Envy is male! And I am deeply miffed at Funimation for given him a feminine voice when he CLEARLY has a male voice in the Japanese version! I mean, even in some Japanese animes guys have feminine voices (ex. Yuki from Fruits Basket and etc.), but Envy doesn't!
...Okay...my rant is over. I heart Envy.
EDIT: I just looked up the Japanese voice actor for Envy. Yeah...she sounds like a guy. redface Eh-heh...still, she did a good job. Could have fooled me.

Not gloating or anything(I really hate my voice)But when I order Pizza or Talk on the Phone..... scream They all say "Yes mam?".I'm A guy for crying out loud!!.... its just that.....My voice hasnt Deepend yet...Thats all... stare I'll Kill that pizza Guy...

Technically the directors of the anime wanted to make the audience question that about Envy. The homunculi are technically not supposed to have genders since they aren't human. Envy has female voice actress in the japanese version as well. So they kind of leave it vague. Or at least that's what Travis told me (he has seen the whole thing and is also sort of baffled by it. Quote: "Envy is definatly a weird character". lol)
But if you go before he died he was a boy. As you get to see his true form at the end. <--- For that reason and the fact that he is built like a guy, that is what I see him as... a male. 3nodding

He's a guy, end of story. You know anime, they tend to make some characters look girly. Like, Mikagemi from Flames of Recca, he looked girly, same to Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin...

A guy. I took me a second look, but the build is definently that of a guy. The sholder width, the mouth is also larger, and the way he stands. There are distinct diffeneces from that of a girl... Yes, I was confused for a short while. xp
(edit) Here's some more: The size of the detiods, how the joints come to more of a point (you don't see this on females), size of the eyes. You get my point. xd Envy is a guy. 3nodding
