That's generally how I view it, and I also have my own theory that blood is a less efficient way of gathering energy, so there tend to be more psy than blood vampires. I've had experience with an psy vampire and she did actually take blood at one point when she was unable to feed psychically, so that's where that theory comes from on my part (I've also since had a falling out with this person partly because she nearly killed me when she needed energy).

I believe in both sang and psi vampires, and I have my reasoning behind it, but I'd rather not share it with people I don't know.

I agree with you. I think that some people can 'drain' others of energy. I probably does have something to do with a higher percentage of brainpower being used.

Could also be put down to something else like a person's aura. A power aura might pull others into it.

On the psy-vamp/psi-vamp difference:

All vamps are psychic, it's pretty much a prerequisite. Psychic vampire was probably the original term, but as the term psi became more popular, it was shortened to "psi-vamp". Some psionics paths distinguish between psi energy and other subtle energy types, using 'psi' to refer exclusively to auric energy. Thus, to them a psi-vamp is a psychic vampire who takes auric energy from others. But some psychic vampires take prana/core energy, rather than auric energy. So, that makes psi-vamps a subclass of psychic vampire. "Psy-vamp" is simply a shorter version of psychic vampire which doesn't specify which type of energy is needed.

In short, for many groups, the terms "psychic vampire", "psi-vamp", and "psy-vamp" are synonomous--for others, a psi-vamp is a specific subclass of psychic vampire.

i am no good at explaining in full out detail myself, but in a nutshell i am a very rare person to find.

i have always had something wrong with me, i still don't like using labels for myself, but for others i shall.

i am what people call a psychic vampire. i have been all my life, of course i wasn't awakened to my true self until my teens.

when i was little and my mom would throw little slumber parties for me, my friends would come over, there was always one girl that left earlier than the others and the next day when they all left i would cry not knowing exactly what for i just would.

and during the summer of every year i have been alive i become manicly depressed, clawing at the walls of my mind snapping, at my brother and mother our house has never been peaceful during the summer, for i needed arguements it was the only way to keep me healthy enough to get out of bed. anger is an emotion i feed off of more than others, because i am not nessecarily hurting the one i am feeding off of, it's excess energy even though i caused it. anger is my favorite candy.

so when i was old enough to actually go to the mall it became my new favorite place. because when there i could just brush someone and get my energy that way

now you must not take me as an evil person because i am not, i have been through many lives, i am an old soul. i am the guardian of a whole lot of people and i am a protector of even more, i have been balancing my good doings and my evil ways ever since i was formed from the cosmic. i am the leader of a coven of 31 people and have been in this coven for 8 years, i don't use this energy to feed me what we do goes out into the universe, not into me. even though i have thought about the sensation that much energy would do for me....

i have been living a very peacefull life for the past 4 years when i harnessed this ability that rules my life. if i deny it feeding for one day it will give me a week of hell. between college and my job i am doing well.

which brings me to saying i am of chaoti practice which would make since right? i found this way of paganism, it intrigued me way before i was awakened. 4 years before.

i know a lot about everything that is discussed here i have other friends who are psi vamps and psy vamps and even some sang vamps. of course some think they are and then there are others who really are, and some who don't know they are and then there are the ones who do and deny it and those who know and embrace it.

we have sit downs and psychic sparring, i have recently come to terms with ones who know and embrace it have a tendency to take on their totem animal's characteristics and ways when hunting or sparring. it is intriguing to take on when the oppenent takes bear and yours is panther.

oh by the way psychic vampirism is an energy low, it is my aura with a whole in it and your aura doesn't so i take energy from yours to keep mine from getting to low that i become ill, yours will replentish itself easily but mine can't do it as effectively. so some would say it is a parassitic thing.

it is true that there are people who make more energy than they can use, these people are the ones i hunt. because i am not harming them. they are like generators for me.

yes this is true that most who claim to be vamps of any sort are teens and they will grow out of it. but have you ever been physically close to another? in public or private?

What do you mean by close? Intimate? Or just in the same room/area?

In that case it would be neither, as far as I know. Supposedly we have "vampdar" which allows us to pick out others of our kind. I get vibes from people sometimes, but no one has ever confirmed with me that they were a vampire.
