As they were close to the clearing, Ouranos let the pup down so that he could answer his question, mildly amused by his inability to say Ouranos' name. "Toys?" he thought of what he had enjoyed when he was young. He had mostly played with other pups and enjoyed grappling the odd twig, tail or small insect. Toys were mostly what you made of the things around you. "You might be able to find something." he finally answered.
As he had been unable to shake whilst he carried the pup he had become truly sodden. He now shook, scattering water droplets all over but feeling an awful lot better. As they walked into the clearing he raised his head to sniff. He could not smell the female wolf but could still smell the meat which they had saved after the last kill.
The clearing was reasonably wide, had a stream running along to one side and a large rocky ovehang to the other. A short way from the overhang, under some thick bushes, was the deer carcass. He nudged the little male lightly towards the meat.
Looking toward Persephone, still in Zag's jaws, he warned them both. "Don't eat too quickly... you'll be sick. Have a little, then a drink..." he turned back to Gavan, a wolfish grin on his lips "then we'll see about finding some toys, eh?". He sounded somewhat like his own mother had used to, he mused, not sure wether or not to be bothered by that.

As Ouranos had done with Gavan, Zagreus gently placed Persephone down on the ground. He too was now absolutely soaked with water. At least now they were near the overhang, which meant that they could get some shelter from the unrelenting rain.
Giving Ouranos an amused look as he gave the pups advice, he then gave himself a good shake before padding over to the rock face.
Persephone could smell the meat, and it practically made her mouth water. She was even hungrier than she had thought she was. It was going to be hard to do as Ouranos said. Her little stomach gave a loud growl, and she made her way soggily over to the remains of the deer. Poking her muzzle into the bloodied carcass, she began to worry at it, grateful to finally have something to eat.

Ouranos was contended later, as they all sat under the overhang in each others warmth. Calliope had been decidedly quiet when she returned and had not given the pups more than a glance. She seemed to him as if she might have had something to say but was biting it back. It worked well for him, anyway... The pups, it seemed, could stay here.
He had explained to Gavan that the pup had eaten deer and what a dear was and what, indeed, one would have to do to have a chance bringing down such prey. He enjoyed giving these small lessons and thought he noticed Persephone listening in too.
The rain slowed, stopped. The night sky was clear. Now the little group under the overhang numbered five... practically a pack. Ouranos bit back the will to howl into the night and proclaim this little space as 'theirs'.
He rested.
