Marissa's heart bumped excitedly against her chest as it always did when a trader came around. She'd heard word that it was a jewlery trader, as well, and she delighted. She hadn't forgotten the ancient, dusty tome that waited in her wagon, and she was in the market for gold.

She noticed the three new caravan members. Wondering how heavy their purses were, she approached them. Reaching into her hip-purse with a smile and a word of welcome, she gave DeArca, Irina, and Altaria 10 couplets each before making her way to the trader.

She approached the table, smiling giddily at the wares. She was gald Kale was napping in the wagon, so he didn't have to see his mother acting so folly. A female in every respect, Marissa was partial to beautiful trinkets. She fawned over the merchandise.

Two pieces of gold caught her eye. The necklace, a delicate beauty with a rose attached, entranced her for it's craftsmanship and lovliness. The gold ring was nice as well, and it's price tag intrigued her. She picked up both items and turned to the burly man behind the table.

"Sir, could you tell a lady about these?"

"The pendant was made by my mother. It's made from a very fine gold that's found deep within the mountains." He did not tell her that female Gelm can withstand the deeper depths- it was one of those unsaid, almost embarassing things for male Gelm, that their women were stockier and more suited to their work than they. "And the ring... it's Darkheart Gold. This one isn't very old- see, only a few spots have shown through with the black... as time goes on, and it's exposed to more dark magic, it will get darker. ...It absorbs black magic, protects. But I can't sell it for couplets. I'd be cursed."

Anezka smiled as the wagons all pulled to a stop, knowing that it meant there was a trader. She smiled at Leshya'e and then climbed forward from her seat to sit upon Alexander's back. Making sure she had her pouch of couplets, Leshya'e made her way to the trader. The first thing to catch her eye were the sandals, since they looked just the right size for her Anezka.
She had wanted Ani to start wearing some sort of footwear, and if she bought these there would be no possibility of Ani refusing. Bowing her head to Lofbross and the others that were looking at his items, she went to have a closer look at the jeweled sandals.

Veshengo walked casually up to the stall, standing a few feet from Marissa, but remaining inconspicuous. He spotted what she was looking at and reached into his pocket, counting his couplets and preparing himself to step forward and pay for the lovely necklace if she indeed decided she wanted it.

Lof ignored the male gypsy, turning instead to the woman who peered at the sandals.

"I made those myself. They can withstand any wear and tear, any terrain. And the jewels I used are ones that are said to entice faes and other faeries."

Caroline makes a Scottish-sounding noise in her throat that doubts the veracity of his statement, but she curtsies politely and goes on her way, still pleased with her new trinket.

"They are very lovely, and will come to very good use..." She smiled and nodded her head, then tilted it slightly and glanced at the rest of the jewelry. She thought a bit as she reached down and picked up a ring and a pair of earrings, "What of these? Is there anything to be said of these pieces?" [the silver bond ring and the bloodstone earrings]

The word protection rang in Marissa's mind. She thought of her son, so peacefully asleep back in the wagon. Yet...she could think of nothing to trade with the man. Painedly, she asked, "And what, exactly, would you be willing to trade it for?" She bit her lip, racking her mind for anything of worth that she owned. There wasn't much.

And still, she marveled at the rose neckalce. "It's beautiful," she muttered. "Perhaps...if my purse was heavier," she sighed apologetically.

Veshengo smiled and stepped forward, glad to have the chance to do something kind for the lovely gypsy he had become so infatuated with. "That's a lovely necklace...not as lovely as you, Miss, if I may be so bold to say so" He bowed his head to her, then reached into his pouch and counted out the gold. Handing the couplets to Lofbross, he took the necklace and stepped behind Marissa to latch it to her neck. It took all his self-control to not lean in and smell her neck or give her a kiss, but he managed to behave like a gentleman.

"The bond ring there- the silver one- it's just a nice trinket until you find a second bond ring of any nature. If you find another silver, then you and whoever wears it will know where you are, in a flash- will be able to sense some danger about for the other. And... if you find a gold bond and pair it.. well... I can't remember what right happens." He shrugged. "And the earrings- bloodstones are notorious for summoning the dark river fae. But it could be just a legend."

Lof lowered his voice. "Anything, lass. The more innocent the better. To protect me from the curse of it. Have you any toys, any small thing for children? That would suffice."

(((Awwww... ^_^))

Lof took the couplets, ignoring the display.

DeArca stopped his wagon, wanting to see what this strange man had to offer, immediately picking up the wood pendant he saw, he looked to the trader. "What is this?" he asked.

Lofbross narrowed his eyes at the object, then said brusquely, "It brings peace and unity to certain elements. Earth, mostly, and wood."
"Hmm....I think it would be nice for Ash...but nah! I want to save my money...sorry, friend." He said, putting the item down, returning to his wagon to join the caravan.

A now older Annjette and Voltaire enter the scene, the swan-girl practically dragging her guardian with one hand while holding a book of some sort in another. Her cape flowing about her ankles.

Voltaire chuckled a bit good naturedly as he stumbled along, "Slow down, dear. I can only walk so fast."

She glanced back at her father a small blush crept over her face as she released him and moved toward the wares being sold, while gracing the trader with a sweet smile as a greeting.

The half-elf stepped up behind his daughter and peered over her shoulder at the jewelery and such, "Something catch your interest, Jette?"

Annjette seemed too shy to speak in front of the trader and merely pointed out the earrings and the woodland heart pendant.

Lof looked at the father of the Fortunette- he had never seen one in person before, but knew enough about these strange children of the gypsies not to care much for staring.

"The earrings are bloodstone. It's said they can summon dark river fae. May be a legend. The woodland heart- it's for soothing earth and wood elements, mostly. But in any case- any of my wares are a good investment for trade. The Lowland-Gelm are known for their jewelry. You'll not find it's equal on this continent."

Voltaire glanced at Lof and nodded slightly with a small smile, "My daughter needs but to chose which she likes best, and we shall pay and be out of your way." The half-elf seemed open enough, but now would not be a time for talking since they were looking to leave the area soon.

Annjette frowned a bit before softly speaking to her father, "I like the earrings best, but someone seems interested as well..It wouldn't be right of me to take something they desire for my own selfish wants..."

Voltaire glanced toward Lesh and then back to Annjette and then addressed Lof, "Kind sir, I'd like to buy those earrings for my daughter if the other young lady doesn't desire them." It was the closest solution he could think of at the moment.
