Shetan heard the other speak as he came down and let his hooves land just in front of the other's side, scraping them slightly on the skin, just barely missing his intended target. Shetan was covered in a white lather, sides heaving as his eyes still blazed. "And why should should I let you live? So you may come back to challenge me again when at full health?" he snarled in a vicious tone, hatred and contempt clearly ringing in his voice.

Rahu got up and stood there covered in sweat and had a little blood on his back. He snarled right back at the stallion. “No I admit my defeat and won’t attempt another challenge. You are the better one.” Breathing heavily he wondered what this stallion might do next. He stays on guard and serious did not plan to challenge this one again.

Shetan eyed the other stallion, not sure if he meant what he said but he would be ready if he did decide to challenge again. For now, he had won and was the king so to speak. The victor in this battle. "I should hope you'd be wise enough not to try again." he hissed out the words as he spoke. "And to whom am I speaking? or do you even have a name?" The blaze in his eyes began to dim and his breathing slowly returned to normal. The light breeze caught his mane and blew it around like a black flame, greedily licking at logs on a campfire.

Rahu eyed the stallion for a moment. “Oh trust me I not stupid like most to ever challenge you again. And I’m called Rahu,” flicking his tail, he back hurt quite a bit but he continued to ignore it. “And what might your name be. I’m sure you have one.” he snorted softly and the breeze that went by felt good. This stallion in his eyes had earned his respect in more ways than just beating him down in a fight.

Shetan nodded his head to the other who seemed to gracefully accept his defeat. "I am Shetan. I'm glad to hear you aren't quite so stupid. " Shetan was arrogant, but he felt he was in his right to be so. He was very prideful and stood tall, his giant frame slightly towering over Rahu. He was a few hands taller. His muscles twitched as sweat rolled off his flanks. He briefly tended to his wound, licking it clean. That was gonna leave a scar.Rahu had certainly left his mark on him. He would not forget him anytime soon. "Very few give me a fight worthy of respect. You have done better then any others that have met the challenge. Mind you, you are still alive to talk about it, unlike them." He motioned for Rahu to follow and headed towards the water for a drink.

Rahu could tell Shetan was being arrogant but he knew he had the right to be in being the winner of the fight. “ well you’re the first to ever beat me in a fight and I can see I am quite lucky indeed to have made it through that fight.” His back twitched from where he had been hit. Noticing Shetan motioned for him to follow him. He obediently followed Shetan and was the first time he never minded someone else actually beating him and being arrogant about it. flicking his tail as he walked, he knew there would most likey be a mark on his back from that fight for now on.

Shetan snorted. "The first? well I suppose thats no surprise, you put up a good fight. That just means there is no one left that can give me a good challenge. " He smirked, knowing he had beaten and put a prideful stallion in his place. He wondered if others feared Rahu. They should really if he had never been defeated before. Soon they would know his name and he would be a king in his own right. If there was a herd he would have been leading it. But alas not many herds existed anymore. "Tell me what are the others like around here? I'm sure not many are like you." He lowered his head taking a long drink to quench his thirst, ears flicking back to listen for Rahu's reply.

Rahu smirked. “I suppose you may find someone but I highly doubt it.” As Shetan asked how others where like around here. So he pondered a moment to think of what to say. “Well they are defiantly different than you or I. I doubt any would rise to a challenge of a fight like you or I would or even challenge anyone for that matter. Most just go about being in herds, or seek out mates. Quite dull and boring if you ask me.” Getting his own drink, he made sure he heard Shetan’s response.

Shetan raised his head, water droplets falling from his wet muzzle. His thirst was satisified and he smirked slightly in a devlish manner. "Herds? Do they have leaders or those that challenge for leadership? If they cannot rise to a challenge they are not fit to lead herds. I imagine most of them are pathetic stallions. and the mares....what of them? Do they simply follow a lead or are some stronger willed?" He shook his head, his mane falling into his face. "mates..heh...one stallion should lead a herd and be the onl one mating. That is how it was in days of old. Weed out the weak and breed stronger offspring." His eyes flashed in annoyance, but not at Rahu. It was at the notion of lovesick weak stallions.

Rahu listened to Shetan as he talked and lifted his head to respond when he was done. “I highly doubt any of the herds have been challenged for leadership. I do have to say two for the herds I know some are in are actually quite strong.” He then snorted as he asked about the mares. “I have only met a few who are strong willed. And only one who saw me different but now that’s all over now. She has moved on and so have I and I learned my lesson.” he said bitterly and snorted again.

Shetan snorted, his curiousity peaked. Rahu...let a mare to his heart? well it was bound to happen to any stallion. " Never challenegd you say? well, I jsut might have to take a challenge to them for some fun. Leadership should always be tested and challenegd so the herd remains strong, with a strong leader." Shetan stomped the ground a moment, thinking about what he wanted to do next. His legs did need a good stretch. He wondered if Rahu liked to run at all. "Well at elast some mares are still strong enough to bring up their foals as strong as they are. This one..what was she like....... such a shame its over now. If I did not know better, I'd have sworn you may have loved her. Such bitterness...Its such a pity " He teased a bit to see if he could get him riled...that would provide a good mindset for a challenge race.

Rahu smirked at Shetan. “I have to agree there. It’s always fun to go and test anyone.” He then snorted and was a little riled at having to talk about Aruna. “Well since you asked I guess you can say she was strong willed, was able to handle her self quite well even around me. I have to admit now that I did but I could never love her back.” He then smirked and had a cunning look on his face. “ if your trying to rile me up for a reason you might as well say why.” He actualy loved a good run and was always one to go all out in a race.

Shetan grinned darkly. "Well perhaps we can go test some leadership skills of a few herd stallions for some fun later on. " He listened to Rahu's short explanation of Aruna...ahhh so he did not like to give much information. Interesting. Elusive. "Maybe I will have to meet her some day. Perhaps you're right. Maybe your heart was too dark to open up and let her in to love her. Too bad. Mares like that are quite a rare find." He found himself dreaming of a strong willed white mare...he wondered if she even existed or did she just haunt his thoughts and dreams. turning his attention back to Rahu, he grinned all the more. "Smarter then the average soq I see. I was thinking of seeing how good you'd be in a race. I need to stretch my legs some. Interested?"

Rahu shrugged. “Yes they are but then I won’t let myself fall for any mare again.” He then smirked as Shetan asked for a race and talked of going and challenging some leaders of herds for fun. “Sounds like some fun. I’m definitely interested in a good race.” Still smirking he turned away from the water. “So where shall we race to?” he found he could trust and respect Shetan even though he just met him. Thinking for a moment, he found Shetan and himself quite alike in more than just appearances.

Shetan grinned. "well how about around the mountain base, to the forest edging and back along the lake's shores until we can run no more? It is always good to end a race near water for purposes of quenching thirst and resting in cool water afterwards." He grinned and took a stance, ready to bolt at any moment. He waited for Rahu to join him.....a stand still start...always the fairest start to a race. He was finding himself beginning to enjoy Rahu;s company. funny, he never liked a stallion before..even as a friend. But then he never let one live before either.
