Blu and Pichu got up from the floor. Spark jumped and climbed back onto Blu's head.
The sun shone brightly as if a pokemon had done Sunny Day as the two friends started to go up the path that led to the forest before Goldenrod City.
After a few hours of trecking through what seemed like a never-ending forest, the duo stopped and sat in the grass as a gentle breeze made the tree leaves and the seedots sway in the wind. The two looked up and saw a family of Hoppip floating with the breeze. Everything was in balance.
"Y'know, I used to sit in grass like this and wait for a pokemon to come out in Violet City. It was always calm to hear the sound of nature." Ace said as he laid down, staring at the blue sky.
"You are really insightful and wise for a person of 18." Blu said as he too, laid on his back and Pichu slowly slid from his head, curling into a ball as it hit the ground softly, snoozing.

Dante glanced over just in time to See Meowth bite the Diglett, hard. He winced slightly in sympathy even if it was for the other teams pokemon as Meowth's claws dug into it as the pokemon tried to pry him off. Meowth for his part held on tight as the Diglett moved around. It was kinda like watching someone ride a bull he thought bemusedly.
His attention was taken from Meowth when he heard a loud smash coming from the area Shiva was battling with the Geodude. The small ice pokemon was rolling back before going and slamming into the Geodude who was defending itself. Both of them were taking slight damage from the enslaught but nothing to bad. Frowning Dante ordered Shiva to stop the attack which she did. "Shiva, when the gaurd drops hit it with a water gun attack!" Dante ordered.

"Now!" Seth shouted as Grovyle lauched his Leaf Blade at Snorlax. Aero slammed into it's back causing it to trip and fall onto Serenade's stomach. "Rollout!" Seth shouted.
"No! Poliwhirl punch that thing!" the girl screeched as her Grovyle was rolled to the floor. It got up, rather weak now and launched some seeds onto Serenade. Poliwhirl charged up and launched the punch at him, but Serenade seemed to only absord the attack, only slightly phased.
"I never knew his weight would actaully be good for something," she muttered under his breath. "Aero, another Slam!"
"I don't think so! Ice Beam the two of them!" the girl shouted.

Ace opened his eyes to see a Spearow at his head.
"Wow. A spearow." He said, acidentally scarring the bird pokemon.
The Spearow began to Peck and peck at Ace. He pulled out his pokeball. "Go Natu!"
Natu emerged from the pokeball, instantly getting tackled by the spearow.
Blu and Pichu awoke and saw the battle.
"Natu use peck!" Ace called.
Spearow charged for another tackle as the Natu jumped and hit its back with a peck.
Spearow and Natu were sent in different directions. Spearow quickly got back up and fluttered its wings.
Natu layed on the ground for a few seconds and slowly started to get up.
THe Spearow charged at the Natu from behind.
"Natu, Look out!"
Natu turned as the spearow was right on him. Natu yelled and a dark auroa sprouted from its eyes and knocked the spearow into the brush, fleeing.
"Natu. What was..."
"That was an excellent Night Shade. Compared to my brother's Murkrow its a powerful one."
"Natu, come here." Ace said as Natu jumped to him. Ace pulled out a super potion from his pack and used it on Natu. "You did good. Now rest." He said as he recalled Natu back to the pokeball.
"Ace, at this rate we will get to Goldenrod tomorow. Might as well get some rest." Blu said as Ace noticed he already had his sleeping bag and a fire going.
"Rest sounds good." Ace said as he pulled out his sleeping bag.

Key walked through the crowd of people as he took a short view of the sea. While walking he overheard a girl talking about a psychic pokemon gym leaderin Saffron City.
"Hmm, Psychic pokemon, interesting, but we need to focus on training for the festival, not gym badges." Key said as he glanced at Ty giving him a confused look. "Wait, what am I talking about, we need any fighting we can find, plus Saffron can't be that far away." he stated as he grabbed a map from a stand.
The two wanderers continued traveling as they followed a sign with "Saffron City" printed on it. They were now on their way to fight the Saffron City Gym Leader, Sabrina.

As he walked he heard shouts of anger and numerous items dropping to the ground. This sound was followed by a couple of people falling to the ground and raising their fists. This incident was caused by a Sneasel leaping into the path of Key and Ty with a bag in his hand.
"Get that Sneasel!" said an old man stumbling up the stairs. Key gave a look at the man and then the bag. "What's a Sneasel doing around here." Key said as he stared at it. Before Key could say another word the Sneasel dived at the Tyrogue slashing it in the face.
Ty got up with an angry face. "That was cheap, Ty let's do some damage!" Key said in a burst of rage. "Ty jab attack it now!" Key stated as the Tyrogue quickly dashed toward the Sneasel. The battle was on.

The Tyrogue swung at the Sneasel barely missing it. "I hate those things." Key said as he watched the sneasel hop around. The Tyrogue gave a long howl as the Sneasel responded with an apple toss towards Ty.
"Ty let's finish this quick alright!" Key said to the Tyrogue while it ignored the apple bouncing off it's head. Key crouched down next to the Tyrogue and whispered in his ear, "Alright, heres the plan, you pretend to be unconscious when you miss him with an attack okay." he said hoping the plan would be as easy as it sounded.
Ty immediately ran towards the Sneasel as it unsurprisingly leaped out of the way sending the Tyrogue into the fruit stand. It layed motionless in a pile of fruit as Key stood with a slight smile on his face.
With a sinister smirk, the Sneasel walked towards Key holding out it's claws. "This is a pretty feisty Sneasel" he said as he watched Ty run towards Sneasel from behind it. As the Sneasel grew closer he was speared in the back by the Tyrogue sending it past Key.
"Nice!" Key said as the Sneasel went unconscious. The old man came running towards it "Finally, my grandson needs to keep control of that thing!" he said while picking up the bag and the Sneasel. "Uh, your welcome?" Key said as the old man walked away. Key patted Ty on the back and looked towards the path which they were to advance in, "That was just a warmup." Key said with a smile.

"Okay guys, do your stuff," Jaeshan said, and while Fang steadied Ryka under the glare of Kasiya, Weepinbell pulled the girl to safety, and the group of them sat, staring down into the hole.
"Now what do we do?" Kasiya asked, ducking as Fang made a lunge for her head again. "You bird-brain!" she shouted as she raised his Pokeball and recalled him. She wondered if Fang really thought he was a bird at times.
"Well, first of all I'd like to get out of this cave," Jaeshan said, standing up. He recalled Weepinbell, looking around to see that Mightyena, Nidoking, Growly, and Ariel were all poised by the cave entrance, none of them wanting to go inside. He stood up and walked towards them, and was greeted by a happy yip from Mightyena. He pet the Pokemon gently, and smiled at Nidoking, who gave a pleased sounding growl in reply.
"Yeah. Out of the cave would be nice," Kasiya said, remembering the time she'd plummeted through the floor and broke her leg. She shuddered. "Come on, Shocker, Butterfree. You guys don't want to be left behind, right?" she said, winking at Ryka as she held out a hand to help her up. Shocker climbed up onto her shoulder again, the Raichu's long tail wrapped around her upper body for support.

Poliwhirl began to use his Ice Beam, switching his targets from Aero to Serenade. Not much damage was taken by Serenade thanks to his Thick Fat ability. Aero, however, was struck and damaged quite a bit.
"Finish it off with Dragon Breath!" Seth shouted. Aero unleased the fearsome attack on to the Poliwhirl, making mincemeat of it in second. The girl growled and with drew it. "Go Swellow!" The girl shouted as she threw a Pokeball out onto the field.
"Looks like you have a Flying Pokemon to take down Aero!" Seth said. "Get with your Dragonbreath!"
Grovyle was slowly regain his life energy thanks to the Leech Seed that was attached to Serenade. "Smash it with a Body Slam!" Seth directed.

Blitz jumped over the Jaeshan's shoulder when Shocker climbed onto Kasiya's. He looked at Jaeshan and smiled, happy to still have a shoulder to stay on.
As Ryka was pulled up by Weepingbell, with Fang securing her back, she felt safe. It might have been because of the Pokemon, with Kasiya sitting at the top of the hole, or it might have been the mural, which gave Ryka a calming feeling inside. When she reached the top, she grabbed Kasiya's hand and finally got up to the cave again. "Yeah, that would be nice. I really don't want to fall in any holes again." Ryka said with a laugh. Although that one was really interesting.. We HAVE to come back some other time. She thought as they all reached the entrance of the cave. Blitz immediately jumped onto her shoudler and licked her cheek. "Hey there Blitz." Ryka said, petting his head.

Shive rolled to the other side of the arena and dropped the protective ice surrounding her body. The Geodude curiose as to why the attacks stopped put its arms down for a minute and looked at Shiva curiosly. Taking that as her cue Shiva took a deep breath rolling back slighlty as she did befor leaning forward a large beam of multicolored light coming from her mouth. What ever it was that was most certiantly not Water Gun. The attack hit the Geodude hard sending it flying out of the arena and knocking it out. Dante grinned and thought to himself. 'One down one more to go.'
Meowth was still hanging onto the Diglett but it could be seen that he was just about to get bucked off. "Meowth! Let go off Diglett now!" He called out. Upon hearing this releaving news Meowth let go jumping back and landing closer to Dante.
"You so owe me some gum after this." Meowth said glaring somewhat good naturedly at Dante.
"Yeah I know. I have some in my bag so as soon as the battle is over." He said all the while watching the Diglett. "Shiva. Can you do that Attack again only on the Diglett this time?" He asked curiosly.
Shiva barked and with a determined look took another deep breath and let fly the colorful beam hitting the Diglett right in the face causing it to faint. Aperently the attack worked really well against rock pokemon.
"Wow that was one nice Aureara Beam (sp?)" Meowth comented with a whistle.
"Huh so thats what its called." Dante said off handedly as he shook the Hiker and Youngsters hands. And they walked into the larger part of the Gym the leader was coming up to them now.

((Aurora Beam. It's a tricky stupid word to spell. Oh and just so you know, Ice moves are super effective against ground types, but not rock. Nobody's saying it still won't do a lot of damage though xD)) Kasiya looked back over her shoulder as they exited the cave. What could this mean? she thought, staring into the darkness. There's something special about that mural. Someone would have to know something about it.
"Rai...raichu?" Kasiya felt a gentle tap on her cheek, and turned her head. Shocker was looking at her sideways, wondering what could be wrong.
"Let's get going," she chuckled. "We need to get Seto healed."
"Raichuu!" the Raichu cried happily, temporarily forgetting her own troubles. I'm stronger now, the Raichu thought. All that is going to change!

((Rock types and their lousy special defence. Get 'em, Shiva!! ))
Keegan gave a sigh as he released his two tame Pokemon. Electrike was still snoozing from the Sleep Powder, and Vulpix thought it would be a fun game to try to awaken the Lightning Pokemon. He circled him, wondering how soundly asleep he really was.
"What's up with this Ekans anyways?" Keegan asked nobody in particular, holding up his Pokeball and eyeing it. "It seemed like it was berserk or something." He tossed it up, then caught it, his thoughts muddled and busy. "And just what was that Pokemon? I sure wish I had one of them fancy Pokedex things."
Keegan's thoughts were interrupted by a howl from Electrike. It seemed that Vulpix had breathed Embers on its rear end, awaking him instantly. The small green Pokemon ran around in circles, smoke trailing from it as Vulpix rolled around in the grass, laughing.
"Great," Keegan said, rolling his eyes. "Vulpix, save the flames for opponents...." his eyes lit up as an idea sprung to mind.

Dante and Meowth stopped talking when the Gym Leader stood in front of them. "Ah, hello Leader Roxanne." Dante said unsure as to what to say. However anything else he was about to say was cut off by a loud squeil from Roxanne.
"Oh my gosh! How cute is that Meowth!" She exclaimed picking up the startled pokemon. "Arn't you just the cutest little thing? I dont see many Meowth's here very often." She exclaimed hugging the cat pokemon
"I bet you dont. And just your luck that I happen to be the greatest Meowth ever." Meowth bragged sending a smug look Dante's way who just rolled his eyes.
"Thats nice and all Roxanne but I came here to challange you to a battle. You can play with Meowth after if you want." Dante sudgested.
Roxanne looked slightly disapointed but she set Meowth down. "Actually I have a date in a half an hour. How about we make this battle quick." She sudjested as she walked to one side of the battle arena.
Dante nodded making his way to the other side. "All right then. What are the conditions?"
"One pokemon each, you win you get the badge." She said sternly looking like the gym leader she was as she reached for her pokeball.
The ref appeared at the side and raised his flags. "All right. A one on one battle between Leader Roxanne and Challanger Dante." He said. "Match start." He lowered both flags signiling the start of the battle.
