true, i'm not a teen. i just turned 22 april 9th ^^
but ya. it's cool ^^ tho not exacly like a manga. i wish xd
if i was lively here like in a manga, i'd have a super cool tokyo highrise
in the middle of the city and have a cute shiny bike so i wouldn't have to
ride the cramped train every day, and i'd have spiffy magical girl powers
and a super cool spiffy hotie boyfriend whee xd

so i went to the Meiji Jingu shrine in Harajuku Tokyo on May 3rd and it
just happend to be the Spring Grand Festival ^^
There was some kind of ceremony going on in the main
shrine with the shrine people all dressed up
in cool tradtional...um whatever you call it ^^;
it looks like something out of the Heian Period like something
Genji would wear for a day of gossip and Go at court^^
i like their hats with the little dealybob things on top. ^^
User Image

User Imageyou work that hat!
XD i want one ^^

then after the ceremony was a traditional Dancing
with music. ^^ that was cool. i like tradtional
Japanese music with the shamiesens an dthe chours
and the drum guys. it's a very unique sound ne. ^^

also there was like 6 weddings that day, so there
where lots of the wedding prosetionals with the
pirest and miko and the bride and groom in there tradtional

Did you also go to Korakuen? I absolutly adore it! (and it's free for exchange students whee )

I went inside. theres a gift shop, a restarant, or maybe it was just a little cafe
a short Musashi skit, and when i was there, there was a "Musashi: the TV drama" exibit but that was two years ago. i don't know if the Musashi: the TV drama is still on...
but its cool to go up to the top. you get a close up lookat the cool gold carp figures

Korakuen? is that the gardens by the castle? i went there. tho we didn't
get in free, i wasn't an exchange student. it was school organized trip to japan, but it wasn't like an exchange program or anything

Tsuki-chan! I go to Meiji Jingu frequently! It's such a cool (as in temperature-wise) and peaceful spot. Who would imagine a place like that is in Tokyo!? blaugh

One of my American friends got married there. She used her own hair to do that hair style (with a lot of extensions) instead of wearing a wig, and she looked much better than if she had worn a wig!

I love Meji Jingu too ^^ it think it's my fav Shrine so far.
i also like the little mini shrines you run into in the middle of the city.
you're just walking around srounded by skyscrapers and shops and such
then you turn the corner and there's this small quante little shrine. ^^
and your plesantly surpersed to see it, like unexpectaly bumping into a
firend. ^^ your like "oh, how nice to run into you here ^^, tho i'm in a terribile rush,
it was nice seeing you, maybe when i have more time we can visit later. ja ne~"
then you plunge back into the chaos of the city ^^

aw, your freind's so lucky to get married in such a great shrine like that ^^ it's so romantic 3nodding
tho does it cost alot to get married there?
i wanna Japanese wedding too whee
heh, that is if i decide i wanna get married ^^
