I've never had root beer. What does it taste like? I know that it used to be made using sassafrass root, and I drink homemade sassafrass tea all the time. Do they taste at all similar?

I've never had sassafrass tea so I don't know. It's very sweet drink. Damn I can't describe its flavor beyond that.
