. It hurt his head. Dropping to one knee Keivlos shut his eyes and placed his hands to his ears. Go away, go away ugly noise!

But it didn't and again Haru was talking. Eyes flashed open, but instead of seeing Haru, all he saw was that lovely red color in front of his face. He did what a kid could only do...he went after it a second time. "Keivie don't care! Keivie must have it! KEIVIE MUST HAVE IT--" The little boy swung wildy with no regards to where he was aiming the sharp object in his hand. It was madness wich consumed him. Nothing but sheer madness.

It was inevitable, this scene. It had to come some day. It is only so long, before desires consume the soul...and Keivlos had been desiring Haru's hair for a long time now. Half sobbing, part screaming and squawking, the raven continued on with his shenanigans. Heaven forbid Revie step in. This time Keivlos might really hurt his brother.

Revie...for a split second the boy let his guard down and turned his head to make sure his brother was safe for this one. What an odd thing to do, now of all times. He had never cared before, nor would probably in the future...No. He didn't care for his brother. He just wanted to make sure he stayed out of it.

Quote:
The man glared in annoyance at the child. No response, just a mild noise. Then he knelt down a moment. Really, Haruki was all too aware that KEivlos was an unstable mass of genes. He simply chocked it up that something had gone wrong. That was what resulted in the two children. One got the moral side... the other all the rage. Thus why Revon was overly timid and fearful of upsetting the world. While Keivlos strode on a path all his own.

Even so. Haruki was not a forgiving person.

Especially not when the boy lunged at him screeching and flailing the scissors about dangerously. It was a good thing the teacher was far from slow and managed to jerk back in time to avoid the object. Which gave him enough time to reach out and catch the thing. He winced as the blade grazed his hand slightly leaving a trail of red along the blade as blood dripped from it. Even so, there would be no more flailing it around. Haruki was stronger than some crazed bird.

Revon had been starring in shock until Keivlos' outburst. At which point he quickly began to shove himself to his feet only to be stopped bya glare.

"Revon, SIT." That was all Haruki had to say as he wretched the scissors loose from the boy's hands and caught the two fists with his other. Never again. The child would NEVER try this again. It was too dangerous. "You! You..." He wasn't quite sure what he wanted to say to the child, but he wasn't saying it in front of Revon. He quickly started walking dragging the half crazed boy along with him. Out the door, a few steps. Into Madeline's office. That was where he belonged.

"You stupid, USELESS, MISBEHAVING, WILD BEAST!" He simply wanted to shake the child, try to knock some sense intot he boy. But he didn't have it in him to hurt him. No. He couldn't bring himself to. Besides, it was Madeline's job. But something had to be done. Haruki had been a bit on edge before the event from being out in the rain the entire morning. This had set off some trigger. Instead of pain the anger was directed at something similar to what the child had attempted.

Releasing the first for a moment he used his hand to hold the raven's face firm as a few quick cuts left whatever long hair Keivlos had tumbling tot he floor. Then he was done. A smear of blood was left on the child's face from the blood on his hand as he quickly turned and stormed out of the door without a word. He slammed it behind him, still clutching the scissors as he looked down the hall. There was Madeline. THIS was her problem. "And you..."

Quote:
Yes. Poor thing, it wasn't his fault Keivlos acted the way that he did. Sure, the child probably had some moral judgment left inside of him. But it was minimal...almost non-existent. Twins were a horrible thing to happen at D-corp, as much fun as they were for the parents, it meant something had gone awry in the process. All you had to do to prove that fact, was look at Keivlos and his brother. Both had more issues than Chins in a Chinese phone book. Maybe someday things would work out...but for now it looked as if everything was heading for the worst.

"Haaeh--" Keivlos stopped and opened his eyes, as ran into the first obstacle in his path, Haruki's hand. Panting the little raven looked up at the bigger and older man before him. On either side of his lips, his face turned into a snarl. "Hnng!" With a jerk, the raven ran his arm foreword with a bit of force, as he tried to continue on his original path. Haru's hand, however, would not budge. Again, Keivlos tried to lunge. Yet, no matter how hard he pushed, he simply could no longer more foreword.

Panic swept over the raven, only intensifying as Haruki snatched the scissors out of his hands. Next thing he knew, he was being dragged away, and Revie was not allowed to come. The child was conflicted as weather to be scared or angered. "LETS USS GO," came a howl from the demon child as finger dug into Haru's arm. No reply from the man however, not even a flinch. A hiss resounded from the raven, as Madeline's familiar office came into view, between the ravens silted eyes.

Again the pounding sound began to pick up in his head...and the struggling stopped as the edges of the world seemed to blend and swirl. Into a daze Keivlo's world seemed to swim. So lost was the bird, that he didn't even hear the snip of the scissors as they cut into his long beautiful white hair. The only thing he could remember was feeling something warm on the side of his face. Instinctively Keivlos let his tongue slide from his lips... Why was there rotten on his face?

Thank god at least Haru had sense enough only to cut hair and not something else, despite how much he would probably love to get back at Keivlos. At least that was Madeline's initial thought as the angry man stormed out from her office. "Mister Mitsu--" cut off. Perplexed she stared at the fuming man before her. What on earth had happened? Something red splashed against the floor....

"Are you all right?" The words were off her lips before she knew it.

Quote:
Was he... alright? "Why yes. No thanks your your hellion you insist on refering to as a son." How she could let that thing refere to her as 'mother' was beyond him. He didn't even let Revon, the well behave one, call him father. Thus, he simply assumed there must have been something a bit awry in that mind of her's. Some desperate need or another that he didn't understand. Nor did he want to. In fact, he wanted nothing to do with the pair. "I put up with him only for the sake of Revon. To save him from the breakdown that might occure if he was torn away from that... child?" The word slipped out in an almost venemous tone, something more of a question than a statement.

Was that even a child?

"You need to do something about that thing though. Maybe medicine can fix it. Even with all the psychology books I've read I can't begin to diagnos all of that beasts various complexes, issues, and oddities. I wouldn't want to. Who WOULD!?" He was more than a little pissed. He was downright ready to knock someone out. He'd kept his cool all things considered. "I don't know what you plan to do with him. But you should know... you had better control him. Get him in line. Because I am not going to put up with his insane little antics." With that he quickly marched up and thrust the now rather bloody scissors into Madeline's hands and stormed off. They had been closed of course. He meant her no harm. He wasn't going to hurt anyone really. But he was tired of this. Tired of the nonesense. He hated that child.

He quickly shook a bit of the blood that was on his hand off, leaving a few more droplets on the floor before using his other hand to open the door to his office and stepping within while examining the cut.

He'd need to put disinfectant on that.

Quote:
The blonde woman was taken aback by the words. What? What...what happened. "Mister Mitsu--" Madeline reached out to touch the man. She didn't know why, motherly instincts, or perhaps second nature in comforting. But there was something, something so chill and nasty in Haru's tone that she quickly regretted her decision and pulled her hand back to her side. In front of her was something venomous, something angry something she should be wary of. It was as if Haru had stabbed her in the heart, and the knife just kept slipping deeper with each passing word slipping from the man's mouth.

About to speak, Madeline searched for words but found nothing could just come to mind. Yes. Yes she knew about Keivlos. She knew about him better than anyone in this world. The bird could be a little...eccentric at times, but still, for Mister Mitsu to question the child's human quality. Of course Keivlos was a child...he was just as human as Revon, or Madeline, or any of the D-corp kids. How could Mister Mitsu say such despicable things? He...he didn't have any idea what it was like for that child. That...that child's life was probably hell. An here they both were, discussing it as if it were some psychological matter, while he was suffering?

Regardless of the circumstances, those words were unforgivable. No matter what Keivlos had done Madeline would stand by his side. Certainly she wouldn't be letting this one slip by. She never did. Keivlos was always reprimanded for his behavior...the problem was it didn't work. She couldn't bring herself to physical punishment. It seemed all to haneus to beat a child who, Madeline believed had no control over himself. What kind of parent would do that? Only one not fit to be one. So what does one do?

Curtly Madeline took the scissors as she was handed them. "Better get that looked at..." she whispered under hear breath, turning towards the door of her office, " ...it looks infected."

In all honesty, she hoped it was.

Shutting the door behind her, Madeline looked at the groggy raven on the floor.

Yes, it was clear in this case of who was truly the moster here, and it wasn't the small child sitting on the floor.

Quote:
He quickly slumped into his chair eyeing the mess that had lef ta few nice bloodstains on his pants. Stupid bird. Stupid child. BEAST... THING! Whatever Keivlos was. He hated it. He wanted the brat out of his life, gone for good. The day he didn't see Keivlos again would be the beginning of a better life.

But he'd live. He'd put up with it. Red eyes that had closed when he learned his head back in the chair opened to stare at the boy who was waiting int he corner. Because he couldn't cause Revon the agony of dragging them apart. Revon clung to that creature as if it was his only lifeline. He didn't want some selfishness be what caused that already fragile ego to break. He couldn't be. That was why he'd stopped himself, why he hadn't shaken the child senseless asking him 'WHY!?'

Why for everything.

This anger wasn't about today so much. Oh certainly Haruki had been on edge. Yes, he wasn't in a good mood. But the real thing that was the subject of that venemous rage was what he had to watch everyday. Every ******** day. He watched that little demon torment Revon. Leave cuts, scratches, bruises, and what was worse... all of those mental problems. He could heal those physical wounds at night when Revon was asleep. A bit of magic did that. It was all the problems that stemmed from Keivlos that he couldn't fix.

He had no qualm pinning Revon's fear of flying on Keivlos' canyon dive. He had no problem realizing that Keivlos' constant barrage of 'bad bird' had to do with Revon being so anti-social. That the stutter was caused by the lack of self esteem being bashed into submission daily caused. He'd been through something similar. He didn't like seeing a repeat of it and not being able to do anything about it. If anyting it caused him more agony than anyone knew. So what in gods name was they woman thinking letting a beast like that do whatever it wished?

He sighed digging into the drawer and pulling out the disinfectant. Hehad some for obvious reasons. Keivlos' antics with Revon. So after wetting a cotton ball he cleaned up his hand carefully. Making sure that the entire cut the ordeal had made was clean before dragging out some of the cloth bandages he had in the drawer as well and wrapping it up. He'd chosen not to say a word to Revon up till now. The child knew better than to talk to. It was just part of how things went. Though as he finished and tucked the extra cloth and disinfectant back into place he looked up at the speechless child.

"You're brother is fine. Madeline is with him now." His voice was once more calm as his mind smoothed everything over. Back into place again. "Everything is going to be fine." He managed a small smile to hopefully give the young boy a bit of confidence before working to clean up what mess had been made around the desk by the whole thing. "Once I finish cleaning up we'll go home." He was done working for the day.

The Ties That Sever (PD between Revon & Keivlos on AIM)

Quote:
An interesting day to say the least. Haruki had quickly pushed things into order and literally stormed back to the apartment while dragging Revon along with. Obviously it wasn't quite 'fine' and normal. But the boy knew better than to try it out of his guardian. He was done witht he encounter that day, which meant it was locked up in the safe of past events. So it meant end of discussion.

So it had to be enough for Revon. He'd simply been told to go to his room until dinner. He could play his game, do some form of homework, write, snuggle his doll. It didn't matter. Just as long as he stayed in his room with his door closed. No brother. And no Haru. Haruki never came in his room and besides, he'd heard the man go into his own room and close the door. So he was alone for the time being, sentenced to be cooped up and confused. He didn't know why his brother had acted like that, nor what had gone on after they both left the office. He just knew it couldn't be good. Which was rather sad. He wanted them to get along.

He buried his face a bit more into the soft fabric of his plushie, tugging the thing closer as he did. Since they'd gotten home he'd just been sitting on his bed cross-legged wishing it would be better again. That everyone would be happy and things could be like they were. Just like always. He didn't want anyone to be angry.

Quote:
Bustling inside the doorway, Madeline shut the umbrella she was carrying. Not a single drop of rain on her. Keivlos, on the other hand, was soaked to the bone. No matter how much Madeline had pleaded and begged with him, he refused to get under her umbrella. Or put on extra clothes...or do anything that would prevent him catching cold for that matter. "Oh Keivlos..." with a frown Madeline looked up at the little boy who was curiously tugging at the empty space where his hair had used to be. He was still unsure what to make of it.

"Stay here," were Madeline's last words as she went off to fetch the small child a towel and some dry, clothes (ones with out holes in them), which possibly meant, it would be a while before Madie returned. Time didn't matter however for Keivlos, back in thirty seconds, back in a minute… the small child had only one thing on his mind. Revie. "Revie,reive...bro-ther..." he wanted to share, wanted to share his experience today with the other boy. Wouldn't Revie have something to say about it?

Silently, with rain drops still falling from his wet feathers, Keivlos skittered down the hallway. Ominously the doorway to brother's home loomed in the dark. Never locked the door was, but it never registered to Keivlos that it was always open either. The door was just a rectangle, a rectangle that Revie was behind...well, actually, Revie lived behind many rectangles...Keivlos had to make his way behind all of them first. The boy, finished his mission ,however, in record time had slunk his way into Revon's room.

But instead of the banshee-like scream he had intended for his brother, nothing came out.

Quote:
That hidious color was pink. Revon's favourite little thing in the world. Well aside from his brother. but the shade was definitely something the raven was more than a little fond of. Probably too fond of. Everything was decked in the color. Bed spread, walls, dressers. If it came in a shade of pink, Revon had chosen that particular color for it. And if not... he'd managed to get it painted that way.

Oh, but not only the furniture stank of the color. Revon too was clad in pink from head to toe. Two ribbons on either side of his head. A mid-sleeve shirt that was light pink with a darker pink set of star shapes on it. As well some dark pink shorts underneath a star themed skirt. Of pink. Lastly was a set of thigh high pink socks with stars randomly sprinkled on them. All in all it wasn't the usual outfit for a young boy. Unless of course you were Revon. Then it was absolutely normal.

At the sound of the door opening the boy quickly glanced up thinking perhaps Haruki was there to say something. Instead there stood his brother looking like he'd been slapped... or something? He wasn't sure. Still a smile came to the boy's face instantly before he chimed in with a greeting. "H-hi, Lo!"

Quote:
For a minute, all that Keivlos could do stand there. What was this...feeling surging through his veins? With eyes averted towards the ground, the boys finger tips twitched lightly. Everything in the room was quite still except for the silent 'drip', 'drip', 'drip' of the raven's wet hair.

This place, this room...he didn't like it, he didn't like Revies home. What had happened, here? Where were the things that Revie used to love before? Why was Revies room so full, when it had once been so empty. It didn't hit him till then, but it dawned on Keivlos that Revie too was different. His brother, had changed. And it angered him. ...Or was it possibly that it hurt him? Hurt him to think the one thing in his life that was so similar to him, was actually more different. Always, always there had been one thing that Keivlos could count on and that was Reivie. Revie listened, Revie did what he said...Revie was Keivlos, Keivlos was Revie. It was impossible that the bird could be anything different.

"Whaat, isss, brother...weaaringg?" Came the chill voice of the raven, as for the first time in his life, his eyes wandered over in Revon with pure disgust. Yes. There had been many a time where he was not pleased with his brother. But never had there been this much misery and hate in his voice. Realizing you've lost something, always causes the most greif.

"Keviee, does naught like."

Quote:
Not... like? The boy frowned at that, glancing around the room. He knew that Keivlos didn't particularly like the color, or that he'd dress in a far too feminine way. But... The way he said it. The tone. He'd never heard his brother speaking like that. Today was a whole bunch of new sides to Keivlos he was seeing. He didn't particularly like these sides of his brother either. He wanted to go back to when things were happier. Like that day with Yeesha. That was a good day.

They needed to be like that again.

Instead he could only clutch at his doll and shrink back at the words. Questioning... questioning it. "Why... why i-is Lo th-the only one wh-who h-hates it?" He frowned slightly, practically making the plushie pop with how close he was tugging it. Swallowing a bit of the regret that was trying to boil up in his throat he prepared himself for the second question. "Why is Lo the only one who calls me bad?" It was hard to say that, but it was true. He'd come across a lot of people. All of them had been nice, a bit different, but nice.

Keivlos had become the odd one out. Even Haruki was nicer to him than his own brother. "Does... Lo h-hate me..?"

Quote:
Not for one moment did Keivlos take his eyes off Revon. With each passing word, the black birds eyes narrowed until they were nothing more than two multi-colored slits glaring at his brother. So this, this was what it had come down too...Revie....Revie was a traitor. Had there been any way to describe his brother that Keivlos knew he would be screaming it halfway across the room, but there was nothing. That was right. There always was nothing. "Always lone," the raven whispered tilting his head down even more so that Revon would not be able to see him. ' Keivie always lone'. By his sides, the ravens fingers slowly began to curl themselves into tight little fists.

"Ta-Ta--" Inside Keivlos could feel his whole body shaking and it truly scared the small child. Revie was a bad birdie...bad...only a bad birdie would be wearing those colors...only a bad birdies don't listen...only...."Haa-ha--TAKE IT OFF," The words came from his lips, with out thought and burst from his lips with out thought.

"OFF! OFF" screamed the raven over and over again, as he advanced upon his brother. So close to tears Keivlos was that he had to close his eyes as he lunged upon innocent little Revon. "Why does Revie never listen like good birdies doo-Why CAN'T REVIE BE LIKE KEIVIE!"

A wretched howling scream pierced the air whilst the child gave up in frustration. The disgusting color would come off…would…with a hiss Keivlos fled to the kitchen, only to return moment's later with a sharp kitchen knife from Madeline's side of the house. "Reivie will listen to Keivie…" the bird sniffed as he stared at his brother, backed up against the wall and pushed to the bed.

Quote:
Always alone? But he wasn't. Keivlos had always had Revon. Revon was always there for his brother, as much as anyone could be. Or so he thought. The boy inched forward slightly toward his brother, as if to contradict the statement, to say he hadn't meant to make the other child upset. That he did love him, and to say how important he was. That he wasn't alone. But before he had a chance to say that Keivlos was stammering something. Then screaming at him. Any attempt to get closer to his brother quickly switched into a jerk back.

Take it off? Was the color so bad? Why... why did only Keivlos hate it so? He wanted his brother to like it. Madeline thought it was pretty. So did Cleo, and... so many people liked how he looked. Why didn't his brother? He sniffled, a few tears welling in his eyes. Why did his brother act like this? He wanted him to be proud of him. Not angry, not screaming at him like this. Not yelling at him about why they couldn't be alike. But they couldn't could they? Because... Because Revon wasn't like his brother. Not completely. Revon loved that difference though. Who would want to have a clone of themselves? He'd never feel unique... he wanted to be different.

"B-because... I... I'm not Lo." He said quietly even as his brother was darting out of the door.

Then he was back. Back with something that spelled trouble. The boy quickly shoved himself back closer to the wall, away from his brother. He'd been hurt before by his brother. With many little sharp things. Glass, pins. Nothing too bad. He didn't mind. It had been because he did something wrong. But this wasn't a toy. This wasn't something small. "K-Keivlos..." The boy clutched the doll closer to him with one arm the other pressed against the wall as if to try and push it down. "Stop..." For once... his brother was scarying him.

Quote:
The struggle that would peruse could only be one sided. It was clear between the two, which one had the ambition and drive to make it his way. And as far as Keivlos concerned, it would be his way. If sheer determination didn't dictate it as such, Keivlos stregnth would. While Revon was busy playing DDR, Keivlos was out and about running around in his own manner. Swinging from high objects, jumping out windows, the older brother was the stronger of the two. Even if their differences in stregnth were small at this age, it was the small differences that changed the outcome.

Up and down Keivlo's tiny chest moved. In the light of the room, the blade caught the bright reflection and sent a glint in Revon's direction. A toss of his head, sent what was left of the ravens hair flying. He was so used to having his head feel heavy...he didn't like this new feeling, this light---it felt forigen and unfamiliar, like an intruder encroaching on everything he loved and knew. The unfamiliar seemed to be quite a pattern lately. Keivlo's world was changing, changing into a world that very few understood, or cared to even know about...he didn't like these changes, he didn't want to change with out Revie...but Revie was changing too, and it wasn't with him.

"Quit leaking." The words were sharp and un-kind. "How many times must Kevie tell Revie that he hates it when he leaks?" Word by word Keivlos crept in on his brother. In his hands, the boy flipped the handle of the knife about, his grasp shifting, vying for the best position available. "Why doesn't Revie like the shiny red? Haa?" By now Keivlos had crawled onto the bed and was making his way rapidly towards the other small child.

Mercilessly small fingers wrapped around Revon's ankle as Keivlos dragged the scared boy towards him. " --HAA?! WHAT'S WRONG WITH REIVIE?!" The child was back to shouting again, even as Revon struggled and Keivlos dug his finger nails into his twin. "--WHY CAN'T REVIE BE NORMAL? AUGH--" With a struggling shout Keivlos pushed his brother, and with a downward slash brought the knife into Revon's arm.

It was at that moment that the world seemed to drown out and fall into slow motion. It wasn't...immediately that Keivlos noticed his favorite color among the pink pillows and sheets. He simply...stood back for a moment. One eye blinked and then the next.

Since when could Revie, scream this loud?

Quote:
Revon could only try to slink further away into the wall as his brother's first command came. He knew his brother hated he did, but... but you leaked when you were scared. And he was certainly scared. His brother had done some odd things in the past, but until now he'd never once questioned if they were good or bad. They had to be good. His brother loved him, he'd never tell him something bad. Much less DO something bad to him. That was why he almost regretted looking at things now. It had only brought him frightening thoughts and an even more frightening reality.

The shiny red? He didn't mind it. He really didn't, but in moderation. Things like knives knew nothing of moderation. "L-lo..."

Whatever quiet plea he might have tried to make was quickly silenced as his brother snagged his ankle and drug him along the bed. Revon had never been a loud child, which was likely why hadn't screamed yet. But as his brother's last screeches cut through the air like the knife ran through the cloth into his arm. That was when, for the first time in his life, he was louder than his brother. It was more of a loud howl at the sudden pain that rushed from his arm that caused it which broke into a scream.

It wasn't so much the pain that kept him crying out as it was fear and betrayal. Yes, his arm hurt, but it wasn't as if it was so deep. It was that his brother had done that to him and that he couldn't stop him that really hurt.

When a child was told to be quiet by Haruki, they did it. At least Revon did. So when the red-head heard a screech far louder than he'd ever heard the sometimes mute bird break the silence he'd been enjoying he was quick to attention. The book he'd been cooling his nerves with snapped shut and he was out his door and throwing open Revon's within what seemed a few seconds. What he saw wasn't exactly what he'd expected though.

Or perhaps it was.

He'd known Keivlos wasn't all right in the head, but he'd never truly expected him to go after Revon as it appeared he was now. Still, now wasn't the time to contemplate why the boy was off his rocker. Now was a good time to prove just how useful knowledge could be. The alternative way.

A few steps and a loud 'thwack' sounded as the book Haruki had moments before been reading found it's way to the side of raven's head. None to lightly either. Haruki didn't take pity on people when they'd ticked him off one to many times.

Quote:
What had he done? It would be quite a while before Keivlos even cared to think back on the present situation at hand. He didn't get it. His head...it was all buzzing and the noises were hurting his ears, he could smell the rotten in the air. "Reivie..." the raven mouthed, why was his brother going on like that? In his right hand, the knife dropped and as it slipped onto the bed, left a red stained trail down the cheerfully colored upholstery. Tossing his head, Keivlos let out a low grumbling murmur.

"...revie...?" As the bird began to come to, less and less he began to like the situation before him. Brother sounded awful. God. Revie was such a girl. The red shiny coming from his arm, it couldn't have hurt that much. It never bothered Keivlos, why did it bother Revie. Revie was always acting like he was hurt, always acting so..."Be quiet." Whispered Keivlos as he shoved himself on top of his brother, covering the screaming birds mouth with his twisted fingers. "Grow up." He didn't want to hear it anymore. Who was this person in front of him? It wasn't his brother. That was for sure. Beneath himself he could feel Revon kick and wiggle. The poor raven, he must have been fighting for what he thought was his life.

It was strange how the two were nearly exact replicas...but Revie felt so skinny and weak beneath Keivlos hands. Revie had been replaced....replaced with some, some sort of girl...some sort of. "What's wrong with you--" for once in his life Keivlos had lost that strange way he used to speak. But then again, for once, he knew what he wanted to say and it had meaning. "Stop twisting." Croaked the raven as he went for his brothers shirt, fingers cached and tried to tare the sleeve. It was the clothes...it was the ugly color...if he got rid of those, maybe he would find Revon underneath it.

That idea was interrupted however, with the feeling of his skull being cracked against something hard. On his back, feathers ruffled and pricked, until once again Keivlos had maintained his balance and recovered from the hit. Viciously eyes turned to stare at the man with the red shiny hair he so loved. What was it Revie was always calling him and Madeline? "Ha-ru......ki." Outwardly hissed Keivlos as he blindly reached back for the blade of the knife. What was he doing here? Couldn't he see, that Keivlos was busy? ...The red thing was always screwing things up. Always messing up his plans with Revie. Keivie was helping Revie...but Haruki never seemed to understand that. --Disgusting monster. Even if it did have that beautiful color to its hair..."NnnAAAGU---" With a screaming lunge, Keivlos pulled his knife and aimed for the one and only thing visibly in his site right now. Stupid man.

"---KEIVLOS!" There was a feminine shout which pierced the air and before Keivlos could find himself even within a foot of his target, Madeline had wrapped her arms around her son. Half tripping to reach him in time, the woman had her arms wrapped around the little boy's waist, pinning him to the bed, while she her self lay flat against it. With a twist of her hand, she soon managed to grab the knife from his fingers. "What are you doing…" came a soft muffled sob as once again the teacher regained her composure and began to stand up, taking Keivlos with her.

The knife hit the floor and the room was silent.

"m-mother?"

Quote:
Haruki had readied to make sure that boy didn't get up again as he started at him. The boy was lucky though, that woman stopped him. For once she seemed to realize just how out of control the creature was. Just how much help it needed. The man couldn't say that Keivlos was helping Revon in the slightest, if anything he was the greatest bane to Revon's existance than anything else. More trouble than he was worth.

Still, the woman had him under control. Or seemed to. Letting the book he'd been prepared to once again whack the child over the head with in order to stop him drop to the ground, Haruki's own parental instincts kicked in. If that was what you called them. He quickly rushed to the now quietly child.

Revon was still sobbing rather loudly, but there wasn't the loud screaming tone to it, more of a breakdown cry than anything. He was watching everything fall apart. That happy vision he'd had of the world where the household was fine really had crumbled. His brother had said something was wrong with him. He did hate him. Then he'd intended to try to hurt Haruki too... Everything was falling apart and he didn't know what to do.

The raven blinked glancing away from his brother as he felt something tugging the sleeve up from his arm. Haruki? When had he gotten there? The last time he'd looked the man still had the book so? He sniffled slightly and let his head drop a bit as the man tried to get the ripped bits of cloth away from the wound. "H-ha... am I..."

"You'll be fine." The quick reply came as the man finished cleaning up the mess of pink shreds and rested a hand on the cut a moment. This was when abilities like his came in handy. Beneath his hand the cut was quickly mending itself, as if time had sped up to fix it. In turn, Haruki got a nice taste of what it felt like to have someone run a blade along his arm. A fair trade really. Not that he enjoyed it much. Still... he let out as sigh as he finished and removed his hand to wipe away what was left of the blood. Yes, as if nothing had happened.

Revon hadn't meant to ask that. He knew he wasn't going to die from a cut. What he was worried about was what his brother had said. Was something wrong with him? Had his brother been right? He glanced briefly toward his brother before he was scooped up from the bed without a word.

They wouldn't be sticking around. Not at all. Haruki simply gave the blond woman a glare that likely told her everything he was thinking. How he thought the child was a monster. That this was the end of the 'happy family' picture she'd wanted to portray. And that she, along with the beast, wouldn't be allowed to visit or see Revon for a long time. At least until they both figured out how to get their issues in order. Until then, it was time to leave and get a new apartment.

With that out of the way he quickly took the bird in his arms and left. Not a word for anyone. He was not happy. He was far from it. And he knew where to let off some steam in quiet. Behind a locked office door. Then he'd get back and start packing. Revon could wait at the office.

The boy's brows knitted as he was left to stare at his brother as he was carried out. So that was it? His brother thought he was awful and wanted him dead... or something. He slumped into the man's arms as they rounded the corner and his brother dissapeared from sight. Out of the apartment. Farther away from what hurt. "Was I wrong?"

"No, it wasn't your fault."

Quote:
In his ears that horrible thumping sound had seemed to completely take over, he couldn't hear anything else, couldn't see anything before him but the red blur of shadows. If someone had told the raven it was his heartbeat, he wouldn't have believed them. Nothing could cause the despicable feeling which was spreading its way through him like a horrid plague. "Mother..." it was a soft, ever so gentle whisper that Keivlos muttered before he turned in Madeline's arms and shoved himself in a comfortable crook between the woman's chest and shoulder. Before long the little thing was dry heaving, body tense, his fingers digging deeper and deeper into Madeline's shoulder.

If the pain was horrible, Madeline hid it well. Never once did she stop whispering sweet mumbles into the poor Childs ear, even when her eyes were on terrified Revon. Over and over again she stroked the back of his head, "Ssh...ssh..." Haruki had moved in too quick for Madeline to do anything about the crying child on the bed. Not that she expected anything less from Revon's guardian. Haruki may have been even more of an icy person than Madeline, but he was rather caring of his charge. If he did care for anything in this world, it was for Revon. Though, it was some times hard to even imagine that.

Unfazed Madeline watched Haru's gifts do things, which she, a normal person, could never do. However, time at D-corp had opened her eyes to things beyond this world and the next...maybe it was the color of his hair that gave him away, but there was something about Haru which made him special. At least....at least Revon wouldn't be in pain anymore. At least..."Oh Keivlos, what have you done?"

Bending her head, Madeline closed her eyes and rocked her son back in forth in her arms, as Haru and Revon both left the room. Suddenly, she felt very old and very tired...and very lost, she...she didn't really understand Keivlos. It worried her. What--what kind of a mother was she? Children shouldn't be acting like this. Was it really Keivlos? Or had she allowed his behaviors to go on too long? With a deep sigh, the teacher turned and began to walk towards her side of the apartment and towards the dark door at the end of the hallway.

"Keivlos..." she finally asked turning the door knob, "...why did you do it?" Slowly fingers tried to pull the child's head back and away from her.

Expecting to receive a tear filled face give a mumbled answer, the teacher was shocked to find not a single drop brimming from the child's eyelids. ....Then again, when had Keivlos ever cried?

He hated to leak.

.:It Hurts Me More Than It Hurts You:.

madeline's worries

Madeline
03/01

My Dear Anthony,

How are you? Are things going well for you, my sweet? Is life treating you kindly? Anthony, tell me, have you found any work? If you have, does your boss treat you kindly? Do you like the place where your living Anthony? Are you ill? Have you been eating enough? Is the weather pleasant?

Ah, Anthony, I am sorry for the barrage of questions. Forgive me my dearest, these are probing words emulating my own current fears and worries, for as of now Anthony, I am terribly lost and alone.

Anthony, do not worry about me. This letter is not meant to alarm you, but is written so that through its marred black and white pages, I may come to terms with the difficulties in my life. Do not in your haste of reading these troubled words, rush to my rescue. I’ll be fine my old friend. I promise.

Formalities and introductions aside, I now halt at the very precipice of my troubles as I question where to begin with it all. I suppose I should start from the beginning, the very spring from which my nights of restless sleep abounded and now trickle through my waking hours, as if they shall never be banished and reign terror over me, evermore.

“Evermore,” it is a word which brings to mind a very particular passage of famous poetry I know both you and I have read over several hundred times. Though it may seem daft Anthony to be bringing up Poe, I can assure you it is most relevant to the subject at hand.

My boy, my little boy, my most treasured position…I’ll I ever wanted in life has been simple Anthony, I’ll I’ve ever wanted was something to love. I still can barely recall the exact moment in which Keivlos was given to me, it seems now all a pleasant fantasy, a kind dreamy delight as I picked him up in my arms and kissed the top of his head, finally whispering words I’ve wanted to say all my life: “My baby.”

Anthony, I don’t think I lie when I say those were the two sweetest words to ever come to my lips. But now…now it pains me to even write the three loving syllables with scrawled hand across this page.

It pains me because I know…I know I am not worthy to own them. I’m a horrible mother, Anthony. Unfit to have children, unfit to raise them. ---But what was I to do my dearest? I had no choice but to punish my child, my beloved infant!

Forgive me my dear, I am getting ahead of myself. Reading that I hope has made you smile, a small reminder that I am still the woman you once loved. However, I am afraid I am stalling my story (and perhaps even boring you) with my jumbled words and so I feel I should best explain to you what I mean.

The other day, Anthony, Keivlos hurt his brother. It was no simple outburst either. Keivlos hurt his twin in a most serious manner using one of the knifes hanging atop my kitchen counter. Calm yourself my dear, as I have said before everything (and everyone) is perfectly fine.

I know it may seem strange to read those few sentences side by side, seeing as how together they create two terribly conflicting statements. Yet, it is hard for me to explain precisely what occurred and so I am afraid I shall not try to explain at all, but rather continue along with this letter.

Needless to say Anthony, I could no longer ignore Keivlos’ most radical behaviors. Oh my dear friend, you know how it hurts me so to play the villain but no longer could I idly sit and watch as my most precious gift drive himself further and further into unacceptable destruction. So, I did what any reasonable parent would have long since done. I punished Keivlos.

I still wonder if I did the right thing Anthony…but there was no other manner in which I could threaten, shake or even mar his incomprehensible mind. Anthony I…I took away his most treasured possession and perhaps even his only friend. Not his brother, I could never do that, but a most treasured and tattered Doll of his which he has given the nickname Dima.

Still…still I can hear my little ones panicked screams as I tore the molding and moth eaten toy from his hands. “Give me Dima!” He shouted at first. However, the longer I refused to return his precious friend, the more his pleading and frantic calls became.

“GIVE ME DIMA…” he screamed, fingers practically clawing at the door before he choose a very specific word which I have heard from his lips few times before, “PLEASE”. After that it was too much…I closed the door on him.

Don’t. Don’t blame me Anthony! I tried everything I could. You would have shut him out too if only you could have heard how he promised me he would be good “forever”. Forever…can you believe that Anthony? You may not know it, but forever is a long time to a child...a very long time. They only use it when they mean it.

How badly I wish I could take my actions back Anthony, run to hold my little boy in my arms and give him everything I have to offer and all he’s every wanted. Why is it always actions which are the most loving also feel the most painful?

For a long time…for a long time I’ve known Keivlos isn’t perhaps all right, Anthony. I know I always will love and accept him, but what of the rest of the world? My actions had to be done, surely you must agree, and even though it is painful for him now, all things will come to pass.

Or at least…I hope they will. Every day I beg for his forgiveness.

Please write back as soon as possible dearest, I fear with out your encouraging words, I am nothing.

.:A Very Bloody Message:.

keivlos' revenge

“PLEASE,” Came the last dying squawk from a pathetic child’s mouth, “Keivie—KEIVIE BE GOOD FOREVER, “ Finger clawed at the ground as the raven child, Keivlos, gave an ending plea, all hopes of reclaiming his beloved ‘Dima’ fading slowly.

“Mother…” Dry eyes where glistening ones should have been peered up at the blonde woman towering above him. His Dima…Dima was his friend, the only one who would listen to him. Dima never laughed at him, Dima never leaked, Dima was always there…always so sweet with his strange silence. Keivlos didn’t think he could live with out his friend. “Please give Dima back…Keivie be good forever if you do.” Holding his breath, the feathered boy let go of the door hinges while he slunk to the ground, curling up into a shape where it was possible to escape the now seemingly empty space which loomed all about him.

He didn’t stay in his protective cocoon for long. A sharp, crisp “No,” sent him flying up this time enraged but not upset. “WHY?!” Came the screaming shout, as Keivlos rammed himself against the black door of his room.

Madeline, afraid she had truly released the monster with in her son, shut the barrier she had been standing behind quickly with a nervous squeak. “Be—Because,” she shouted back now with determined reason. “You hurt your brother, you hurt Revon! You can’t do that Keivlos. It’s bad Keivlos and if you hurt someone you will be punished. You need to learn consequences for your actions.”

It wasn’t like the teacher to use such simple diction but the peppery white and black head of the child would understand nothing less. Keivlos had to learn a lesson. The message was something in the works, a long time coming, and now the moment for it to take shape in the child’s mind had finally arisen.

Of course, Keivlos understood none of it.

Perplexed, dirty fingernails dug at the stained wood of the closed door in front of him. Hurt brother? No. Keivlos hadn’t hurt Keivie. It was brother who had hurt him. So why, why was mother punishing Kevie? Why wasn’t shiny blonde thing punishing Revon…why did she take away Dima? Had Keivie been a bad birdie?

The longer the child suppressed these thoughts, the greater the rage which built up with in his tiny body until he found himself slamming his fists against the cold solid object in front of him again and again. “GIVE DIMA BACK!” The inhuman screech rang out amongst the covers and drapes of the drab room. Keivlos knew his shouting was useless, he was intelligent enough to know that Madeline had left long ago. She couldn’t deal with the raven when he was like this.

Adults. Keivlos loathed them with a passion, a message which was clearly visible on the child’s face as he extracted himself from against his doorframe. For quite a long time now Keivlos had been pondering his feelings towards those creatures larger and more articulated than himself. Creatures which seemed to control and dictate his every more.

When he had been smaller, it hadn’t mattered so much. He didn’t notice exactly how infuriating it was to have that delicious piece of raw meat in his throat suddenly ripped from his teeth. Keivlos loved to eat the rotten, he enjoyed the delicious taste of uncooked meat in his mouth …and garbage….and things that Adults (and most other children) would dare not eat. Mother, however, disagreed with his taste in food and let him know it by forcefully taking those “nasty” dishes away from his open mouth. Mother and Mr. Mitsu, he hated them with a passion. They were always telling him “no”, always making him do things he didn’t want to do.

Yet, he could forgive them for that (or so one would hope). But Madeline’s in-consistencies in punishing the two brothers could no longer pass in Keivlos mind as something plausible nor forgivable. Perhaps it was hurt which drove Keivlos to what he did next but the idea that he had nothing else to take his aggression out on was another plausible idea for his madly driven motions. Would Mother punish him for his actions to come?...Some how the child’s mind doubted it and it only speed his resolution.

Hastily the raven dashed over to his besides, where he promptly took a head-on nosedive underneath the bed. At first it seemed as if he was trying to burrow under the mass of inky blackness which poured from the lifted covers of his bed spread. The thought was banished, however, as objects began to fly from out of the depths.

A chipped silver bell, a needle…a shattered mirror, all of it junk—abandoned to the trash and forgotten by those who had once owned it. Except Keivlos who had adopted the battered objects with relish. He took a great and slightly perverse enjoyment of sneaking outside to the neighbors trash now and gain to see what he could find.

A muffled cough sounded from under the bed announcing several moments later the bird was satisfied with his efforts. A wary body crawled from under the bed to lay against the pile of treasures now at the center of his room and Kevilos for the first time in a long while smiled. Content, hands began to wander from obscurity to obscurity resting only until his fingers were tightly wrapped around a flat and dull metallic figure with something that looked all too much like blood for comfort along its slightly sharp blade.

And as if to cure possible doubts Keivlos reached out with an open mouth to taste the greasy dried liquid, a smack of the lips proving that it was edible and too his liking. That matter aside Keivlos rolled back the sleeves of his black shirt and with a swift striking motion slashed at his naked forearm with the old razorblade. It was the first of what was to be many cuts.

Angry, confused and hurt Keivlos hacked at whatever patch of dark feathery skin was available. At one point the boy’s hand twisted at the wrong angle and managed to painfully leave a cut across his cheek and not his arm as he had intended. The bird flinched. It hurt, but he didn’t cry, all he simply muttered was, “Stupid Revie—leaks too easily,” and continued to cut himself till he was either satisfied or too exhausted to continue.

It must have been that he was happy with his efforts for moments instead of tired for moments later he stumbled up half a dried marker in hand. From the moment Madeline had left a plan had been brewing in Keivlos head. Smarter than he seemed, the bird had one last finishing touch too finishing everything off. Dima…he would get his beloved Dima back…and if he didn’t—The marker flashed to the wall. No. That wasn’t an option.

He couldn’t live with out his friend.

“Dear Line—line MadelINE, MoTHER,Maamaomomother.” The writing scrawled at first, came in various shapes and sizes as Keivlos began to write against his bedroom wall. Some of the words twisted and curled, while other letters wobbled back and forth across the wall in a fairly steady hand. “Look. Kevie hurt himself, Keivie punish himself for what he did.” Not that the raven was exactly sure what he had done to bring forth Madeline’s anger, but whatever it was, he hoped this would offset the balance. “Keivie be good now, you don’t have to worry. --Give dima back.” Good grammar would have suggested a question mark was necessary after the last line but Keivlos didn’t know any better.

Finished writing the bird headed back towards his pile of junk. Not worrying if his request to mother would get through or not, the little bird beat his wings briefly, let a few yawns pass his lips and then settled down upon his pile of broken and obscure objects. Against the midst glinting silver and red blobs the black bird looked quite at home, leaving an almost photogenic moment of himself as he curled up into a small ball.

.:Empty Words:.

shots and other daily worries

Madeline
04/01

Dear Anthony,

I write this letter as my eyes are falling shut. These past few days have been so exhausting I can barely keep about with it all. Sometimes I wish it were my time to lay down and shut my eyes for a nap...a very long nap , or as Keivlos says, "sleep forever".

Oh no. I have done it again. By now Anthony I am sure you are tired of reading about my son and would like to hear more about my life than anything else. But oh how things change when you become a parent, Keivlos in essence is my life.

Why yesterday the my entire waking hour's were devoted to that small precious face...one that still remains silent as a plead for a word or two. He still isn't speaking to me, not since I punished him, my love.

I don't know if I can bare his unusual treatment much longer--

Keivlos got his first shots. He did well and was a brave boy for me...tried to eat the needle several times, but after some struggle we worked out an agreement. In addition to Dima, (whom I gave back) Keivlos has taken to wearing a long dirty trench coat he found lying about. At first I refused to let him wear it...but to refuse him I'm afraid would only drive him away.

Yes, he was a good boy getting his shots...got a reward too...wearing strange clothes that I would never approve of, finding them only god knows where. Some rubber boots...a greasy scarf...at least he has taken to his ballet leotard I purchased.

Oh? Did I not tell you? Keivlos is now taking Ballet. My idea of course, but the boy desperately needs something to focus his energies on instead of...instead of...taking them out on himself, I suppose.

I am tired now.

Again, please write back...have my letters not reached you? Are my words simply filling a empty and blank page, never to be read by human eyes?

Missing You Greatly,

Madeline--
