Hyperion Slave I don't mind the smut level in the Merry books, because as it's been pointed out, that's how the series started. Merry is supposed to be a sexual person, unlike Anita who spent the first few books as a little bit of a prude. Of all the Queen's Men, I like Doyle the most. He's so much more interesting, and he doesn't get all angsty and pouty like Frost. I like Rhys as well and how much more he takes interest in somewhat modern things. And Sholto; I was hoping for something between him and Merry, too. Although he did turn up toward the end of Seduced by Moonlight, so he'll probably factor into the next book. I forgot all about Sholto. I was hoping to see more of him as well so I am now excited (once again) about Seduced by Moonlight. Rhys is also kinda cute. I like those classic Rhys moments that include things like bodies and scaring humans.

I like how Laurel K manages to intertwine mythology into her works so well. I find it funny remembering all the facts she throws at us in the books. The Merry Gentry series is great. Though I sometimes find it a little annoying that everyone is beautiful, but with their difference in character and abilities makes me over look that. ^^

I like that there are some very ugly characters in the unseelie guild. Of course most of them are not the main characters, except of course the goblins are in it quite a bit.

I like Frost and Darkness mostly. I mean besides Merry. 3nodding I love that series a lot but it still needs some time before I get permently attached to the characters.

biggrin Merry Gentry! Awesome series. Love it to death! ALL the men in there are exquisite and SO totally sexy. xd Fave men are: Frost, Rhys, and Nicca. Nicca reminds me of Nathaniel. While Rhys kind've reminds me of Asher. And Frost...nobody from AB. *LOL* Merry though...she's WAY more into sex than Anita. But of course for Merry she's got a reason to. I've only read the first two so far...I desperately want to read Seduced by Moonlight...cuz I want to know who/if she chooses. *crosses fingers for Frost* I LOVE Frost! You guys may already know this, but I didn't. I just saw on the official LKH website in her blog that the title for the next Merry book is A STROKE OF MIDNIGHT. I am glad that each time we are desperately waiting for a new Anita book, we can read Merry. And while we are waiting for the new Merry book, we can re-read Anita. smile

My favourites are Doyle, Sholto, and Rhys. ^^ I was really glad that a pronunciation guide was included with the latest book, because I don't know about you guys, but I find alot of Gaelic things hard to say. And I read alot of books with Irish myth. ^^;;; In fact, when I saw some of the names, the old names, I had to put my book down, from shock. In fact, I think my reaction for one of them was "BAH! EVIL!", and I almost threw the book across the room. ^^; It's fun when you recognize things.
That said, I was really sad when Sholto didn't go with Merry in the first book. I really hope to see more of him. ^^

my favortie characters are sholto, frost, and sage!! Sage is an a** but pretty cool. Umm whats up wiht Nicca he doesn't do anything!! But i thought it was cool and all how he got wings. blaugh eek But I love frost and his eyes there so cool wiht hte snow falling in them!!And sholto becasue he'd just ******** awesome lord od all the creepy things lol. great s**t!! whee

I just got introduced to these books... three days ago. i freaked, I love them. Faerie politics has become one of my favourite things to read about, lol! I just ordered Seduced by Moonlight from B&N.com, a used copy, so i'm getting it for like, 12 bucks. xp I wish something had happened with Sholto too... Right now? I'm torn between Frost and Doyle... *sigh* if only we were all so lucky to have glorious sex with that many BEAUTIFUL men, on a mandatory basis... She makes me jealous. wink

I just know she will eventually get to kick Cel's a**!!! I loved it when she cornered Andias into locking Cel away with Branwyn's (sp?) tears on him! That was fabulous!!!
