((XDD *laughs at Neko*))

Ruwalk took a small detour to make a quick stop at his room and thrown in the dusty traveling cloak, he could look somewhat presentable at least and not as if he just arrived. It had been a pleasant enough trip though, not too exhausting due to the good but unhurried pace and nice weather. It was a mighty nice day outside actually, he noted wistfully. One could not believe they were at war...

Walking back through the halls calmly, the Yellow Dragon Officer decided to go to Teceous first. The Head of Security's office was, also, closer at the moment.

Coming up to the door, the brunette knocked at the wooden surface, waiting for a reply.

Teceous had just finished his paperwork, reading over the reports, and jotting down statistics when he stood from his chair, stretching and now he stood by the window, pensively gazing out the glass to the beautiful day. It was for days like this half of the Black Dragon Officer thanked the heavens.

But only half.

He tilted his head back as his ear twitched, the knocking echoed through the quiet office. A brisk sigh left his lips as he rounded his desk, heaidng for the door. There goes my moment of peace... The ravenette thought as he grabbed the knob, twisting it to open the door.

"Yes?" He said briefly before he looked down to see whom it was. Oh.. Luwalk A brisk mental smile follow. "Luwalk." He said softly. "It's good to see you've returned home in a single piece. Welcome back."

The officer sweatdropped. "Thank you. And the day I return in two pieces I'll make sure to send a Dragon Fighter in advance to warn you all." He said jokingly with a small smile. "How has it been? Calm?" Obviously, the Yellow Dragon Officer meant the castle and not anybody in person. Just an overall check on the situation before going into the "wonderfully pleasant" report from the battle.

((XD;; And Neko... ravenette sounds... AWFULLY femmy.))

(( Yeah yeah *Waves hand* ))

The other officer gained no chuckle or laughter from the taller one, but just a brief, but warm smile. "It's been very calm, almost too calm.." His tone sounded a little angry about the fact that it was being so peaceful at the castle in such a rampant time of war.

Teceous made a small gesture for the other to enter his office. "I deem that you have a absolutely wonderful report for me?" One could almost here the hint of sarcasm in his tone.

"Don't we always?" Ruwalk replied with a smile tugging up one of the corner of his mouth as he walked into the room. "Well, jokes aside, this one is fairly nice." The dragon made sure to put an emphasis on 'fairly'.

The officer waited for the other man to close the door and step further back in before beginning. "We didn't have quite as much losses as in the last clash, also, we had more injuried than killed. In addition, Vierres was able to take care of a possible sneak attack up further north so nothing really came out of it. No casualties there, which was very nice to hear. He's really good, our Red Dragon Officer." Ruwalk finished his report, waiting for any questions about certain details or the like from the darker officer.

If one listened closely, you could hear the soft snort come from Teceous at the mention of the Red Dragon Officer. He rounded his desk again, just after Luwalk had finished speaking and he found his black hues gazing out the window once more, his hands fit comfortably behind his back.

He just nodded. "I'm glad that Vierres is doing so well... It's always a good thing to hear of a lack of casualties.." The black dragon officer sounded a little bitter about not being able to be in the fields where countless dragons were risking their lives for the Dragon Emporer. Oh how he longed for some battle. Maybe he would go out to the dragon fighters and get some practice in. The fighters needed to on edge because who knew when they would be issued a order to the fields.

Something then dawned on the taller dragon as he turned softly on the balls of his feet. "Oh, Luwalk. Do you know the body count for the battle you were at?"

The dragon blinked once but nodded. "I do." He conceded. "Why? Do you want to hear it?" He knew the other strongly longed to get out onto the battle field, after all, one could just do so much at the castle. He knew Vierres was probably worse off locked up in the castle but Ruwalk thought that he probably could get the Red Dragon Officer to agree to stay put the next time they got word about Nadil's army moving in on them again.

"Aye." He replied softly, the glimmer of red in his eyes finally died down. Teceous moved to his desk, looming over the piece of wood as he looked to the chart he was making. "I was just curious about this war, so with all the reports I have to look over, I started to make this body count chart..." He turned the piec of paper around to the yellow dragon officer could get a glance of the chart showing the dragon number steadily going down while the youkai dead body count rose a little.

Ruwalk really hadn't liked the mention of a statistic list, it made him feel like they had been fighting this war so much longer than they had... But then again, two years were also too long.

Glancing at the list made him feel a little better, but not much, the death count from the first months, year even, were something he wouldn't raise a flag for, but it had slowly been getting better.

"Well..." He began, taking his eyes off the paper. "I could tell you that there were fifty people less dead this time compared with the previous one." Suddenly the officer frowned as he remembered something. "It's odd, now that I think about it... there were fewer youkai than I had expected. Two fights with a smaller number and they usually come with a bigger the next time, that always gave us trouble. But this time they didn't..." He said thoughtfully.

The Black Dragon Officer froze at what the other had said. He quickly tilted his gaze up to Luwalk, there was a worried look in his eye.

"That only means one thing. Nadil is planning something. Something he will do horrid when we think that we have them..." Teceous found himself shivver, but it was unnoticible. But as for the red glimmer, that had quickly returned in his black hues as he grabbed a pen, dipping it into the ink well and writing in the numbers for the dragons.

This didn't sound good, not good at all. "What do you think he'll do? Do you think we would be able to somewhat predict the time it will happen from what we already know?" I wouldn't want to give this report to his majesty right now to worry about weeks if not a month or more in advance." Ruwalk said worriedly. They had to be prepared, no one really knew when it came to Nadil. He was one hard youkai to predict.

Thatz pushed the back of his hand over his forehead, brushing limp bangs from his skin. He'd heard about the snows when Lady Raseleane was taken by Nadil many years ago, and wished fleetingly he'd been there for that.

He was hot, sticky, tired, sore... Same as always, really, and in much better condition than many. He supposed he should be thankful for that, and he was, although that didn't mean he couldn't complain about it anyway. Besides, it wasn't like there was anyone around to hear if he did voice his thoughts out loud.

The small Dragon perched on his shoulder glanced up at him almost wryly.

Thatz cracked a grin, some of the tension leaving his body.

It wasn't that bad, anyway. Not at the moment. Impatiance was just eating at him. He was waiting for Bierrez to return, bringing word of the battle with him. Ruwalk might know, true, but he didn't want to bother the Yellow Dragon Officer with yet another task when he could just as easily ask the other. It wouldn't be long until the Red Knight returned, but every minute consumed by nervous waiting contained an absurd swarm of questions to be answered and wishes to be granted.

How many dead? How many missing? How many dying on the too-slow march back to the castle and the healers? Any traces of demons following, spying? Any information about their next plan? Any news of Nadil?

...Any word of Rath?

Thatz sighed, a quick glance around the courtyard first assuring him that no one was around to hear.

"Any more, Earth?" he asked the dragon, pushing aside his thoughts with a worn smile. Earth shook his head, unblinking eyes watching his master's face. "Rune might be back," Thatz commented, perking up slightly as he bent to gather the fistful of battered but not beyond repair arrows gathered from the rubble and debris. "I hope he is," he continued, free hand lightly stroking the dragon's smooth brow. "I haven't seen him yet today. Not like me to not bother him at least once a day."

Thatz laughed, the sound short but genuine, as he picked his way back to the main pathways around the castle, the precious arrows still clasped in his hand.

He looked down at the dragon now gliding beside him. "Infirmary, you think?"

"Hmm..." Teceous pondered for a moment, before falling to a sit back in his chair. He propped his elbows on his desk, interlocking gloved fingers so that his chin could rest on top. "I could work on it... I could get a general idea about a time frame for a possible bad attack... but I'd have to hear from Vierres first.. Unless you know anything about the youkai fight he had..." The Black Dragon Officer's eyes shifted from the piece of paper covered in numbers up to the brunette standing infront of him.

His mind tried to fathom what Nadil could be plotting, what the Youkai Lord could have hidden up his sleeve. Anything... Teceous attempted to gather from previous horrid attacks what Nadil could be laying in wait for strike with. His curse was already in set with.. Teceous mentally shook his head. He didn't want to think about that right now. So many events ran through his head in that short moment.

"No..." Ruwalk lowered his head a bit and shook it. "I didn't get much information before I left. We were, after all, not at the same place." He looked up at Teceous again. "We'll just have to wait." There wa a pause before he continued. "Also... how has Lykouleon been?" Ruwalk's use of the Emperor's name without honorific indicated that he meant from a more personal viewpoint. "How many new Dragon Fighters have been adopted while I was gone?" Both the officers knew what their ruler felt about doing that.

He stood a little, sifting through some finished papers on his desk, handing the updated list to Luwalk. "Thankfully not that many... But enough for the time being."

Then a deep sigh came from Teceous as he leaned back into his chair, looking to Luwalk. "He's seen better days... but you know that Luwalk.. I've been doing everything I can to make the stress a bit less on him, since you were gone... but you know how Lykouleon can be..." The black dragon officer said with a soft sigh.
