Miangel Silver Eye Snake er...I have an alto, but I don't know how to play it yet (I'll be learning that this year). I've been wanting to play it forever though ^^ Hm...I feel so out of place/stupid. I don't suppose you would have any tips for me, would you? sweatdrop Hm... well, the only advice I can really give is just keep at it when you start to learn. Maybe ask for some help from a fellow alto player. What else have you played before? I play the...*hides* Flute heart

I switched to sax to be in jazz band (my first jazz band class is in... forty minutes, too!). Anyway, playing flute first makes learning sax pretty easy. A lot of the fingerings are very similar/the same. The only trouble you might have is with key (alto's in E flat, right?) and with putting the reed on. Make sure you get someone to teach you how to put on the reed, because from what I've heard, if you put it on wrong they split REALLY fast, and that's bad 'cause they're so expensive. -_-;; But yeah. If there's anything else you want to know, ask, and I'll answer to the best of my abilities - I've only been playing sax ten months, so.... ^^;; Gotta get ready to go... see ya!

yo2yo2kid Saxophones are the coolest! Yes. Yes they are. xp What's especially cool is that for pep band, we might be playing this piece that only has jazz parts, so there's no flute or clarinet parts. Which means that if we play it, they have to do something choreographed. xd I turned to my friend and was like, "I'm SO glad I'm not playing flute for pep band." XDD

I'm an Alto Saxophone player....but I've played the tenor and the clarinet!! Most of my friends that play sax play alto. They're neat. 3nodding I like tenor, though. Not my tenor, because it really belongs to the school and it's crappy and it sucks. But tenors in general. Even though I look ridiculous carrying it around because I'm tiny. XDD

She can't play it in band though, because there's never any soprano parts in band. How sad for her. ;_; She did play it once for a song though. It was NEAT. XDD

It was used before I got it (goes with the school's tenor). x_x But there's not a lot I can do about it - we don't have money to get a new one. *is broke*

A whole buncha my friends play the Alto. ^^ It's a cool instrument; I'm forcing my brother to play it this year. sweatdrop
