A lot of people tell me they have no idea why I, or anyone else, would _want_ to be Jewish and actually work at becoming Jewish for no reason. sweatdrop
In contrast, some converts wonder why so many people take the gift of being Jewish for granted by being nonobservant.

I know what you mean, it's true 3nodding . I feel converts in general can be stronger than many who were "born jewish" in a frum home. YvetteEmilieDupont describe this said phase, because that's what everyone thinks i'm going through, but i'm not. i mean if people knew everythign has been going on in my head for the past eight years they wouldn't be shocked at all that i'm just now saying what i've been thinking since i was fiveish, sooo yea. no, you're definately not that Quote: i just wanna know when these people are going to finally stop treating me like a child. bingo

YvetteEmilieDupont how can your dna say you're jewish rofl until the radical movements (reform, conservative, reconstructionist, etc) came along, jews married exlusively jews, with the odd convert, but that was rare. so, in essence, over 3700 years, a phenomenae similar to the one described by darwin as geographical isolation might have ocurred. that's only one expanation. cohanim, or priests (ie, male descended directly from aaron hakohen), cannot marry converts, so their line contains mostly, and in some lines completely, the genetic material of aaron hakohein, and thus avraham aveinu. there are several genes unique to this geneology (sp).

Nothing wrong with converts. I'm a convert. I'm a bit of a different case, as my father was Jewish and I grew up with my paternal grandparents in a 100% observant home.
