Juhudi's ears flicked at a stray bit of dust. He supposed it was dusty here, though he had grown accustomed to it in the time he had lived here. Still it was especially dusty today.

"Why leave a map out where enemies could find it?"

He traced a line on the rock, easily marking it with a sharp talon, cutting across the lines that marked the surface. Rather a poor surface for something so important as a map would be. He had actually thought it looked more like a star chart, but again, that would be easily lost on the marred surface of the rocks.

He took several steps, paws taking him in the direction of the distant river. Lowering his head he inspected another rock that lay in the path. That seemed like an odd spot for a rock, odd that he'd never thought of that before.

Juhudi was fairly certain that the marks on the group of rocks had been natural. They were too uniform, and who would mark all sides of a rock? Not to mention any marks made would have been easily lost on the soft surface, and he had never seen any other lions or their tracks out here.

He looked up from the lone rock which he now had his paw on and was rolling onto it's side.

"Hmm? This rock just seems out of place."

Blue eyes gazed down at the stone, his surface was smooth, any markings that may have been erroded away in the wind and dust. But still...it could have served a purpose, it didn't have to be marked to mean something did it?

Tail flicking throughtfully, Juhudi examined the rock, why would this rock be here? He was silent for a few moments as he debated what use a rock off on it's own could serve.

"Well, there are no other rocks right here and the rest of the land is flat. Maybe...it could be a distance marker of some sort."

Maybe, like a mile marker. Maybe this rock was placed here purposefully to measure the distance to or from something. Or maybe it had just rolled down from higher ground.

"I think the other lions stay mostly in the hills, that's where I've seen tracks anyways."

Juhudi tilted his head, one brow raised in a silent question as he watched the lioness, his tail flicking behind him. Why did she keep doing that? If she had to pee or something why didn't she just go do it...seemed rather silly to just pace around like that.

"Why do you keep doing that?"

In stark contrast to the lioness, Juhudi had remained still, his paws only moving when he needed them whether it be to walk to another rock or to roll one over.

"Why do you keep pacing like that? You know if you're embarrassed or something you can go behind those rocks, I won't watch."

He always had been the calm, blunt, down to earth type. He never would have thought that she might not like what he had said, he had never learned that you should be more thoughtful about what you say around ladies, or even other creatures in general. But his bluntness was not to be mistaken for incoserateness or cruelty, in fact he had a very kind heart and would have never intentionally upset another.

The adolescent watched her for a moment, one brow cocked as if he wasn't quite convinced. But then who was he to judge why the lioness did something, if she wanted to hold it that was her business. Finally he simply shrugged and shook his head.

"No, I've just never known anyone that paced like that before."

Pale blue eyes blinked, dark ears falling back. What did he like to do? He couldn't find an answer to that. It seemed once upon a time, and not that long ago, that he had enjoyed life here, that he had been happy simply louging around with his friends or playing in the river.

But it seemed all that had lost it's appeal. He missed the days of travel, the days that he had a purpose. Maybe he hadn't found his place after all, maybe he had just found their place.

"Theres not much to do here."
