"Uh...Thanks?" The man turned the tube shaped package over slightly, looking at the warping on it. 'Happy Birthday' was written on the comic-strip newspaper in bright pink sharpie. Happy Birthday..? Pink? Pean pondered as he noted the also pink balloons and party hats drawn on it. Looking for the tape to open it, Paen turned it over again only to have a feminie hand was shoved in his face.

"No! You can't open it before the card!" Paen looked up at the women. He had to admit, even though she was wierd she made up for it with her body. Curvy, voluptuous, pretty face, though she could redye her hair. It was obivious that it was a fake red color and to make it worse her brown roots were showing.

"But... it's not-" He began and was cut off soon after, being unable to finish. Maybe Nancy's looks didn't make up for the other stuff.

"Just open the card first. It's not a big deal. Come on!" Sighing, Paen gave into the her and opened the card. A small mouse holding balloons looked like it was waving on the cover. Even if it's not my birthday that's a bit weird... She's defintally not going to last long. Good thing I already got her in bed. Smirking at thought, he opened the card.

Happy Birthday!
Have a great B-day!

Written in pen at the bottom of the card was a small note.

I looked at your bookshelf and noticed you had a lot of history books, so I hope you like this.

Happy birthday, Paen!
~Love Nancy!

History? How do I like history?... And doesn't she realize I never READ any of the books on my bookshelf? The books I read are on the side table. "Thanks... I guess." He set the card up and opened it to make it seem like he liked the card. Nancy grinned slightly, waiting patiencely for him to open the package.

Paen tore off the homemade wrapping paper and blinked at the tube. After a moment of finding with end it opened at, he pulled the end off and looked in. The tube wasn't light enough to see anything other then a blur, so he put his head on the end. Better not to damage it before I even see it. Lowering his hand on the end, he eased the present out of its container only to blink more. "Wh-what is it?"

"A scroll!" Oh god! She's definally not staying after THIS gift!

Ok... So... With all this weird things going on, I figured I'd start keeping a journal since I'll probably get used to them. I want to remember how normal I was before I moved to Gaia. Before the double jointed scroll child and the glowing furball of a jar. How did I get myself into this?

Speaking of double joints, Isdra is kind of creepy when it comes to that. I don't mean to insult my own kid... Oh god... I don't think I should go that far yet... ANYWAY, no kid should be able to bend and arm over their shoulder and still be able to itch all their back. It's just not right! Double joints freaked me out before the kid I'm WATCHING had them, now they freak me out more!

Isdra, other then the double joints, is pretty normal. She seems like a tomboy since she rather likes the overalls we had to burrow from Lily. Stubborn, too. I can't get that child to get in a car seat for the life of me now. Takes ten minutes just to do that and with her double joints she can almost get out of it. This is going to be very, very interesting as she grows up... Oh god... What about pupirty?! Oh god... This is gonna be horrible...

It’s official. Isdra is plotting to take over the world… Or at least drive me insane. She learned her first word today, too. Or I guess I should say words. ‘Shut. Up.’ I guess after shouting it for an hour she caught onto the word, though you really can’t help it when all kids to it yell. Malachi was ranting about a person with bunny ears he saw walking by and Isdra was screaming because she was in a dress. A dress! I thought little girls LIKED dresses?!

I’ve become thoroughly bewildered by that child. She’s an oddball, that’s for sure. She doesn’t like girly dresses, has become enemies with the car seat, refuses to wear shoes, and has some how become completely attached to my leather jacket. I mean, I don’t mind the last part nearly as much as the others, though it is my favorite jacket, but she has me confused. As far as I knew girls were completely the opposite of her. I cant’ figure her out.

I really hope, and slightly dread, that if I have any other girl children that why are fancy, dress loving girls. They are much easier to understand… I just realized why Is is such a mystery to me. She’s a tomboy. I’ve never even associated with a tomboy, let alone be the father of one…

Oh god… I’m doomed…

Purely doomed…

As though it was her baby blanket, Isdra was curled up on the couch in Paen's leather jacket. The smell of leather seemed to put her to sleep, at least when seh was tired. Paen had realized the past couple of day that as his daughter grew, much quicker then any child he had ever seen, the less likely he was to get his coat back. Sadly it had been his favorite, too, though he'd been willing to give it up for his daughter.

His daughter... He'd given up trying to avoid saying it, seeing as he had yet to see the women again. That and he had grown attacted to the young menace. That made him sigh, since he now knew that he would to anything for his little girl. Including deal with her violent temper tantrums and the evil hair pulling she had become famous for.

Picking her up, he turned and headed down the hallway toward her room. Nugging the door to open it, Paen walked in and headed to her bed, laying her down gently, only to have to dodge one of her violent sleep swips. He'd gotten used to those, too, seeing as he seemed to be attacked by them on a regular basis.

Heading out, he wondered his way back to his room, looking out the window before he walked in. It was definatally going to storm with in the next couple hours and it was going to be a bad one. Shrugging it off, he flopped on his bed and quickly feel asleep.

~*~

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Oh no.., Paen thought to himself as he was awoken to the loud cry of one of his kids. "Ugh..." Pulling himself out of bed, he grabbed his robe off the floor and walked down the hall, trying to figure out which one it was. "Arowana or Greyling, nope. Malachi, nope... Isdra...?" Slowlying opening her door, he saw his snotty daughter hiding under her blanket shaking. "Is?"

"Daddy!!!" Wow... She defintally is scared...

"What's wrong?"

"It's all angry outside! And there's flashing stuff! Scary!" She scooted off her bed and waddled, still wrapped in her blanket, toward him. Paen walked forward, picked Isdra up and asked her what she wanted to do. "Can we go in the basement?"

Paen smirked and walke out of the room, heading toward the stairs. "Of course," he said, carrying her down the stairs and flopping on the couch that was down there. Thank good this basement is furnished, he thought as he turned the T.V. on and put his arms around his freaked out daughter. "Let's just hang out... k?"

The small girl nodded and quickly feel back asleep in Paen's lap. Smiling he looked down, watching her sleep, but falling asleep himself. He was expecting many more nights like this...

...a switch and a new start...

Date - Feb. 20th
Mood - whee
Listening to - Coin Operated Boy - Dresden Dolls
Reading - Bound (It's a histotical-ish book on Chinese feet binding)
Watching - Medical Incredible
Playing - Role model ninja (You'll find out.)
Eating - The rim of my pop can
Drinking - The last few drops of Sierra Mist out of the pop can I'm eating.

God. I can never remember to keep up with this thing. Dad told me to keep one, so I try. Why? It really is beyond me. I really have NO clue. But ANYWAY, to keep up with it, I decided to switch it to online instead of a notebook diary thing... Yeah... Plus the fact I can't stand the horrible grammar in the beginning of it I mean... IT'S HIDIOUS! >_<

So yeah... All that crappy above was an opinion the journal sight had. It's kind of entertaining to play with. I like the mood faces. Some are fun, like this one. gonk ... or... ninja . -coughs- Yeah. I'm getting off topic.

Oh! Random fact... Ok... Not really random. It's actually really important! (God, I down the effects of big things XD) Nara's back! She was really... really sick after the whole kidnapping thing. I mean, they, like, didn't feed her at ALL. Crazy! It was shocking... Mr. M... De-cloaked himself... On accident-ish, but still! It was defintally not what I was expecting to see, but I mean, I still luff to torment him in all, so nothing has changed because of it. It was just a bit shocking.

Saving Nara also gave me the chance to get a weapon finally! It's kind of weird and all, but I'm too lazy to discribe it right now. I'll try to get a picture of them. My glove ish loves. <3

Oh! The news! The news! (The original news, not the stuff I just remembered.) I got a brother! He's a furry bloke names Irvine! He's so cute! He's covered in brown fur and he has this adorable red nose! He actually started out as a scrap, but he some how turned into a FULL KID! Instead of a little sprite-ish thing! Yay! He was a reindeer scroll, though, so hence the fur. He also has these little horns and hooves for feet! He's just starting to learn to walk and talk. By talk I mean grubble, not actual speech. He has a hard time walking with his hooves, though.

QWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I'm so happy!

...ANYWAY... I have to go now. Irvine is crying and Dad is at work, so I much go watch the children.

...i wanted to be like you...

Date - March 2nd
Mood - burning_eyes
Listening to - All you wanted - Michelle Branch
Reading - The Grimm Tales (Book of stories by the Brother's Grimm)
Watching - Ugh, nothing.
Playing - How many times can I poke my stitches before the pain starts getting unbareable.
Eating - French bread
Drinking - Milk

Soo... Second entry. This one is... A guess more for my sanity's sake. Within the course of one day I was bruised, stitched, ripped, confused, embarrassed, amused, anger, and shock. Isdra can't handle that many emotional and physical shock in one day. She just can't.

It started all honky dorey, right? Well that was short lived. The arrival of Halcyon, crystal scroll, screwed that all up. It was fine at first, until he tripped into my boobs. I mean, if I was normal, I wouldn't care, but the whole skin condition changes the whole situation. It's a simple, don't-touch-me-and-you're-pretty-much-good-in-my-book thing. That's all there is to it. But no. This kid is different. For some god forsaken reason, I have to CARE what he thinks. It's not like I don't have to try hard enough to keep my hands soft, he has to find away around that... Oh and that's another problem... (That was a big ramble. >_<; )

He's a kid! His, what, freaking 12 or 13 or something (In scroll age). It's crazy. He kisses me and he's just a kid! God!... GAH. I can't believe this all! I'm most appaulled by the fact it took me a second to decide weather to smack him for not. Whatever happened to my childhood mental pact with myself to never trust a male. Ugh. It's all gone down hill... I blame Reign and them. The infected me with the contagious 'feminine' virus! crying

I mean, I like Halcyon. He's a way freaking cool kid. Nice, polite, and all that other good crap. He's nice to Irvie, too. I mean, that's always a plus in my book, since if someone doesn't like Irvine, I don't like them. But anyway, no, he's cool. He's dad, too. I don't know... I mean... There's not too much to tell... He's not very unique, well... His eyes are. They're amazing. Just beauitiful. Prismatic. You just can't beat that... He can morph the shape of crystals, too. That's his talent....

I feel bad now.

...Am I actually doing this? I mean really? Even if I have the canvas that I said I'd use out and all the buttons and thread and stuff out... Am I really going to do this? That's all the kept running through the teen's head as she eyed the supplies. Dirtied, old canvas, miss-match buttons and random eyes, needles, thread. All of it. The list continued to span the small hat she had bought secretly while at the mall with the girls, braclet elastic and beads, and a small stuffed heart she ripped off of one of the many killed stuffed animals that roamed her house. That damn fish brother of hers couldn't stop masacuring the poor things.

The staring contest continued, only ending when Isdra admited defeat in the action of standing and wandering away from the mass of tools on the floor. A sippy cups for the twins, a sandwich for her brother, a cup of coffee for herself. Everything was taken care of. Mail have been gotten, garabe was out, no groceries were need (for once). Nothing to do but stare at the blob of things she had got out.

"FINE!!!" There. She gave in.

Table; check. Coffee; check. Band-aids; check. Everything that was needed was sitting infront of her. Picking up the stuffing, she balled it up and stuck it in the middle of a swach of canvas. "...How am I... Like that? Whaaaa..." After about seen trail and errors, she figured out a way to sew a round head for the doll. "There!....DAMMIT!" Another stupid moment. She sewed the entire thing shut, leaving no where to put the stuffing in at. A quick grab for the sissors and she cut a hole in it, smacked stuffing in, and sewed it back up.

Another hour pasted and she finally finished putting the eyes on and sewing a mouth on. It only took her forever to do. Who knew that making a plushie, a crappy plushie at that, was so hard?! It was a simple process that seemed to be incredibly difficult for her. But she was determined.

"OW!!" One arm, a leg, and an almost stuffed body was all that was done two hours after the first hour. Although this included feeding the kids and setting them in front of a TV, that's still quite a bit of time. One more st-

"WAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" GODDAMMIT! Another freaking pause!! Twenty minutes later she finally managed to get back to her project. It only took her thirty minutes to finish the body and other limbs because of her anger. Wow... That went fast... She attatched them to the body quite happily and then looked it over. Something was missing.

"Ah-ha!" Reaching to the side, she grabbed the hat she had bought at Hot topic the other day and put it on it's head. It was a bit big, but she was so aggravated with the plushie she, quite frankly, didn't give a damn what the hell the thing looked like. Something... is still needed... On a random impulse, she took off one of her braclets and put it around the doll's neck. "There. All done!"

Cordain waited in the car, smiling as he looked up at the sky above, having drove his convertible there. Halcyon was outside the car and making his way nervously up to the front door of the home Isdra lived at. It wasn't hard for Cordain to locate her home after all, he had connections.

Halcyon stiffened, closed his eyes and took a breath before he knocked on the door and left a package on the front door, it was wrapped, with a note on it saying "From Halcyon to Isdra"

He bolted for the car and dove into the back seat, Cordain laughed and tore off, that kid was starting to act more and more like him, one day he'd have an ego too.

Past the wrapping paper was a black case, the kind one had when they bought a necklace from a professional, inside was a simple pendant with a pink jewel inside, the jewel, the inside of it had been altered to have an umbrella design, like the image of one had been trapped in a gem.

As they drove off, Halcyon hugged the plushie that Isdra had left for him.

...with none to blame for all of my insecurities...

Date - April 26th
Mood - burning_eyes
Listening to - Billy Talent - Pins and Needles
Reading - Shadow Children series
Watching - Sister Sister
Playing - Fatal Frame
Eating - Pizza
Drinking - Tea!

Wow...

Wow...

That's all that can basically describe the recent events that have taken place. It's just plain crazy! I'm at the beach, then all of the sudden I'm in a room in a bed with a kid over me. What the hell?! He was rude as heck, too. The brat. Looming over me like he's the grim reaper or something, what's his problem.

No, but seriously, it's just weird! I was on the beach with Halcyon, no I'm still not sure what's going on, but anyway, he had gotten his surf board and I had always wanted to try one of the things out. Sooo... I did. And the crappy ocean had to smit me for it... Huge wave = lots of people. Huge wave + lots of people + Isdra = -twitch- Yeah... Not good. So basically within a minute of standing on the board I went down.... I'm a bit foggy on what happened after that. Though I think I got injuried. >_<:

Knowing me, I probably got nailed in the head or something... Ugh. Gotta cut this short. Greyling and Arowana are crying again. @_@

Anyway, I got nail in the head, and woke up... well... not on the beach. So basically I have a 'WTF?!' expression. With a kid standing over me. Telling me that I'm gonna had a TWINS in like... two day?! What the hell?! I won't even believe all this if it wasn't for the fact I have a necklace now that I can't take off. crying

Anyway, I'm off. Blahhh.

A father's proctection...?

She was twiddling her thumbs. I can't believe this is level this has brought me down to. Isdra wasn't know for sensitivity or even caring in general for that matter. No, it was quite the contrary. This teen was know throught out her group of people...? Race? Blah, she wasn't even sure what to call it. Anyway, she was know by most for her blunt, straight forward, and often cruel comments; for her 'orly?' eyebrow raise; for the things that no one else around there was. And now she was twiddling her thumbs. Great...

The worst part of this whole experience was that she couldn't figure out who to blame for it. Usually it'd be a sibling, her father, a dumb pedestrian who came for no-... We don't speak on that blaming exprience, but to put it simple, there was alway someone to blame. Other then herself. And this time she knew for sure that this wasn't her fault. Thanks but no thanks. Kids were something she had intented to avoid for a very long time once she moved out, but no. That experience had to bluntly mascure her dreams.

That experience... She shuddered at the thought. It wasn't a frightened shudder, either. It was one of the shuddered that people did before they politely asked the person next to them to hold them in place so that don't launch themselves at something with a scary amount of anger. One of those shudders.

It had involved a wave, a surfboard, and Isdra in the beginning, along with a large amount of people inserted. Together that equalled a board in the head, pain, and unconsciousness. What a fun mix. Then it went to waking up in a place she'd never seen before with an annoying bart standing over her with his face much to close. Not in a bad way of course. Ew. Nah, it was the kind of way that gave off the erge to punch the person in the face violently. After she covered the 'get outta my face' and he cover the 'I don't like you' part of the conversation it quickly went to the line. Quote, unquote, "You should be nicer, since you're gonna be a mommy soon."

What the hell. That was the simple base of her responce, right before she pulled him on the rug for calling her fat, which wasn't what he ment. No, no. He meant that you die, we make you live, and then we give you a deity to raise. Or at least that's what she thought it'd be like for most, but with her it was different. The first two things are the same, but change the deity to 'deities' then that what Isdra got. So now she has a necklace stuck around her neck, that she can't get off, and trying to find a way to tell her father. And actually have him believe her. Fuuuuun...

Glancing up for her loved thumb twiddling, she noticed her father had just got in with groceries. "Malachi! Go help Dad with the groceries. Now!" A grumbling kid, the only that could really understand the conversation, other then Irvine, out of the way. Irvine was sleeping, so that's all good. Bah. Paen watched as a strange version of his daughter walked into the kitchen and just stood there.

"Yeah...?" He questioned as he went through the bags, setting things on the counter. When no responce came, he shrugged and started point the refrigerated items in their proper places. "Heeeelloooo?" Paen questioned again, looking over his shoulder at the young teen. "Are you going to respond?"

The teen shuffled her feet and began muttering, "Eh... Yeah see... It's like this..."

"GET TO THE POINT."

"OnvacationwhenIwashangingoutwithHalcyonIdecidedtogosurfingbutitwasabigwaveandtherewerelostofpeopleand IfellandgothitintheheadwithaboardandIguessIdrowned butsomegodssavedmeandIguesstherewasaconditionandnowIhavetotakecareoftwins..." Homg. It was daul mental response. Both of them. Isdra couldn't believe she said it while Paen was busy tring to figure out what she said.

"...What?"

"Homigod... I can't say it again, Pops. Don't make me say it again. You're gonna flip... Oh god." Her tough and sly appearance was gone now, revealing a normal, average teen. A teen when they know their parent is gonna freak out. Pacing, muttering, lip biting. All of it.

"..." Paen knew this was going to be one, a new type of talk for them, and two, a very serious and potentially loud talk. The last item went in the fridge and he turned, grabbing her arm and pulling her into the backyard. Little ones sleeping plus yelling is not a good mix. "Now, tell me again, but add in some periods, a few commas and maybe a pause or two."

After a bit of extra thumb twiddling, she finally began explaining the experience. Her father remain calm through the whole paragraph of explaination, a bit weirded out by the death part and everything after that, but calm. "And... I guess they want me to pay them back for them saving me... or something... I guess..."

"Pay them back?"

"...They're forcefully making me mother twins."

"..........." That pause turned into a longer pause and after that, another. The only thing that he'd heard of the whole conversation was mother and twins. "WHAT?!"

"Yeah... I have no choice. Either I'm dead, or I'm a mom... I asked." Isdra returned to her new favorite thing to do as her father took this whole thing in.

"...This wasn't what I was expecting..... I don't know what to say." And that's all he said as he turned and walking back into the kitchen, finished putting the groceries away, and ordered Malachi to watch the other kids. Then he left. While Isdra sat in the backyard, hidden behind a tree, and for the first time since she was small, cried.
