(030) Project

To Sizzla:

You have been chosen as the recipient of a child. No ordinery child, but one of the legendary fae, said to have been lost since the beginnings of time.

You have been chosen to partake in the elusive 030 project.

Should you accept this choice, please place the attached red ribbon on your door. Tomorrow, you will recieve more instructions as to how to proceed.

Shy of the 030 Project.

Elysia had heard a tap on the door, and she went to answer it, finding no one there. She looked around, and found no sign of life, but instead, as she turned around to go back into the house, she saw the note on the door. Attached to the note was a red ribbon.

She read it slowly taking in the words as the crickets chirped in the background. Another child? Could she take on yet another kid? Let alone a fae! She had enough trouble with the Furies, and she wasn't sure if she should take on more...

But having a big heart for children that needed help and reawakening, Sizzla sighed and pulled the red ribbon off of the note, pinning it to her front door. If she had been called on to help out a fae, it was the least she could do. After all, she was half-fae herself, so it was only right...

(030) Project
The next day, you find a larger package waiting at your door.

Inside there is a somewhat pretty looking vase, and another note.

User Image

The note reads:

'Thank you for choosing to partake in the 030 Project.

The vase before you is a receptacle, of sorts. The fae at the moment are not the illustratious, powerful beings that legends speak of, but tiny, invisible faeries that are harder to see than a cell with the naked eye. What the vase does is amplifies the power of the fae and, should one specific member choose to enter, it will being a complicated chemical process of reincarnation.

In order to start, the jar must be offered a gift. Whether this is precious, semiprecious, sentimental, it does not really matter. However it must have some sort if identifiable link-- and hopefully, does not consist of any objects on the attached list.

Should you happen to see a change in the jar, please bring it to the lab for consideration. Any questions will be answered then.

*address attached*

Sincerely,

Shy, of the 030 project."

Then, a list, folded into an origami lotus:

"Rose, sunflower, cracked mirror, stone figurine, ankh, prism, pendant, blood, feathers, stapler, stethoscope, ribbon, glow stik, koolaid, thimble, fishnet shirt, dagger, holly, jade, vial of ocean water"

Front page of the main thread should explain the next steps. XD hopefully! ))

Elysia had woken up that morning, thinking about the note that had arrived on her door the night before. She hadn't know what to expect--she just knew that something else from Project [030] would arrive today. What it would be, she didn't know. She grabbed a cup of coffee, and proceeded to head to the back porch to enjoy the morning breeze before it got too uncomfortable to sit outdoors. It was getting hot in Gambino, and she didn't really like the above-90 degree temperatures. Sweating didn't become her.

As she pushed the back door open, she felt resistance, and pushing a bit harder, wedged it open enough to squeeze through the crack. In front of the door was a covered cardboard box with a note on top.

Picking up the box, she headed to the table and sat down, putting her coffee out of the way, just in case something happened to just pop out from the box. She wouldn't be surprised.

Instead, she lifted the lid, and placed in the middle of the box, surrounded by padding, was a vase. Lifing it out, she placed it on the table and began to read the note. Her brow furrowed as she took in the information, thinking about what she'd use as the gift. There were all kinds of trinkets around her house, and she tried to think of the perfect thing to use...

She unfolded the origami flower and read the list, which didn't really affect her choice much. All of the things she'd thought of weren't objects on the list. Excellent. Turning ideas over in her mind, she finally came upon the perfect item.

She took one more sip of coffee and went back inside to retreive the object that would help bring this fae to life. Rummaging through her jewelry box, she found the pendant she wanted to use, and clutched it tightly in her hand, walking downstairs again, and back out on the back patio.

Eyeing the curved glass, she slipped the pendant into the vase, and let it rest in the center, at the bottom, waiting for something to happen. Would it happen now? Or should she watch it and wait??

She sat back and drank the rest of her coffee, watching the vase. And still, after twenty minutes, nothing had happened. Sighing, she picked up the vase and brought it inside, placing it on the kitchen table. Surely, something would happen within a few days. She'd just have to wait.

Glowing, pulsating, looking more like a fraction of the night sky has been taken and molded into something else. During night it fills the room with a soft glow-- from the stars, maybe? And during the day it dies down, looking like an ordinery jar with.. stuff in it.

Stuff.

It seems to be progressing faster than usual, however. Someone needs to keep an eye on it...

Later that evening, Elysia was turning off the lights in the house, preparing to go to bed. The children were all asleep, save for Rhea, who was probably reading upstairs in her room. The light shone from a crack under her door, but it could be that she fell asleep while reading, the lights still on.

Heading downstairs to put the coffee on a timer for the morning, she almost flicked the light switch on. But something caught her eye before she had the chance. A glow was coming from the vase that she had brought in earlier. The vase from the [030] Project. The fae.

She slowly walked toward it, wary of whatever may be causing the glow. As she neared the table, she looked inside to find a dark shadow, speckled with bright silver. The silver specks looked like stars, and they glowed brightly inside the vase, illuminating the room as if it were a night sky, much like in a planetarium.

She watched it, awed by the sight. It was beautiful, and it reminded her of nights on the beach, the lights of the city fading away to reveal glowing silver specks against the azure of the sky. Breathtaking. She was almost sad to think that her beautiful centerpiece would one day be gone...but she supposed that if a child as beautiful as the glowing matter inside the vase was born from it, she'd be quite happy. But what kind of powers would such a fae have? If the fae the Project was talking about were as powerful as they sounded, this little one could be mighty!

Sitting at the table, she stared into the vase transfixed, thinking of the creature that would emerge from it.

At some point, she fell asleep, her head resting on her arms on the hardwood table, the vase happily twinkling in the background.

The next morning, all she could feel was the pounding of her head. She was semi-stuck to her arm, a bit of drool connecting her face to the skin on her arm.

"Ugh," she mumbled, pulling her head off of the table and sitting up, her back cracking and creaking as she did so. She stretched a bit, twisting her torso back and forth, rolling her head in circles to get the kinks out of her neck.

It was then that her eyes rested on the vase once again--the vase that she'd fallen asleep from while watching it.

And the thoughts of the fae inside came back to her quickly, filling her mind once again. The jar had been glowing last night...today, it was strange to see that the shadow was still there--but instead of being black, like she had seen it last night, it was now a dark blue, and it still had silver speckles in it, like the stars. It no longer glowed though, but perhaps that was because it was no longer nighttime.

And then, she heard a voice over her shoulder. "What's that?"

Elysia looked over her shoulder to see Flora standing there, looking wide-eyed at the vase. "It's really pretty miss," she said, fluttering over to it to inspect it closer. "Do you know what it is?"

"Well, I got it from some sort of company that revives long-lost fae. I got a note on the door, and then the next day, a box with this vase arrived. It was empty at first, but it said that I had to give it a gift in order for it to attract the fae," she said with a nod. "I put my starfield pendant in it, and later that day, this appeared," she said, pointing to the shadowy yet starry thing that had appeared in the vase. "Last night, I came down here, and it was glowing like the night sky."

"And you fell asleep at the table, didn't you?" she asked, waggling her tiny finger at the silver-haired woman. "You should have gone to bed..." she scolded her guardian. Flora was practically her voice of reason, and she liked to give her opinion on the happenings in Elysia's life.

"Yeah, I did." She paused, giving her a pseudo-angry face. "But whatever, I don't really care. I like to see these things grow!" she exclaimed. "After all, it's a fae Flora...like me...but older most likely..."

"Really? Older than you? Well, won't that be intersesting, she quipped, knowing that it would piss off her guardian just a little bit.

"Hey! I'm not that old!" She swatted at the cherub with her hand, wanting her to leave her alone. She still wasn't feeling well from waking up at the table. "I've got to get some real sleep," she said, looking at Flora. "You watch the vase and see if anything else happens. I'm going to take a nap," she said, walking through the kitchen and up the stairs to the bedrooms.

Flora, who was a bit annoyed that she had to watch this vase do NOTHING, plopped down on the table, folding her wings down onto her back. This might take awhile, she thought, hoping Faun would come entertain her...if only he could read her mind...

((Watching, waiting...a fae?))

(030) Project
Soon, much too soon you walk in to find that the jar is gone. Instead there is a young girl lying on the ground, flicking her hair and staring up at the ceiling as if somehow she can see the stars. Because it is night, and like the jar, her skin glows.

It is not that her skin is a piece of sky. But that stars have been trapped under the surface of her skin, glowing brightly and chasing away the shadows.

Congrats Sizzla! You've got a girl. :3
